Anyone have experience with surrogacy agencies in Mexico?

Just started looking into Mexico as an option for our next surrogacy. As US ones are getting so expensive, and we heard that Mexico is getting more popular. But it seems that it involves quite more complexities than US ones.

If you've worked with a Mexican agency or looked into it, how was the experience? Any agencies you'd recommend or avoid? Any words of wisdom?

I also heard some people matching independently in Mexico, but that sounds even challenging, so would probably still prefer to go with an agency (but would still love to hear experiences with doing it independently in Mexico too, if anyone here has done it before.)

What would convince you to go independent?

I've noticed there's kind of an imbalance in surrogacy. A lot of intended parents are open to independent journeys, but way fewer surrogates are. I guess from the surrogate side, going through an agency has limited downside. They handle the logistics, the matching, the paperwork.

But I'm curious: Is there anything that would actually convince you to go independent?

Anyone else had experience with independent journey?

Long story short, we were essentially forced to go independent for our surrogacy journey after a bad experience with an agency. Honestly it was scary at first, but thankfully all worked out. So for us, it's basically a half agency journey and half independent. Wondering if anyone else had experience with independent journey, esp if you choose it that way.

Gay parents: One thing that surprised you about caring for a newborn?

For us, one thing that really (pleasantly) surprised me was how quickly we were able to get on a plane with a newborn. We expected everything to feel fragile and complicated for a long time, but it turned out we were traveling much sooner than we ever imagined.

It made me realize how many assumptions I had going into the newborn stage.

What surprised you most in those early weeks?

Could be sleep, feeding, bonding, travel, or something totally unexpected we didn’t even think about.

Have you noticed attitudes toward surrogacy changing?

Maybe it's just my experience, but surrogacy seems much more accepted today than it was even 5 years ago, and I live in a socially conservative area.

When I first heard about surrogacy, it felt like something many people viewed as unusual or misunderstood. These days, I notice far more awareness and support, especially as more families openly share their fertility journeys and more people personally know someone who has been a surrogate or worked with one.

Have you noticed a shift in your area or social circles?

  • Is surrogacy becoming more accepted where you live?
  • Are people more informed about the process than they used to be?
  • Do you think changing attitudes will encourage more women to consider becoming surrogates in the future?

I'd love to hear whether others are seeing the same trend or if your experience has been different.

What role do out-of-bounds planets play in your practice?

Hello advanced astrologers! I've been digging into declinations recently and came across the concept of out-of-bounds planets. I understand the astronomical definition, but I'm less certain about how much interpretive value people actually give them in practice.

My tentative impression is that an OOB planet might operate somewhat outside its usual boundaries. Not necessarily stronger, but perhaps less constrained by convention or by the normal expression of that planet. For example, I could imagine an OOB Mercury showing up as an unusual way of thinking, or an OOB Mars expressing itself in ways that don't fit typical Mars descriptions.

What got me wondering is OOB Uranus. Uranus is already associated with disruption, independence, and breaking patterns, so I'm curious whether astrologers see an OOB Uranus as meaningfully different from an ordinary Uranus placement, or whether that's reading too much into it.

Do any of you actively use OOB planets in chart work? Have you found them consistently descriptive, or is this one of those techniques that sounds compelling but doesn't hold up particularly well in practice? I previously asked in a different sub, but apparently no one can answer well and they suggested that I ask here, so hopefully experts can chime in. Thank you!

What does it mean if my Uranus is Out of Bound?

I'm recently learning a bit more about classical astrology technicals and realize my Uranus is OOB. What does that mean for my chart? Do y'all use out of bound in your reading. Any insights regarding that, or general insights about my chart would be appreciated!

Will surrogacy costs keep rising? Here's my take (and I'd love yours)

Surrogacy costs in the US have been rising dramatically over the past few years - I remember seeing an article on FamilyVale on this, and the comparison is pretty shocking. Do y'all think costs will keep climbing, or are we heading toward some kind of plateau?

Arguments for continued rise: general inflation seems to continue. Arguments against: international surrogacy is becoming more mainstream, and that added competition seems to be putting some real downward pressure on costs.

How to interpret this polar chart

Does anyone here have expertise in interpreting a polar chart like this? I have been trying to figure it out with chatGPT, but not sure how much I got it correct. I know first I have Nunki and moon in life palace, so that means intuitively perceptive but fundamentally yin-oriented, which sounds accurate to me. What's the next best thing to go from here? I have received some conflicting info so a bit lost. Any help would be appreciated!

What motivated you the most to become a surrogate

Let’s be real. it’s almost never just one reason. But among everything that went into this decision, what was the one thing that pushed you over the edge, to make this major decision that may give others the most beautiful gift they receive in life?

Two dads or two moms: same title or different ones?

Wondering how other families handle this. Do you both go by the same thing — Dad and Dad, Mom and Mom — or did you pick different titles so your kid can tell you apart?

If you went different, how'd you land on them? Curious whether it was intentional or just sort of happened. (For our family, we went with different ones.)

Best age to explain kids their birth via surrogacy

We’ve heard many different things. Our babies at 5 have been asking about mom, and we attempted to explain to them that their “mom“ helped us have children, but never really got to explain surrogacy in details to them. they already seemed a bit confused. When do y’all think is the best age to explain to kids that they were born via surrogacy?

Hello! I saw multiple posts offering and requesting free charting reading in this community. Some free charting reading does suggest donations. How do folks find the quality of those free readings here? And when is reasonable to ask or give donations?
