UA556 rockstar captain

Flying out of Newark today.

Just as it was about to get really messy, and after getting the “hold up” messages from ATC, the captain comes on and tells us…”don’t worry, I’m going to figure this out. We are going to get you to Houston”

This was the pilot version of “I’ve got a guy”.

Sure enough, he locks in this ridiculous routing and heads to the runway minutes before they called a stop.

“If you look out the window and see the ocean, don’t worry, I’m not lost”

First time EWR>IAH was mostly over water.

The OFFICIAL r/Salary Career Tier List for Q3 2026

Criteria include pay, difficulty of attaining a career within a given field, and future outlook of the field.

Not much has changed. Healthcare is still DOMINATING the US economy, it’s easily the best field to be in and will be for the foreseeable future. White collar work continues to get decimated, manual labor is still low paying garbage for the most part.

Discuss.

Here's where things stand with the city wanting to charge a fee every time a student pilot lands

I know this may seem wild niche / not relevant to most, but the implications of this is if it was allowed to go through being it sets a precedent for every airport to do so, making already very expensive training that much more so.
