iOS 26.5 after 3 days. (iPhone 16Pro)

After updating right away when iOS 26.5 appeared this is how my device is working. And i can’t say I’m not impressed. It’s been pretty consistent, at least by my usage and my personal experience. I don’t game on my phone or use quite roughly. I take pictures on time to time. And I didn’t face any unusual overheating or stuttering or app crashing on my usage or apps i use generally.

It’s a 7month old iPhone 16Pro with 100 battery health. I’m sharing it for people who care and compare their usage and devices.

Your experience may vary. And feel free to share your data and experiences as well. I’d love to know your opinions too.

Dynamic island and more usability

I love the dynamic island and the handful of apps got integrated through it.

I wish apple could do more with it in iOS. Like the audio effects they introduced recently, isolation and stuffs could’ve easily be toggled by dynamic island instead of swiping down from control panel, camera app can benefit from it too. Changing lenses by tapping on dynamic island, or assigning as a secondary shortcut to any other function in the camera app. Just something from the top my head.

What y’all think about it? Can dynamic island be more than it is right now?

iOS 26.5 (Day 2 on iPhone 16Pro)

Today was a much more heavier day. Used alot of mobile data, camera, took multiple videos, video calls and the usual txting, social scrolling and all. I’m not a gamer. So no luck there. I can’t deny I’m impressed yet again. But i know it’s still too early to draw any conclusions.

Ps. For people who followed my last post (day 1 of iOS 26.5) I attached the final SOT number of how yesterday ended for me.

My battery health is 100% with 73 cycles.

iOS 26.5 (Day 1 on iPhone 16Pro)

Can’t say i’m not impressed by this but i was also impressed by 26.4.2 on the 1st day as well. Bu let’s see they did any meaningful improvements with 26.5. It’s still too early to judge. I know. But i wanted to share my testing journey with people who care about it.

I was always a bit skeptical about going PRO MAX. Just because of the weird dimensions iPhones went with from 16 series. It got too long and wide to reach comfortably by one hand and going back on iPhone is a ruining the experience of using the phone. And like everyone else I’m a right handed person who’d use their in the right hand and it’s not possible in any safe way to go back on menus.

Now please don’t jump with the reachability option of iPhone. I don’t like it neither I’ll ever gonna use that coz it’s not a proper solution and that weird gesture makes my device even insecure and i feel i might drop the phone. It’s high time apple should really need to think beyond their narrow minded navigation systems, because they just got into a large phone game but android solved these issues way before.

Configurable gestures for control centers, notification panel, universal back gestures, app opening gestures and better back tap implementations are not just a nice to have thing it’s a must have thing right now. Otherwise the Pro Max lineup is not gonna be a tool for day to day use it’s becoming a portable device aka tabs with cellular facilities.

Sorry for the rant. But recently i have moved from 16 Pro to Pro Max for the better battery life but seriously regretting the daily usage and two handed handling of the device. It’s getting on the way and I’m getting scared more and more everyday that i’m gonna drop it and things will break.

So this is my follow on post to a previous one where i shared my experience on using iOS 26.4.2 and iOS 26 for the first time. And after a week it’s still pretty solid. This is the result of today. So far it still feels quite stable. And yes there are a few bugs and glitches here and there but it’s still not much that ruins the experience of using my phone. I don’t game or do anything heavy on my phone. Just texting, scrolling socials, taking calls. On Light/Moderate usage the results are pretty consistent.

I hope this helps for someone who resembles my usage. Thanks.

So i have recently updated my iPhone 16Pro to iOS 26.4.2 and it’s been phenomenal. Very minimal issues and excellent battery life. Feels pretty stable.

Although after iOS settling down or reindexing after a few days. I have started noticing some apps freezes randomly, happens rarely but it’s there.

I have noticed 2/3 times on wallpaper settings section. The screen freezes just before setting the new wallpaper, or cropping or setting various depth effects and all. Did anyone notice this? Is this a new thing or it happened before in previous iOS versions?
