He doesn’t take a single hit from Yuta or Rika the entire fight aside from one
He’s able to parry attacks from both of them with playful cloud which isn’t particularly impressive as playful cloud is provable a greater amp to striking power than a black flash
It is very impressive that he has the speed/skill to briefly 1v2 Rika and a no Rika reinforcement Yuta but Ryu does that against a stronger Yuta while damaged and fatigued and also wins the h2h part of the engagement
He hits pre Rika reinforcement Yuta twice to the head with playful cloud which again is a greater amp than a black flash and Yuta is completely conscious afterwards
After figuring out reinforcing himself with Rika’s CE Geto gets outsped by Yuta
Yuta lands the only hit landed on Geto throughout the entire fight and does more damage to Geto than two black flash level strikes from Geto did to Yuta the punch and exchange had such an effect on Geto
that he immediately popped ult
I like Geto I really do he’s one of my favourite characters in the series and I’m currently working on a super post scaling his stats and speculating on his arsenal but God damn have I see some bad takes abt how strong he is
I was going to have it also sap life like Emperor time but I felt that would be too harsh
So for starters we know that he had two special grade curses bare minimum as he showed off Tamamo no Mae and Todo is confirmed to have fought one of them
We also know that he had multiple grade 1 level curses with Todo alone encountering five
We can also infer that 4460 of the spirits he physically has on him in zero are of fairly low grade with Yuta receiving no blow back from telling them a chunk of curses he sent out to die and Geto choosing not to use them against Yuta physically while in CQC with him.We can also infer from this that he had no interesting abilities amongst them aside for Tamamo no Mae
He sent 2000 curses out split between Kyoto and Tokyo I think it’s pretty clear that based on Todo’s encounter that he sent out his strongest curses to rampage and kept his weaker curses on him for the sheer numbers
Rika is likely one of the registered special grade curses in zero so her whereabouts are accounted for
And the unnamed curse Todo exorcised aswell as Tamamo no Mae are accounted for in Geto’s arsenal
So that leaves 13 which would include Kuroroushi,Smallpox Deity and Ganesha whom all later end up within Kenjaku’s arsenal
Kenjaku thinks that Geto would’ve definitely beat Yuta and Rika if he had his full arsenal so him having more special grade curses would make sense
I suppose the reason I think Geto possessed all of them is why else would they be allowed to exist? Gojo is overwhelmingly powerful he can without effort kill a grade 1 level combatant.Someone like Naobito can also defeat a grade 1 (Ogi) easily as per Gege so if these spirits are known about why would it not be the priority to exorcise them? We know that Gojo is sent overseas and sent on missions alot and they have what? 4 grade ones on payroll directly at the time of zero I just feel that unless Geto directly possessed them they wouldn’t be alive
And if anything Ogi doing this helped Maki because it got rid of her annoying and hateful sister aswell as allowing for Maki’s awakening which is the only reason people like her
What could/could he not do after watching it
Who would you give a shot against him after watching the tapes?
Since they have to physically trace the movements with their base speed initially I wonder if they’ve imposed a binding vow to slow themselves when not using the CT but to amp themselves further when using it
Maki threw this punch with perfect timing it wasn’t about reaction speed or anything like that she was continuously counting the length of a sequence and the timing of Naoya’s sequences throughout the fight
Naoya committed to charging her at full speed as while he was largely winning the fight with even Maki commenting on how it was going poorly for her he wasn’t landing a decisive blow without it he understood that Maki could end the fight with one hit so didn’t want to give her the chance too by falling into a prolonged fight.
Naoya had to rapidly build up to a full stack and thus had to do it in as few sequences as possible (these sequences had to be in a straight line due to this) he finally reached a full stack in the middle of his final final sequence or at the end of his second last sequence and then charged Maki in a straight line intent on bulldozing her at top speed
Maki through timing the length of his sequences threw this punch perfectly to align with the end of a sequence.Naoya off of pure speed could’ve reacted and he could’ve weaved/swerved but he simply wasn’t able too as if he attempted too he’d have been frozen for a full second in which time he would be completely defenceless.Naoya essentially gambled and lost on being able to survive running into Maki’s punch rather than the alternative which would’ve been certain death for him.Maki literally just caught Naoya while he couldn’t fight back
