Elizabeth's powers
I think it's pretty cool that, even though the show is obviously heightened aesthetically, Elizabeth has supernatural powers because she can control butterflies 🦋, and she can also have premonitions and visions — some sort of ESP. Her ability to sense Peter's death and the cold... and find precisely where he was, and ably swim in the freezing water without shivering much after. She can nimbly navigate her way through almost every situation and turn it to her opportunity, or at least survive until the next thing, even though clearly she has been through a lot of death around her. Also to add to that, I like how they revealed at the end that she could also "see" Peter the Great (although this might've just been her interpretation).
I like her changing expressions, like how she would go from aloof to really concerned and have sage advice, even if some of it was pretty cryptic. Her screaming in threes (AHHH AHHH AHHH) and also her dancing away were some of my favorite scenes. She always enhanced any scene partner she had, and the tenseness with witty wordplay with Gillian Anderson was off the charts.. Belinda Bromilow — such a talent!
Missed merch opportunity? 🍷
I was looking back at the merch that was made for The Great and the prop auctions and such. I'm surprised they never introduced a set of drinking glasses that were designed to be safely smashed while you and friends declare "HUZZAH!!!"
Alternative Thuma-compatible headboards that fit into the frame?
Friendly greetings, wondering if there've been any personal experiences with headboards from other companies that fit into the Thuma? Needs to be one that actually secured into the frame — NOT freestanding or wall-mounted.
I was looking at this Resident one and I like the look, but the dimensions seem a bit off. Looking to find a more economical and perhaps aesthetically different solution, and would be very appreciative of any firsthand advice.
Mike Myers (Goldmember) x Tom Cruise (Digger)
You really have to compare the mannerisms in action, a still doesn't do this justice. See the Digger trailer and see if you can stop yourself from shouting "GOOOOLD!". It's even more fitting now that you realize that Tom Cruise had a cameo in Goldmember.

Never Change! (2026) - underrated rollicking comedy with bizarre dialog
Never Change! geez — this movie should be showing up on more lists of eclectic humor. It's SOOO OMG funny. If you're into Tim Robinson-style absurdist weird speaking, or even Yorgos Lanthimos, that Greek dude, where humans don't feel like they're really from this planet and give each other strange looks... the whole movie is like that, hilariously, and it's a highly specific niche.
It's a cascading, rollicking stream of non-sequitur after another, with lots of wordplay and sight gags. The plot is mundane on its own (trying to relive high school), but it's special because of all the bizarre bits. There are visual gags too, like a certain Sean Connery/Nic Cage nod à la The Rock, if you caught it, you have my gratitude. It's got a bit of that Stepbrothers + Adam Sandler camaraderie and chaos. I'd also liken it to the Joseph Kahn style, like Ick and Detention.
This is an American High production, and some of the rapid-fire gags recall Pizza Movie, which got more attention. If you liked that one, check this out. BTW, note some of the sets — you'll spot familiarities there for good reason.
