Heated air tube issues?

I have been trying to diagnose my dry throat / mouth / everything that started a few weeks ago. Other posters suggested that I would be mouth breathing, causing the dryness. So I tried taping my mouth shut. That actually helped a little bit but did not resolve the issue. So I went into settings and switched from Auto climate control to manual and I got my humidity running so high that I ended up with rain out issues, but yet I was still having dry throat and mouth issues. This dryness issue wakes me up multiple times now through the night and I have to work at trying to come up with the saliva to moisturize my mouth and my throat. It's disrupting my sleep more than apnea ever did!

So I wondered if perhaps my air tube might be causing the issue, like maybe it's faulty? I noticed that it never felt like it got warm. My air tube setting is to 80°, so I should definitely feel something that is 80°, right? Can anyone tell whether there are air tube feels warm or not? Any other ideas of why I'm having all of a sudden this massive dry out? I mean it didn't creep up, it was night and day when it started.

Supervision message missing?

Ever since I started my son's device on family link, their phone would always display a message in the notification shade saying "This device is supervised with Family Link" . I've been having issues today with updates on the parental app syncing up with my son's newer device. When I set up family link on this new device it seem to be working fine at the get go, but now today when I'm having issues with their device getting updates, I'm also noticing that that supervision message is missing.

So I was just wondering if everyone else still sees that message on their spawn's device and I truly am having an issue on my son's device, or did perhaps family link make a change to remove that message from the notification shade?

Ingenious ways to draw serum?

So I know I'm going to blow this at some point and it's been delicate the three times that I've done it so far, but these massively long IM needles trying to suck out the serum from a tiny bottle, I know I'm going to either drop the bottle, break the needle or something and lose my dose. Primarily because I have to pull the long needle out so only the tiniest amount is in pass the rubber top in order to get all of the serum.

Has anybody come up with an ingenious way of being able to draw the serum safely?

Wedge pillow source

Anyone know of a good source to get an inexpensive wedge pillow? I'm not a fan of Amazon, I would rather order from a place or go to a store directly.

I just can't!

Excellent????? And I actually wore it the whole night, it was even an extended sleeping night, I think 10.5 hours? I've been having issues with my CPAP the last couple of weeks and I'm starting to wonder if it's dying a slow death? This thing is only a year old.

Motorola recommendations

I've been using Samsung phones for probably 10 years now. I've been mostly happy with them, but now I'm needing to get a new phone and I'm not crazy about the options I'm finding.

Frankly I'm appalled at the battery life. I seriously thought that Samsung would have had some improvements, especially in the s series. The last two phones I had were a series and even today those are doing better than what I'm reading new S series can provide.

Prior to Samsung I was a Motorola fan. I loved my Droids but when Motorola sold out to Lenovo, I was concerned on many fronts and that's what caused me to jump ship to Samsung. Is Motorola still a viable option? I'm so out of the loop now, I'm not even sure which models to even consider. I'm not even sure if it's a brand I should consider? How's the customer service? Does Motorola still make their own software? I used to use the feature where I could speak to my phone and it would unlock and do stuff for me. Is that still around?

I'm not trying to bash Samsung, I'm just trying to understand if there are true competitive options that are reliable.

Phantom badge counts on contacts

Recently switched to Textra because of the forced Samsung to Google messages migration.

Issue I'm seeing is that I have a couple of contacts that have a badge count, but I have viewed every single message in the thread and the badge count won't go away. I have force closed and cleared cache, which did remove the app badge count on my home screen, but they are still showing on the contacts which is driving me nuts.

Anyone know a way to get this fixed?

At what point are you charged for your texts?

I've got a friend up in Canada that says their Mobile plan (Roberts) charges for every text they make and receive. Well, at least if it's international. I told them they needed to get a third party texting app and only send messages over Wi-Fi, and then they wouldn't be charged for anything. Am I wrong?

APAP malfunction?

So weird thing happened to me last night. And it happened once (twice?) before in the recent past. I have been wearing my APAP for over a year now.

I was waking up multiple times with my whole nasal and throat avenues crazy dry. I could barely swallow. It would take a minute for me to generate enough saliva to be able to swallow and re-lubricate everything, only to wake up a short time later with the same issue. Talk about a horrible night's sleep.

The first time this happened I thought it was because my tank went dry, so chalked it up to lack of humidity. But this morning my tank still had some water in it. It was using the water so I know that the humidifier part wasn't failing. But this time it seemed like there was a massive amount of air pressure. Felt like I had a jet engine blowing in my face. When I took off my mask, the force of the air was so loud! And I found it odd that my device shut off within seconds of me removing my mask. Usually it will keep running until I hit the button.

Could my APAP be mail functioning? Pushing through too much air? It's a relatively new device, and Air Sense 11.

Weird NSV

Okay this is going to sound weird but I just had to share, lol.

I have struggled with my weight all my life, but not significantly so. You know, food noise. Started to seriously gain weight around 2020, slowly put on 80 lbs which was out of this world for me.

Started ZB 4 months ago, and I've lost 22.5 lb so far! I'm ecstatic because I'm extremely sedentary due to health issues, so to me this is a huge improvement in the right direction.

Anyway, on to my NSV. Due to this massive weight gain in the last 5 years I developed an apron belly. Boo! But today when I looked in the mirror, I noticed that one of my hip folds was no longer folding! One down and five to go!

Co-factor source

I was shopping for co-factors and expecting to buy a dozen bottles, a little of this, a little of that. Surprisingly I found one source that had basically everything except copper!

Co-factors with injections?

Hoping for a little group love here. Long story short, convinced my doctor to get me B12 injections, I won't know what strength until the pharmacy tells me it's been filled. I don't even know what kind he prescribed, and he only prescribed for for weekly injections.

I've read so many different recommendations about co-factors to supplement when getting B12 injections that I'm lost in the weeds. I've heard folate, B1, B9, etc etc I just don't know what I'm trying to do here. And I'm on my own since my doctor basically poo pooed my self-diagnosis.

Edit: just looked up my post visit summary and he's prescribed me with - Cyanocobalamin 1000 mcg IM injection weekly x4 weeks

Watch not tracking data

So I want to preface this by saying I actually really like my Lilly2 watch, but I am struggling with the interface and need some guidance.

I often find the watch face in what appears to be some kind of sleeping mode. The first time I had this, right after I got the watch, it looked like because the watch thought I was still sleeping? I went into the sleep screen and checked know that I was no longer sleeping (even though I had been awake for hours) and that seemed to get the watch face to look like it was in normal mode. But lately I am finding the watch face in sleep mode at odd times and I cannot figure why it's doing this?

A side note and question. I noticed that my watch had only been tracking steps for the last 3 days for some weird reason. As best as I can recall, my watch shut down because it needed charging so I plugged it in, and I put it on later that day. But it doesn't appear to have recorded anything other than steps since that time. Just a bit ago to watch face was doing the sleeping thing again and so I learned how to do a reset and so now the watch face is showing normal. But I don't seem to have any data other than steps for the last 3 days. What gives? What am I doing wrong?

Alternative to Tums?

I'm dealing with what I believe to be a B12 deficiency due to long-term use of PPIs. My health has been declining steadily over the last 5 years, I am now moderately CFS. I only have an appointment with my GP on the calendar, I don't currently have any follow up with my gastroenterologist. And it doesn't help that my insurance got changed and now they are no longer covered and I will probably have to find a new GI doctor.

My current PPI is pantoprazole 10 mg, supposed to take it twice a day. It's very effective for me. But because of my declining health which I believe is due to B12 deficiency due to these PPIs, I am trying to wean myself off of PPIs. Unfortunately every time I've tried to do this in the past it's never panned out, I always end up back at the GI doctor with a new scope and a new med. It starts out okay, then I find myself grabbing the occasional Tums, then I eventually find myself carrying a freaking bottle of Tums with me at all times, LOL. Then I'm crying at the GI doctor due to the pain.

I'm not crazy about the idea of switching from a PPI to Tums, there are issues with taking too much Tums or too frequently. But I feel like I need to do something different because it would feel like an oxymoron to be continuing with the PPI but then taking B12 injections. I feel like I need to pick my course of treatment.

Is anyone here been able to successfully win themselves off of a PPI? If so how did you do it? Those of you with the B12 deficiency due to PPI, what is your current course of treatment look like?

Where in US can you get HoloTC testing

I'm struggling and frankly shocked, that I am unable to find where in the US I could actually get a Holo TC test done. I see a lot of references to this testing in the UK, but not in the US. Only papers documenting the legitimacy and validity of active B12 testing.

I'm trying to prepare myself for upcoming doctor visits because my serum levels are relatively high, 800-900 range. But neither time I was tested did either doctor mention that my supplements would interfere with the serum level testing. I actually think they probably don't even know! My current GP seems a little more knowledgeable and a little more receptive to having a conversation, but I want to come prepared. Because anyone seeing a serum level of 800 would say there's no way that I'm B12 deficient and you all know that rabbit hole.

Question about serum levels, malabsorption and injections

Asking this group because I honestly don't quite know how to figure out the proper search criteria for an internet search. Hoping you all might assist.

I understand that your serum levels may register normal but you may still be deficient because of malabsorption. What I don't quite understand is if you are getting injections, how is this transported any differently to deliver any benefit? I mean, don't injections simply end up in your bloodstream? And if your serum levels are elevated because of supplements, how are injections any different?

Perhaps my overarching question is how do injections bypass the malabsorption issue?

FUNCAP scoring

So I've tried searching around and everyone that talks about this seems to already know how to do this. I only just today learned about this questionnaire and found the 55 question version and have answered it but I have no idea what to do with my answers. Nothing tells you what you're supposed to do with your answers or how to score this questionnaire.

Please be gentle! Some of us are noobs 😁. Can someone please tell me what I'm supposed to do with my data?

Another long-term Fitbit user biting the dust

I know you guys are probably getting tired of hearing this, but I also think it's helpful for people to understand just how many people are not happy with the recent changes and to get some kind of perception of how many people are leaving the Fitbit community. Not a rant, just providing data.

Got myself a Garmin. Bye Fitbit.
