Quarantine bc hantavirus in Dutch hospital could have been avoided

Gist: person with hantavirus from ship was put on general ward with extra protection because putting him in the special isolation unit could have given the impression that the general ward wasn't safe.

The news reported "they were SO prepared because they put him in a special isolation unit", but he wasn't put there. As a consequence, two departments had to communicate about the right safety measures. This exposed 12 HCWs during taking samples of the patient, who consequently had to isolate (but at least they did).

The team leader was the same as the one who mishandled the first phase of the covid pandemic because "no panic". Another example that a hospital's image is apparently more important than actual safety of patients. Fortunately nothing happened - this time, and with hantavirus. People are still getting ill with covid in hospitals due to lack of protection.

Dutch research shows: muscles pwME and pwLC different from inactive ableds

Muscles are less red than in ableds who spent 60 days in bed. Further research is needed to establish the cause and find treatments. But the Dutch government is not providing enough funding.

What are your funniest (or most recent) brainfog moments?

I read that some games on here were not working, and when I tried to type the name of a pet in the guessing game with my keyboard, no letters appeared. So I thought, OK, that one is not working, then. Much later on I realise that I have to use the keyboard of the game itself and of course, it worked fine. I've done that game many times before, but does brainfog care? 🤣

Not the funniest brainfog moment, but it is the most recent. Tell me yours?

Photogenic LiccA Orlea

When I ordered this doll, I planned to use the body on one of my Castle dolls. Or redress her in mori clothes. But when I got her, the outfit positively surprised me. It's good fabric and neatly sewn. The mori clothes were too wide on her, anyway. Then I found myself playing with the doll like I'd never done with my other Liccas, not even the ones with Azone and Obitsu bodies. The vinyl is nicer to the touch when posing, she is very "dainty" and not as child-like. I washed her hair and it's static now, but looks more natural and flowy.

So she keeps me company on desks and tables with her confident and poised expression. I named her Orla - the first of my Liccas that I named. I might buy some of the sewing patterns for the neo Licca body, e.g. this book: https://www.etsy.com/listing/4308921378
