What was your last straw?
Those of you who are now no-contact, what finally did it?
I feel like I forgave my Nbrother for his abuse, without ever receiving an apology, dozens and dozens of times.
Of all the hurtful things said to me throughout my life, the worst always came from him. I could tell it was prepared material that he had been sitting on for years waiting for the right moment.
The last time I saw him, I had started to recognize the patterns. It became clear that not only was he fully aware of what he was doing, he was doing it on purpose. He was drinking so much and so frequently that the quality of his manipulation suffered. He couldn't gaslight without making it obvious. He was telegraphing all of his moves. I could spend 2 minutes with him and figure out that he came into the room for the sole purpose of baiting me into an argument.
I could no longer tell myself that it was something he couldn't help. My body was having a physiological reaction to his emotional abuse, that's what did it. Heart racing, hands trembling. I said, "no more."
New to the club
Bought a '22 w/ 17k miles. Owner moving out of the country and didn't want to sell it. ETS intake. Perrin TMIC, charge pipe, inlet, AOS, strut brace, pitch stop mount, diff bushings, shift stop & brass shifter bushing.
Dmann 93 e-tune.
I've wanted one of these cars since the early 2000s and I feel like I've fallen backwards into a really sweet deal. All I've done is add some OEM stuff: all weather floor mats, wind deflectors, moon roof wind deflector, mud flaps. Just put smoked films on the reverse/turn signals.
I'm late 30s and glad the exhaust is stock. It doesn't attract unwanted attention.
I'm just really excited about the car I guess. People in my real life don't get it.
New to me
This car is new to me. '22 with 17k miles. Previous owner did Cobb stage 2 mods with Dmann 93 e-tune w/AOS.
Similar setups are getting 310-330 whp.
I just added the OEM rain guards and mud flaps, 4th brake light... OEM all weather floor mats.
Not pictured: Perrin pitch stop mount and PU rear diff bushings, Perrin shift stop and brass shifter bushing.
I'm just so excited. I've had the car for 2 weeks and it's been a blast. I've wanted a wrx since I was like 13 and the bugeye wagons were brrrrrt-ing around.
Let's talk about this plastic cladding
Obviously I want to keep it from fading in the sun. I don't want to look like walter white's Pontiac Astek in 5 years. I've hit it with some UV protectant and I really like the shine (see above).
You're supposed to reapply every month or so, but it gets the clear cost kind of greasy and it's a bit of a pain on the front and rear bumpers- lots of nooks and crannies.
Has anyone used the Cerakote "permanent" treatment. How bad was the application process? Any other products worth checking out?
P.S. just got the OEM wind deflectors and I'm incredibly pleased with them! Zero rattle. Easy install. Love the option to crack the windows when parked in the heat.
I have wanted one of these cars for 25 years.
Can't get it inspected and tagged until Friday. It's in my driveway taunting me while I take the last few spins in the hoopty.
