M64 console update 1.26.0 is live, and this one has a few things we know a lot of you have been waiting for. Quick patch notes first, then we’ll dig into the bigger updates. Thank you to all for your patience and continued support while we work to bring you updates!
Patch notes
Console Built-in CPak
M64 now has one Controller Pak "file" built into the console itself, so you can save without a physical pak.
Controller & Rumble Pak selection from the menu
You can now choose between CPak or Rumble Pak per controller from a dropdown in the M64 menu.
Forced Progressive mode
This weaves 480i (interlaced) frames into 480p (progressive). It only kicks in for games that have a 480i mode. A few that do (not a complete list):
Runs cooler
M64 now uses less power across the board, so it will run cooler. It'll still get warm while you play, and this doesn't change performance, just heat.

I'd like to pick one up at a reasonable price. Color doesn't matter, and I'm fine with or without the SuperDock. If you bought one and decided it's not for you, let me know what you have and what you're looking to get for it. After much discussion and further research I've landed with a Mister clone instead, it'll work out better for my use case.
As far as discussion goes for those that don't want to get rid of theirs but did realize it's not for them. Why? Never had a mister but always wanted one.

Love that even the menu has the masks applied to it, would love for it to work that way with the built in options so we could better see how the scanlines and details are being applied on a pixel level.
Anyways here are some screen shots, I'm using a clean profile modified with everything set to nothing and all the lower toggles at default so still getting some bilinear filtering and anti-aliasing. Pixel art graphics look amazing of course, but even 3D graphics are looking good. My profiles save so at least I won't have to do it again.
I'm using a Morph 4k HDMI scaler that's downscaling the image to 240p, applying vertical and horizontal interpolation softening, with a coarse mask filter and some scanlines applied to an HDR color profile. I don't see any reason why we won't be able to achieve this, or better, with some firmware updates.
I'd like to free back up the slot on my HDMI switcher so c'mon u/grilledstuffedxxl, let's get there.
Seeing everything lined up fitting oh so perfectly feels real nice. Time for some Xibalba!

Going to hook it up to a Morph 4k to upscale and add in some pixel filters and I am unreasonably excited, just waiting for my HDCP bypass splitter to arrive.
Also upgraded my old Dualshock 4 with new sticks, triggers, thumb grips and a bigger battery so we are really good to go! It was looking pretty tired from its Destiny days but now it's looking almost brand new.
The question now is, what's going to be its first game to play?
