Who here has actually received business from LinkedIn?

Finding a lot of people in CRE posting about their personal life, trials, reflections, deals - whatever.. Does this actually translate into business? Sure, you may get a long of engagement and stats but that doesn't really mean much unless you are bring business in.

Is this actually working?

Do you still do a BOV for a overpriced deal? or stick to a call instead?

Just curious what others do if you spend the time creating a BOV to help articulate why the pricing expectations just are too high currently or do you just stick to a quick phone call and run through some of the numbers?

Removing social media apps and less phone time is game changer for sleep

I decided to remove all social media apps from my phone two weeks ago. I've felt way better and overall much more calm and relaxed throughout the day + resulting in improved sleep. Actually sleeping throughout most of the night.

Also using the greyscale theme on the iphone I think has helped too.

Just dropping this here in case it helps anyone.

What are you saying to bypass the ''reason for calling'' screener?

I usually state my name and property name and thats all. I've been getting through to some using this method. Curious if there is anything else that has worked?

CRE Tech New York - Thoughts about this event? Is it worth going?

How is this conference?

Would brokers/analysis get anything out of it? or is it most suited for softwave devs and prop tech companies?

How do you deal with an old grumpy seller, any tips?

Called an owner of an industrial building who is wanting to sell and retire and has another broker in his words ''on his a**'' about listing the property.

He basically just ranted the entire call. Suggesting brokers are overpaid doesn't want to do seller financing, wants a clean transaction etc.

How do you get through to people like this? Do you suggest meeting in person?

Its a small deal anyway but I'm just curious what methods have worked for a client like this...

Any self storage developers in this group?

What is your process on site selection? I've been using radius+ and tractIQ and they are helpful but how do you assemble this info?

Anything else to consider?

  • Frontage
  • Topography
  • Wetlands
  • Utility availability (water, sewer, electric)

When will there be repercussions for this?

I saw this on LinkedIn but also had a similar experience recently.

These companies need to be put on blast.

Company said ''we want to move forward'' then ghosts me for 2 weeks...

Had a few interviews with a company and several emails back and forth - last call I had was they specifically said they want to move forward but wanted me to travel to visit their office which I had no problem with (out of state).

Sent 3 emails since about travel schedule and confirming receipt of emails etc... still nothing.

Seems very unprofessional and even called the guy who interviewed me but went to VM.

Seems like they are reconsidering? Should I move on?

Surprised about the lack of AI discussion in this sub

Most posts regarding AI are around 1 year old in this sub. So I thought I'd share real use cases of what I'm working on right now.

Ask any questions.

  1. Building python scripts to interact with software that lacks APIs, automating deck creation, monitoring new developments in a market etc.

  2. Connecting Claude Code to my CRM to run data hygiene tests, import data, and understand where gaps exist.

  3. Setup Claude Projects for deals that become interactive workspaces with all the financials and discussion history for a client + build financial models.

Takeaways

  1. Document your internal processes then extract what is causing friction/redundant workflows.

  2. Audit your tech stack to determine if you need to build something custom, connect it in someway or setup a plan to replace it. Rethink your systems and how to bring them all together.

  3. You don't know what you don't know. AI is becoming as necessary as gmail or outlook. If you aren't using these tools and building (or at least someone on your team) then you're going to be left behind without even knowing it.

Worked remotely for the past 6 years.. Ask me anything

Felt like sharing some of what I learned along the way.

Anyone questions when it comes to this lifestyle, type of work, issues, anything.

Wheres the most random place you ''worked'' at?

Like the guy on social media who has the full setup but obviously for the views ... but it did get me thinking about who actually has had to work in the most random of places or in the midst of traveling to one country to another etc.

Any stories?
