Big Bear Place Near Skiing

Ok, please hit me with a reality shot!

How much of a nightmare would it be to live this close to the skiing place?

https://www.zillow.com/homedetails/775-Summit-Blvd-4-Big-Bear-Lake-CA-92315/455659681_zpid/

It says it's 150 steps away from Snow Summit. Look at the Zillow link above and scroll down on the photos, you can see the skiing area.

I am a total novice in the ways of skiing, mountain skiing, etc.

Looking at the photos, I wonder how much of a nightmare it would be during skiing season.

The only upside I can see is that I don't need to drive to ski?

Give me a reality shot!

My First Sponsored Product Manual Targeting Advertising

Hello,

I created a sponsored product manual targeting (ie, via ASIN) for a Halloween book a couple of days ago, and I chose 40 books to target.

So far it seems it's being delivered but nothing is moving. No clicks, no anything else.

Any advice?

List All Economical Disadvantages of Big Bear

This post is not a slight against Big Bear.

It's for people on a tight budget and considering the move to Big Bear due to low rents.

I've read a few posts already, and it seems so far that the biggest negatives are:

  • Outages which can be solved by having generators
  • Tourists slam which can be solved by just hanging out at the house
  • Winter driving which can be solved by having a AWD

However, the budget is so tight, that I want to know what else I need to know.

For example the AWD - we don't have one, and not sure if we have room in our budget for buying an older one or leasing one.

A lot of houses that have low rents don't seem to have a garage and their houses are already furnished. It's a disadvantage if you don't want to store your current furniture at storage because that brings in another monthly cost.

Talk to me, people, locals, expats, visitors, etc, please! I want all points of views.

Thank you!

EDIT: wanted to add the following information.

  • we wanted to be able to ski in winter and were thinking of buying used skis for this
  • hoping to boat in summer so to speak and was thinking of buy a used small motor boat, you know the small metallic one with the visible motor in back and absolutely no shade at all?
  • I have absolutely no experience in driving in snow, but my husband knows how to drive in snow

Basically, our budget is so tight that we were hoping to take advantage of the nature of Big Bear and some physical activities but not joking that our budget is super tight ...
