The pink and white dress is certainly an interesting choice. I swear I saw this exact doll on eBay a while back and if this is the same one, she was over $300 or else I would've tried to buy her π

Casta was the one who was originally going to be in the Fierce Rockers two pack with Catty. It was of course changed later to have Toralei be included with Catty instead, which I, as a HUGE Toralei fan, don't mind at all!
This Casta looks pretty cool though and it would've been interesting if we'd gotten her instead.
I have to say I really like these hair colors on Nefera! They look so familiar to me, like I've seen similar hair on another doll?? Or maybe I'm mistaken lol
I think the final doll we got is awesome, but as usual, this prototype is interesting to me too! I wonder if they would've kept the same makeup colors if they'd gone with this hair? From what I can tell this makeup looks to be exact to the makeup on the final doll.
The differences between the concept art, the prototype, and the final product are...wow! The concept art is so detailed!! The final doll isn't bad at all, I actually own Birthday Ball Duchess and she's a really great doll! But comparing her to the concept art, it's a shame Birthday Ball was mostly a budget line, y'know.
There aren't many differences between the prototype and the final doll that I can see, it's mainly the headband and the shoes that are different and it's mostly due to the prototype having more detailing on the headband and the final doll having more detailing on the shoes.
I think she's kinda cool! I like the color change hair, I just really like color change stuff in general π
Blue hair looks good on Meeshell too I think! The dress is okay, but I think it could be better, maybe if it was a different shade of pink or had a few more colors added?
This is the sort of thing I love to research!! All the details in a prototype that either didn't make it to the final product or were tweaked somewhat (and everything in between). I LOVE the black Hissfits shirt as a sort of t-shirt dress?? That's what it looks like it's supposed to be, especially in the top pic where it's on the doll. Also Sweet Fangs with a mohawk (kinda)?? We were robbed.
Sorry for the Toralei spam, she's just my favorite character, but I swear I'll be posting more about other characters too! π
I LOVE HER OMG SHE'S SO PRETTY!!!! That dress is great, this whole outfit is just awesome!! I like the final doll, but I honestly prefer this look.
I love her so much!! I really like the black streaks in her hair and the brown tip at the end of her tail. It looks like there might be some white detailing on the toes of her shoes too? Her jacket also looks like it's made of a shinier material than the final jacket? Or maybe it's just the lighting, I'm not sure.

I finally have all the G3 Toralei figures!! At least the ones that have been released so far. I'm so glad we FINALLY got a new sculpt for Toralei!! It's fun to compare them and take in all the differences and even some similarities between them!
These are the first of any prototypes I ever bought. These are prototype Creeproduction Toralei hands! I've had these for a while now (I don't even live at the place where this picture was taken anymore), but I still wanted to share here because these are just so cool to have!
At this point in time I don't have any complete doll prototypes- complete as in a fully clothed prototype doll with the outfit and accessories and all that- But I do have some more smaller prototype pieces that I'll be sharing here! π
Kicking off the community with some Monster High G1 prototypes! These were used to show retailers what they would be selling in their stores. Examples for retailers, basically. I've always thought they were pretty awesome!!
Something interesting I've always thought about Clawdeen specifically is that her ears seem to be attached to a black headband instead of being part of her head mold. Not sure why, but it's certainly interesting!

I am very interested in prototypes in general, they've always been cool to me. I even have a few prototype pieces in my collection! I couldn't find a community solely dedicated to prototypes, so I'm considering starting one myself. Would that be of interest to anyone else? The community would be all about Monster High prototypes specifically, from all generations. Thoughts?

Went to a Dollar General I'd never been to before and they had a really nice selection of DVDs and Blu-rays. Unfortunately I didn't have time to do a very thorough search, but I managed to score Ghostbusters and The Magnificent Seven!

I actually first saw the Monster High balloon a few days ago, they had one inflated with the other display balloons and I immediately went over to the rack where they have the packaged ones to buy and couldn't find any of the MH ones. Then I went back to Winn-Dixie today and went to look again just to check and lo and behold, not only did they have the Monster High balloon, they had these Ever After High ones too!! I can't remember the last time I saw EAH merch in the wild and at a grocery store no less, but it was really cool to find these! I decided to get two of each in case I one day decide to inflate two, then I'd still have one of each in the packaging for my collection
I've been a huge fan of Pipkins for years and I've wanted this complete DVD set for a long time now. I'm an American, so Pipkins isn't a show I grew up with and I first heard about it in a YouTube video about creepy children's show characters that mentioned Hartley. I fell in love with the show and scoured the internet to find as many episodes as I could and it's a show I've grown very fond of. And last week I found a listing for this complete collection from a US based seller for under $80, no way was I going to pass it up! It finally arrived today and I am beyond thrilled to have this in my physical media collection!!
I have a duel DVD/Blu-ray player that I got for my birthday and the DVD function is region free, so I knew there would more than likely be no issues with these disks working in my player. I was still a bit nervous though since these are my first non-US region DVDs. But I popped the first disk in and it played beautifully!
SO excited to finally own this awesome collection of a wonderful show that everyone should check out if they can.
Managed to snag her Saturday, I'm so glad I was able to get her! I was genuinely shocked that my local Walmart still had plenty of dolls in stock that were marked down to $15, I'd thought for sure they'd have cleared out their stock by now. I'm hoping I can get Frankie for 15 before they are sold out.
I FINALLY got these three last week! I've been wanting them for a while now and Walmart had them for $15 each. I was kind of surprised to see Cleo on sale already since my store hasn't been selling her all that long, but still, no way was I going to pass up these three. Also I know Buttercup isn't a Monster High doll, but I couldn't make this post in r/dolls, I'm still trying to get used to how Reddit works and I guess I can't make posts there quite yet.
