X4 pro locked from amazon

Are all pro devices sold on amazon locked? (In my case amazon canada) though I am curious about any amazon.

I thought if I didnt buy from aliexpress or china site it wouldn't be locked. Wondering if I got unlucky and should try exchanging it or if that is pointless. Since the pro model can't even be sd flashed only ota unlocked I dont know if I want it. Probably just return it. I don't care for companies that put such measures in place to prevent me doing what I want to my own device.

Connect to Switch 2 as Pro 2 Controller?

Have there been any updates so that I can connect this to a switch 2 as a pro 2 controller? As long it is recognized and connects as a pro 1 I cannot map the back buttons. I prefer to play handheld so I am really hoping there is a solution to this now, a year later.

If I need to connect differently? Firmware update on controller? Or something else? If there is a way please let me know.

Thanks.

New player...is difficulty managable

I'm new to the series, but really like the big open scifi world. Wondering if the difficulty will take away my enjoyment, especially as someone who has never played any before and no difficulty settings?

I play a lot of cozy indie games, but also like jrpgs. I will use difficulty settings if available and I'm not super skilled at combat, but usually can figure it out if it's not over the top challenging or boring level of grinding involved. (And if it's not a platformer, I'm terrible at those 😊) Based on reviews I know I should explore and do side quests, which is actually what I like to do in open worlds like this. If the grinding feels organic and part of the flow and the world I would be okay, but when it feels like a tedious aspect I'm being forced to do, I know it will be a wasted $100. For instance, I love the octopath traveller games, but the grinding nature always makes me stop playing at some point. On the other hand, I wandered around in Breath of the Wild doing everything else and did the main story secondary.

This is why I think I'll like this game, but again if it's difficult and I am frequently dying or unable to progress through boss battles I won't enjoy it. I heard of issues where quests require fighting higher levels, which worries me for what overall progress I'll be able to make. Based on all this, how do you consider the difficulty of this game for a new player of Xenoblade with my gaming experience?

PS. How is the story? I know it's not as linear or story driven as some games in the genre, but is it still engaging? Maybe scale 1-10. 10 being amazing story.

Thanks.

Switch 2 fast drain in sleep, possible fix

Since getting the switch 2 a year ago I have had the issue of battery calibration and fast draining in sleep. Which seems likely more calibration than actual battery drain. I've lost up to 40% just in sleep over 8-10 hours. In airplane mode, with no games suspended! That is an extreme case, it is usually less than that, though still much more than the few percent it should be if nothing is running, not even wifi. I have tried the recommendation, by nintendo and others, but they haven't fixed this. However I tried something else which is similar to these fixes, that seems to fixed this drain. Only 3% overnight! I hope if anyone is having a similar issue and nothing else has work, that this helps you.

Edit: also made it possible to leave game suspended in sleep mode without massive drain. I never could do that before.

  1. Use a slow charger adapter with usb a to usb c cord. I have ports on my charging station with max 10w-15w charge. I used this. It doesn't need to be near empty, could be the last 20% if you're impatient.
  2. Let it charge to 100% than keep it plugged in with slow charge for 2-4 hours after that. Time needed will depends how poorly calibrated the battery is when you start. If any of the cells in the battery are not charged fully this gives the bms time to slowly fill and even out all the cells. With the slower power supply this means less heat to be managed by the battery. Seems to work more effectively too.
  3. Keep it plugged in, power off the device. Enter recovery mode. Hold vol+ and vol-, then click power. Keep holding volume buttons until you see the recovery menu. Once there you can power off again and load normally.
  4. When loaded check if the percentage still reads 100%. If it does, you are done and can unplug it. If it has changed after recovery mode, charge back to 100%, leave it like that for another hour. Then return to step 3 and try again.

I am pleased with the results doing this and hope it could help someone else. I know not everyone has this issue, depends on your device, (some have worse issues with bms), and how you use it. For instance mine is rarely in the dock and is only played handheld. Either way, I'd be glad if it helped even one person. This battery reading issue has really been my only negative with this device.

Tavern Talk or Dreamwalker first

I am wondering now that Tavern Talk prequel Dreamwalker is out should I play this first, then the original game. Or should I still play them in release order. If anyone has played both, perhaps has an opinion. It might be nice to play chronologically, but maybe it is not intended that way.

Sound quality

I am using jellyfin to play my videos locally. Despite this the sound quality is always lower and poorer on here than Potplayer. I have adjusted settings I've seen others mention. Such as downgrading to stereo, turning off sound normalizer. However nothing works. Seems as if it is still lowering and normalizing sound. Please either suggestion other settings I can change, plugins, or even a way to open directly onto Potplayer. I am using the windows app. Thanks.

Recently I began having an issue where if my computer has been on for a bit, moonlight won't be able to connect to pc. ( I'm talking hours, maybe less, not days since I shut it off at night). I have tried restarting sunshine, moonlight, manually reconnecting. I've tested the connection which says it is fine. I have a static ip. The only thing that works is to restart the computer. I'd rather not have to restart it anytime I want to use moonlight, or when I leave my computer for a bit. Also, to note, the computer hasn't gone to sleep during this time either. It just only work when I first start the pc. Don't know how long needs to pass for it to stop connecting, but not long it seems, and it always does this. I'm not sure what is causing it. I don't think I've changed anything since the issue started occurring. Any suggestions are welcomed. Thanks.
