Tendonitis in ankles

I'm almost 50 and have been dealing with flat feet my entire life. A few months ago, the pain got really bad and I went to a podiatrist. He recommended orthotics (which I now have and am getting used to) and said that I have tendonitis in my ankles.

My feet are feeling better with the orthotics, but my ankles are still killing me. It's a circle around both ankles, and they both have swelling on the inside and outsides.

Has anybody dealt with this type of thing? Does anything help long term?

Any dark chocolate lover bar substitutes?

I have been addicted to the dark chocolate lovers bar for years. After lunch, a few squares satisfy my chocolate craving without being too sweet. I even keep a bar shelved with my books just in case.

So it's killing me that they have been out for months and aren't coming back until late September!! Any recommendations for substitutes? I love that they aren't too sweet or too bitter and have a hint of vanilla.

For people with custom orthotics, how did you find shoes that fit?

I am in the process of getting used to custom orthotics from my podiatrist. I've been having less foot pain, but did get a bad blister on one foot from them. I went to the podiatrist yesterday and he blamed the shoes I was using. He said that there was too much of a gap between the back of the shoe and the orthotic.

I put them into a different pair of shoes, (Brooks) but the same thing is happening. I'm frustrated because I feel like he isn't offering much guidance. It seems like the insert in the sneakers have a little bit of a curve at the heel, but isn't that how all shoes are? How did you find shoes that fit the orthotics?

Have you hired somebody to deep clean your LR? How did you find them?

I have two LR4s. I clean the globes and wipe them down every few weeks, but have back issues, so struggle with the deep clean. I would like to hire somebody to do it for me, but am not sure how to find somebody. I've considered asking my house cleaner, or searching Taskrabbit, but would love to hear other people's experiences if you've hired somebody.

How are you connecting your LG Gram to multiple monitors?

I bought my LG Gram about three years ago. Since I need multiple monitors for my work, I was upset to find out, after buying that laptop, that there wasn't an available docking station. I bought a DisplayLink and it has mostly worked in connecting to two montiors, a camera, and charging my laptop. But recently, the charging function doesn't always work, and today I had to reset everything in order to get my two monitors to connect.

Is there a better docking option available? What have you done to solve this problem?

Has Tovola done a good job resolving issues?

I have been using Tovola for a few weeks. I was in love, until yesterday, when my delivery only came with three meals, two of which were incomplete. I emailed them last night, but haven't heard back. It's frustrating because I was counting on them for my meals this week.

What have your experiences been getting them to resolve issues?

I keep feeling like the "normal" things I'm doing are for the last time

I was at the grocery story a few weeks ago and started wondering how many more times I'd be able to go to a store and see full shelves and all of the options that, as an American, I've grown up being used to.

Last weekend I flew to visit my parents, who are in their 80's and not in the best health. I started to realize I might not be able to hop on a plane to see them, with the fuel crisis and their age/situation.

I think that the combined crises in the world, along with the psychopaths who are running it, are speeding up collapse, and by the end of the year (or sooner) the world that we're used to is going to be a thing of the past.

I feel like I'm being torn in half - planning for normalcy and for collapse. I buy emergency food and water, at the same time I'm booking airline flights for trips that I don't think are going to happen. It's getting harder and harder to keep it together, when the two parts of my brain are focused on such completely different things.

I don't live in Petaluma anymore, but trying to help my aging parents. Do you know if there are any local, healthy meal delivery services?
