I did something quick and silly for clone-tober Day 8 Med Bay
This crossed my feed and my first thought was R or D? Does this mean I am fluent now?
This is why I love Black series! They make such good figure models!
This was a piece I did for a noir styled short story inspired by a piece of art entitled: Lounge Bar by artist Brent Lynch.
Note: I am not very good at art yet! But I am learning a lot, and having a reference helps so much. I have used Black series figures in a few pieces and they are absolutely saving me!

Love this absolute Lemon of a starship from the GFFA so much I did an art piece of it for a story that features it!
Here's a snippet from that story if you like!

In a no name town
On a backwater world deep in the Outer Rim
Garo the Hutt’s Place
He’d always hated laughter. Especially when it was directed at him. Kov'nyn, Mandalorian son of clan Kote, known to the few beings close to him as Kov’n, was trying very hard not to let his shab’laam of a life flash before his eyes as his blood was trying to rush to his head.
He looked up to where his booted foot was caught in a loop of lassoed wire slung over one of the old building’s rafters. The other end of the wire was currently being held firmly in the clawed hand of a nasty brute of a Trandoshan by the name of Kess’taa, who was currently working as Garo the Hutt's head enforcer.
The stupid osik eater had a beady eyed grin plastered over his saurian face as he waited eagerly for the signal from Garo to let go.
Kov’n craned his helmeted head back and looked down in to the pit beneath him where a gaggle of extremely hungry akk hounds snapped their drooling jaws up at him, worrying at one another as they jostled for a better place to be first to the feast when their master got tired of playing with their dinner.
The Hutt’s laughter rang out as Kess’taa let the wire slip a few inches and Kov’n reflexively threw his hands wide.
It seemed laughter had always followed him. From his first decade or so living in the slums and back alleys on Concord Dawn, when the only name he'd ever known had been given by his peers. It had been Shab'laam, a Mando'a vulgarity, slang for a situation that had gone… sideways. Even at the time he'd had to acknowledge, it was apt enough.
Then one day he'd hit the jackpot. He'd gotten caught picking the pocket of the wrong Mandalorian. His response to the sudden grip on his arm had been to reflexively headbut the man who would, in time, become his Alor, his clan head. While his impetuousness had eventually gotten him a new home and his new name, (Kov’nyn meaning headbut,) at the time it had just gotten him a bloody nose, a newfound respect from the sturdiness of beskar, and a rousing chorus of laughter.
But now, as the deep chuckle of the Hutt was joined by the tittering scorn of his entourage, Kov'n suddenly found he firmly felt that twenty five years of his shab'laam of a life still hadn't been quite enough for him.
“Come on, Garo,” he said as he worked his neck muscles to keep the blood flowing to his helmet to a minimum. “it's not like you to be so unreasonable. I thought we were friends.”
[We aren't good enough friends to cover your blatant disrespect of our arrangement,] the Hutt growled in huttese, and he took a long drag from the foul smelling Shisha pipe that sat beside him.
“But I'm only a few payments behind!” He exclaimed. “Look Garo, I can tell you’re in a bad mood today. But where’s your little Kowakian Monkey-Lizard fella? Eh? He always cheers you up so…”
Garo just glared at him with a sudden wrath that struck the mandalorian silent. “It…died,” the Hutt grumbled.
Kov’n swallowed hard. “Oh shab,” he thought to himself.
“Ok, touchy subject I see that.” Kov’n said placatingly. “But be reasonable! I’m gona pay you back. And you know what happened on the spaceport job wasn't my fault! Somebody warned that Sullustan I was coming for him.”
Kov'n shot a quick glare at the grinning Transoshan who was currently holding his slender lifeline. Unfortunately his accusation was lost behind his helmet.
[That's no concern of mine,] the Hutt growled petulantly. [I will be taking the rest of my credits back when I sell your trashy little ship.]
"Now wait a minute, Garo!” Kov'n shouted as the Transoshan gave a yank on the line making him wobble like a broken string toy. “You only leant me half the credits for it! What about the half that's mine!?”
[I'll return the balance to whatever the akk hounds leave behind,] Garo said with an evil smirk. He waved a hand at Kess’taa. [Slowly now!] the slug said with a chuckle. [I want to savor this.] ....
As the lizard slowly let the cord slide from between his claws Kov’n let his head drop back with a sigh. It was time to play the game.
With a casual motion he reached into a pouch on his bandoleer and pulled out a thin little white cylinder, a death stick. “Come on, Garo,” he said pleadingly. “You wouldn't deny a dead man one last indulgence would you?”
The Hutt chuckled and signaled to the Trandoshan. With an irritated snarl he stopped letting the wire play out.
Kovn did his best not to look relieved. He tipped his helmet back just enough to get the Death stick in his mouth as the watchers set up in bawdy cheers. “That's right Mando,” one of the dancing girls shouted, “show us some skin.”
“Maybe next time, dala,” Kov’n said with a grin as he held the stick in his teeth. He managed to casually pull out a packet of flame strikers and lit one on his free boot. No mean feat while hanging upside down, but he managed to make it look easy.
Not that he'd actually be letting her see under his helmet of course he reflected as he lit up. “Her loss,” he thought. He quietly puffed a few times and exhaled a cloud of acrid grey smoke. His Alor was one of the few clan heads that truly kept to the old ways. And that outdated creed was the bane of his existence. He’d always privately thought himself handsome, and he'd been told he had a very nice jawline by the few ladies he'd made…little exceptions for.
He took another deep drag on the death stick as he thought furiously. He didn’t owe the Hutt that much, the archaic, dilapidated Hyperdyne 578-R had been a real bargain. And he’d been late on payments before so the Hutt’s ire had come as a surprise. Maybe it was just the dead pet, or maybe Kov’n was simply being made an entertaining example for the Hutt’s cronies.… if so he was sunk. But it was just possible Garo was angling for something else with this show. As he looked around the room of expectant watchers, he sincerely hoped so. Game on then, he decided, and puffed one last cloud of smoke as he gave a casual wave at Kess’taa. “Alright lizard breath, in your own time.”
Kess’taa looked confused at his prey’s newfound nonchalance, and a lot less delighted in his task. He looked questioningly at Garo who just gave a slow nod even as he looked sideways at Kov’n.
As Kov’n started descending towards the hounds below again he crossed his arms casually and remarked, “You really must be in a bad mood, Garo. It's not like you to waste a resource on petty revenge.”
[Whatever do you mean, boy?] Garo said with a half smile as the hounds set up in an excited ruckus.
“Well,” he said, breathing out another cloud of smoke as the snarling grew closer. "You've clearly got me over a barrel so stop playing around. I know you've got something nasty that needs doing.”
Garo looked performatively thoughtful for a long moment. Too long for comfort. Kov'n tried not to flinch as the jaws below began to snap nearer and nearer. He took one last drag on the death stick and put his head back to puff a cloud of smoke disdainfully toward the creatures below him when his descent suddenly stopped.
[Knock that off!] the voice of the Hutt rang out. [It's bad for my animals!] Suddenly the rope around his ankle gave a jerk and he was pulled up and out of the pit to face the Hutt again. The slug’s face was now plastered with a wide ugly grin and suddenly Kov’n wasn't sure if he was any safer up here.
[You’re in luck, boy,] he said with an amused snarl. [It just so happens I do have a job the guilds won't touch. So let's see if you can be as useful as you claim.]
“Oh... Shab,” Kov’n thought.

We've talked lots and lots about the tasty yummies and best looking noms in the Galaxy Far Far Away. Now I want to know, what are the foods you think look or sound absolutely disgusting? What Star Wars fodder wouldn't you even poke with a pair of Asogian grub sticks?
(No hate for the last one please! It's just a joke!)
So I need recommendations for a good species for a bouncer at the Star Wars equivelant of a Speakeasy. The place is distantly owned by a small Hutt Syndicate, run by a Bith, and is situated in a relatively developed world in the Outer Rim.
I would love something fairly intelligent, with a beefy build, but something closer to near human that wouldn’t be out of place guarding an upscale establishment so no Gamorreans, And I can’t do a Trandoshan, Besalisk, or a Weequay. Because I have them in other places and would prefer not to reuse them.
Any ideas?
