One thing I find interesting about this chapter is the lowkey implication that a major reason the Soga clan power and influence has remained unquestioned is because the Kagari clan didn’t have a flame bone user in 400 years to balance the scales. Which makes Hiyuki even cooler imo.

I am willing to concede that Present Day Shiba is probably stronger now but stylistically I still favor Hiroto in a hypothetical matchup.

-Top of the verse in stats

-Elite level Swordsman

-High Battle IQ

-Flight

-Gravity Powers

- Can further amp his stats with Kurotsuchi

Itazura is an extremely versatile sorcery but I believe Hiroto and Kurotsuchi counters it to some extent.

-It requires physical contact which is dangerous because it puts him in potential CQC with Hiroto stats and swordplay.

-Fall damage is out the picture because Hiroto can fly.

- Based on what we seen in Irishima Shiba can temporarily match Hiroto but only for a few seconds before damaging his arm because Itazura has a threshold. Even if you believe he’s refined his sorcery it would still be unable to match Kurotsuchi because Hiroto can do it with no drawbacks.

Ik Giyu have a good first impression but I think it would be cool if he’s the most to cement this mindset in Akemura. That in their eventual fight Giyu doesn’t have any hate or anger towards him. He just understands their 2 samurai’s whose code can’t co-exist.

This sub has a bad habit of giving some trash hot takes. Here’s a real hot take I believe Usman/Colby 1 was a better fight than Lawler/Rory 2. Lawler vs Rory is massively carried by the last 2 rounds while the Usman/Colby fight was a slugfest from start to finish.
