Where do I start with producing music on GarageBand as a beginner?

1 month ago I tried producing music on gargaeband and tbh the instruments are a lot better than other free apps I've tried it's just no matter what I tried most of my instrumental songs sounded really bad. I was almost about to fully give up today till I saw a dude on TikTok who makes GarageBand beats and it's crazy how good he is at it. I listened to his vids and couldn't believe that this was garage band.

Apparently he said he uses reverb, guitar samples from YouTube and other things but the issue is I dont know anything and any producer terms like that??? I dont know what adding reverb is, what bpm means fully, all the functions on GarageBand and basic things I feel embarrassed that I dont know of. Where do I learn these terms and things on GarageBand? I've tried watching tutorial vids but then I just get confused because the youtber says "this is for adding reverb and this is to customize the bpm" but I dont even really understand anything. When I type it up on google I get 5 different meanings.

I wanna be able to produce good music but all of this stuff is making me very overwhelmed and I feel like I'm missing a lot.

Apps I can learn how to speak Serbian/Croatian on???

My parents are balkan and when I was little I was able to speak fluent Serbian but ever since I stopped speaking it and only know how to say a couple basic phrases. I understand most of what people tell me in Serbian/Croatian I just can't speak it well.

The tricky thing is my parents don't speak regular Serbian it's a mix of Serbian and Croatian language so it would be kinda hard to learn just one of those languages. Lots of people tell me to just try speaking to my parents in the language but for some reason whenever I try to speak Serbian/Croatian my mind goes blank and I forget what I should say.

I was wondering if there are any apps I can learn a mix of serbian and Croatian on and preferably if it has functions where you can speak in a microphone and it corrects your pronunciation. Also, I do want to learn how to read serbian Cyrillic so if theres any apps that teach this that would be great

What are good free Mandarin learning apps???

For language learning apps I use an app called Tuieda and I really like how you can speak words and it corrects your pronunciation. It also has mini scenario clips where you are put in real life scenarios and you have to speak what you've learned from the app. The only issue is this app only has korean, japanese and Spanish but I really want to learn Mandarin.

Does anyone know any similar apps that are free but teach Mandarin???

Which apps are the best to learn Russian for free???

I use the app Tuieda and I really like it since you can speak the words it teaches you and corrects your pronunciation. It also has mini scenario clips where you are for example having coffee with your friend and you have to speak sentences. This app only has japanese, korean and Spanish but I really want to learn Russian so I was wondering if anyone knows any apps that are free and similar?

Also do I have to download apps individually for learning how to read Russian Cyrillic and speaking it?

Any similar language learning apps for a beginner like me?

I have been using the app Tuieda for korean, japanese and Spanish and it's been super helpful. I really like how It can hear me speak words and corrects me with my pronunciation. I also really like the mini scenes where you are put into real life scenarios and you have to speak sentences. The only thing is I really want to learn Russian and Mandarin but the app is limited so it doesn't have those languages.

I have tried to find similar apps but most of the ones I found aren't that good. Does anyone know any apps like Tuieda that are also free that teach Russian and Mandarin????

Any free apps like Tuieda?

Tuieda is one of my favorite language learning apps. Specifically because it makes you pronounce words and corrects you if its off and there are special scenes where you pretend you are in a real life situation (drinking coffee with your friend for example) and have to use words you learned.

One thing I don't really like about it though is how the language options are pretty limited. It only has Korean, Japanese and Spanish. I am someone who wants to learn some Russian and Mandarin but I can't seem to find any apps with these similar types of options. If anyone knows any free apps please let me know and by the way even free trials don't work for me since my parents don't allow me to use their credit card for subscriptions that aren't that important.

How do I sing with riffs better/correctly

For years I have tried singing with riffs but for some reason it always fails. Like for example I know that lots of artists like Mariah Carey, Christina Aguilera and SWV sing with riffs amazingly. The riffs they do sound controlled, loud, and individual in a way. Of course I am not saying that I am gonna find a way to get on their level because that's for sure impossible but I want to at least be able to do riffs correctly and not have It sounding like a mess.

Whenever I do riffs no matter how much I practice the notes and slow it down it's like my voice slides over the riffs and sounds very weak and messy. It doesn't sound as grounded, loud and on note as it should. It's like my singing hovers weakly over the notes and not correctly on pitch/on note. Also my voice doesn't slide through the notes nicely controlled and as nicely as it should.

I really don't know how else I can get better at riffs. I think if I watch some more YouTube tutorials I will only get more confused so I thought it'd be better to ask on reddit.

How do I sing with vibrato correctly?

I thought 2 weeks ago I started singing with vibrato correctly but I found out that my voice is doing a vocal flutter and not an actual vibrato. I have tried watching vids, relaxing my voice much as possible but for some reason nothing helps.

I know that vibrato is supposed to be something that naturally happens but I'm most likely forcing it and moving my voice back and forth to mimic a vibrato. I just don't understand how some artists have a strong, controllable vibrato (like for example Michael Jackson when he was in Jackson 5 and Whitney Houston). I think I lack a lot of control in my voice and weak breath control.

If anyone could tell me some ways I can train my voice to be able to do vibrato that'd be great

How do I sing correctly and not unstable and bad breath control?

Whenever I sing I notice my voice sounds really weak and thin. When I do a song cover it feels like my voice is hovering over the notes not on the notes if that makes sense 😭 I have heard people to say hey loudly and then sing it with the same volume/grounded way and it kinda helps but then my voice sounds shaky, and unstable.

It’s kinda like my voice is like a paper bag in the wind trying not to get blown away 😭 Like for example lots of singers sing very clear, grounded and stable but when I sing it just sounds unsupported and thin. If I try to get louder it just gets worse (especially the shaking in my voice). When I try to sing notes it’s like for a second I’m hitting the notes and then my voice randomly goes unstable and and shakes and goes off note.

I did hear that it could be that my breath control isn’t correct and that I’m not singing with my diaphragm. For the past year I’ve watched so many videos and explanations on how to sing with your diaphragm correctly. Somehow I still don’t know how.

And the last thing I notice is whenever I try to sing higher my voice gets even thinner and more head voicey??? I was singing a line from a song and the singer almost sings it in a chest voicey way where it somehow sounds grounded at the same time so I tried to do the line and my voice immediately got quiet and I sounded very strained and shaky. On top of that for some reason I hear like a “hssss” of air when I sing high almost like a whispering sound. I also wanted to mention when I sing lines instead of me singing till the last line and fading my voice till theres no sound I kinda sing a line and immediately stop. I've tried to sing longer but for some reason it's really hard to correctly do it.

Sorry for the long post, if anyone knows what I could be doing wrong please let me know 🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻

How do I sing with riffs correctly?

For the past 7 months I’ve been trying to sing riffs in song covers and it’s so hard 💔💔💔 I’ve watched so many vids and researched about it but still can’t do it correctly.

For some reason when I do riffs my voice slides through the notes and dosent actually hit the notes. I have even tried slowing down vids and slowly doing the riffs by each note one by one but nothing helps 😭 I can slightly do riffs better if I sing very quietly but for some reason it’s extra hard if I have to sing it louder. Does anyone know how I can fix this???

Just got FL Studio what should I know

I just bought the producer edition version of FL Studio on my macbook. It's pretty much my 1st time using a DAW and I haven't really produced much because I would have issues with GarageBand. I don't really know any producer terms (like bpm, stems and etc) and don't know any music theory.

I just wanna make sure I understand everything well and don't make any big mistakes. And tbh I wanna make a bunch of different kind of instrumental music (R&B, Rap, Jazz, City pop, Etc) so I'm not sure if that means I have to learn music theory differently for each genre???

Also, I can't take any music theory classes so if anyone knows how I could learn it for free please lmk. If anyone has any good advice/tips for me that would be great

Any tips???

I've been trying to get into music production for the past year, I've made some beats on BandLab and GarageBand and thats pretty much it. I don't really have any other experience with this or music theory at all.

I'm soon planning on buying FL Studio on my Mac for $100 but I feel like I'll still have to learn some things before I start. I've heard some people have taken classes for music production and have bought equipment (midi keyboards, etc) for music production but I don't really know how important all that really is ngl.

I don't have much money to take any classes I could tho save up to buy any equipment like a midi keyboard if its really helpful with things. Also even when I've tried making beats on BandLab and GarageBand I have really struggled with creativity, like when I finally have a good idea for a instrumental part I realize I just remade a song that already exists.

If anyone got any helpful tips or any advice based off of the stuff I've said that would be great.

What should I know about FL Studio?

I'm soon going to get FL Studio on my MacBook for $100, I was wondering what are some things I should know before buying it? I'm a beginner at music production the only experience I have is making some beats on band lab and thats it. If anyone has any tips that would be awesome and I was also wondering if I have to buy equipment with FL Studio (I heard some people buy midi keyboards for music production).
