How to fix pressure point on rifle?
2011 Remington 700 sps 7mm-08. Currently has 2-3 inch MOA when all my other rifles shoot sub 1 inch. Want to fix this up for my son to one day use as it was my first hunting rifle of my own and a gift from my father and grandfather. The pressure point is right in front of the dollar bill. These rifles are known for having flimsy stocks that create pressure points and I don’t know if sanding it will help enough Because I assume it’ll just bend more when placed on a rest or bipod. Bedding seems complicated and like a lot of labor so I’d almost rather buy a new stock or chassis for it. If anyone has experience dealing with these tuppleWare Remington stocks from this era or has dealt with and fixed a similar issue please chime in and let me know. Would my best move be to sand the pressure point and then have everything retorqued to spec just to make sure that’s not the issue?
