Avatar Kuruk: Wave of Chaos art style is...

I did not expect Avatar Kuruk series would have this art style. They are definitely trying to appeal to younger generations than older fans. I just thought because of Kuruk's journey as an older avatar, I'd expect a more mature look to his series.

this is not a hate post. Just an observation that they are definitely focusing on younger audience and expanding the fanbase to be larger and wider.

Kuruk looks either 1-2 years younger, or the same as Aang in the beginning of the series but i cant really tell

what do yall think?

Why and how Tagah died, just cause Aang broke the staff?

One part of the Avatar Aang movie that I was asked by my friends, but can't find an answer to: why Tagah died at the end, and how he died, just because Aang broke the staff?

Tagah's power was created by the staff. When Aang broke the staff, the Denied lost their airbending power, and assuming Tagah's airbending ability as well.

Then why did he "turn into the mist and return to the eternal wind" at the end of the movie?? Yes he did use the power of the staff and got corrupted by it, but so did Aang.

Aang didn't dissolve into the mist after using and got corrupted by the staff. He just returned to his normal self.

Wouldn't the logic should be: after Aang broke the staff, Tagah lost his airbending power, turned into a normal human. Then the Gaang can just imprison him.

What are your theories? Am I missing something? I've watched the movie at least 5 times already.

A new water Avatar in the next series?

As some of you may know, there is an on-going project of a water Avatar before Aang and even before Kuruk - project currently named "Red Thunder" Source below.

In the newest post made by the Production Designer of the Avatar Aang movie, Jake Panian, he "teased" a photo that was part of the end credit shots and named the avatar in the scene "Luyu" with a suspicious 👀

Could this be the new Avatar that will appear in that on-going project?

25 yr-old Aang and his marble trick

Thanks to the Avatar Aang movie's Production Designer Jake Panian, we now have an updated look on Aang at 25 doing his iconic marble trick!!
The shot was just to test lighting direction in the scene, not a deleted scene or anything.

The second photo shows he's done the trick a few more times in the comics as well.

My close friend is unreliable and I'm unsure if I should include her in my wedding tea ceremony.

I've (28F) been having trouble with this close female friend (32F) for over 2 years. We've been friends for 3-4 years.
She's a great person, but as a friend, she can be selfish and ignorance to the impact of her actions.

I've been engaged for almost 10 months, and I know for sure that I want her at my bachelorette party, and we talked about this as well. She was excited and agreed. This was about a year ago.

A few months ago, we went on a trip oversea together, and she spent a lot on shopping, which is completely fine because so did I. In total, she spent $2000+ on shopping alone.

Back from the trip, I officially start planning my bachelorette, and being incredibly mindful of everyone's budget. I settled on an airbnb only 45 min drive from our area, its $200/person for a 3 days 2 nights trip, we'll share gas money. Excluding food and drinks (she doesn't drink, so it'll only be just food left, which will be 50-100/per). So it total, it'll be between $250-300 for the entire long weekend.

She learned this, and said she can't attend because her car got towed twice in less than 2 months (each time being $200 penalty fine).

I'm obviously sad and said I hope she can still consider to come.

A few weeks passed, I met up with her and while chatting, she mentioned she just bought a fitness ring (similar to Oura ring) for $200+ or something. I didn't say anything and just commented nice ring. But afterwards, I feel some type of ways...

Because she knew about this bachelorette trip almost a year ago, and agreed and appeared to be excited, but opted out due to lack of fund, but bought a ring that is the same amount as the bachelorette trip.

She is generally bad with money and withheld from our group hangouts due to lack of fund, and yet: she once spent $800+ USD in 1 night on online psychic to see if she has a future with an abusive ex. The online psychic happened twice or 3 times. And among other things.

Some other occasions that she came off as being selfish:

  1. she cried at my birthday party because an ex (from 3 years ago) texted her, and despite the girls telling her not to read it, she read the message and cried. The rest of the birthday was not the same
  2. She agreed to come help with my engagement party the week before, said she'd an urgent doctors appointment at 1pm and cant come until 3pm. She ended up coming at 7-7:30pm. When I asked how was the doctors appointment, she said she overslept and didnt go. I'd waited for her to come help because we only have a few friends to help with setting up the party.

She didnt apoloize for missing on helping with the party planning, nor texted me that she overslept. She just showed up late and joined the party.

3.

  1. She was late to 2 of my bridal dress try-on sessions (which she knew about the time and locations beforehand). Her reason was she was busy doing some shopping and lost track of time.

She'd agreed to be a bridesmaid to a traditional tea ceremony, and even tried on the traditional dress. Now I'm rethinking if I should exclude her due to her carelessness in our friendship, or should I just suck it up? She's already seen and tried on the tea ceremony dress, it seems cruel to exclude her now.

What should I do?

How to navigate a female friendship

Avatarian and the language in Avatar Universe

I want to create a discussion and a minor rant on my part, on how Avatar Studios is moving forward with the written language being used in this universe.

I own the ATLA Animation book and have always loved how they use Chinese language in everything in the original series - poster, tags, calendar, store signs, name (Aang is Chinese for Peace for godsake).

And recently, I read this amazing post that reignite that appreciation for the use of chinese language and the different interpretation and meaning of the words when broken down, or read it differently.
https://www.reddit.com/r/ATLA/s/rOrUSAhDMn

And now hearing Avatar Studios created "Avatarian" as the official language of this universe... it irks me in a weird way. To be clear, I have nothing against the language, and love the idea they are taking this universe more seriously and expanding it even further. I just have a problem of them adding this new language in the movie and thus messed up the language timeline in this universe as a whole.

Having already seen the movie, I was confused and a bit shocked at the written language being shown in the movie, since it's not Chinese. And canonically, it's only been 13 years since the show ended, 13 years after 100-yr war, why would the world adopt a new written language NOW? Who would even have time to create something on this scale, and not focusing on rebuilding the world first???

What even weirder is, they were using Chinese language in TLoK. And because the movie took place in between the show and TLoK, there is absolutely no reason and makes no sense on why they need to introduce this language RIGHT NOW in this movie.

The language and structure of it would work so great for Seven Havens, since as we know the world is in an apocalyptic setting, lost media and culture and all that, so it'd make sense for the world to create a new language to communicate with each Havens differently.

The use of Avatarian in the movie is so abrupt and disjointed that it makes the universe look messy and incoherent. If the creators really want to build a proper universe to rival Star Wars, Star Trek, Lord of the Rings,... then they should stop retconning their previous media, work with what they have, think on a more logical and big picture way so the magic system and the Avatar world is airtight.

HELP! Wedding Dress Decision

Please if anyone can help me decide which dress should I go for or any feedback on the dresses. For context, I'll have a beach wedding in Vietnam.

The 3rd photo shows my inspiration - I always love lots of fabric draping and folding, and especially the incorporation of diff fabric texture - tulle, lace, etc.

#1. The first dress fits me very well and I do love it. The first dress also comes with a tulle train that can be attach and detach so I can move from ceremony to cocktail hour. BUT I think it's a bit too "cool white" while I love the warmer tone white more. Also I dont love the fabric on that dress, its not exactly lace, looks dull and somewhat not high-end. However, if I use the veil like I intended, maybe it will spice up the dress more, in terms of texture?

#2. The second dress is incredibly form fitting and the tailor is very skilled in doing corset. My only concern that it is a bit too simple for my taste. If any adjustment to the dress, it'll be very minimal and can't add too much draping or lacing.

#5 The last photo is my wedding venue. It's a traditional vietnamese tropical beach resort.

#6 photo is my wedding decor and vibe that the decor team drafted up.

Thank you in advance!!
