First time in Dunkeltaler Forest, just completed the story but a little disappointed.

Title pretty much....

I recently started a new game, my first one since completing my 1.0 run, so stuff like the North Pole and Dunkeltaler are new to me.

North Pole was very short but the stocking makes it worth while. I was kind of disappointed at Dunkeltaler though. The location itself is great, some of the furniture is nifty, and as a huge fan of Joel and Vinny it was great hearing Joel's voice in the game too, but as a whole, especially after the 'ending', it feels underutilized.

Anyone else feel the same? Is there anything else I'm missing after we say goodbye to Joel?

Edit: I'm not saying I'm unhappy with what was included. The more AB the better, it's just with my limited knowledge of VotV (I only know about the game from watching Joel play it) I thought there would be a bit more to it.

Set up options for 3D printing

Hi gang,

Been looking at getting into 3D printing for a while, the problem I have is finding the right set up for my situation. I'm currently renting, so I can't set up something permanent, I also live in Melbourne, Australia, and right now it's winter. The average temperature for winter here is 14°C during the day and 4°C at night. I also have a cat so I have to be weary about her.

I have an enclosed balcony I could set up in, but right now it's the cats 'play room', so ideally I would like to refrain from using it. I have another balcony that's not enclosed, but is covered.

I'm guessing if I get a printer it'll be an enclosed one. I was eyeing the Bambu Lab P1S, but considering my current set up is it even worth bothering?

Cheers all

Final Girl recommendations

Hi gang,

Been building out my solo board game collection, actually made a post a few days ago asking about games to solo based heavily on mapping.

Got another question regarding Final Girl, which I've started getting into as well. I've played a couple of games so far and have a few feature films. I have Happy Trails Horror, which was bundled with the core box, The Killer From Tomorrow and Panic at Station 2891. Picked them based on my taste in horror (I like sci fi horror)

Any other recommendations? I'm thinking of Into The Void or Green Terror for their obvious inspirations, but any that offer some pretty unique mechanics?

Cheers all

*EDIT* Thanks for the recommendations so far! Into the Void was most likely going to be my next one. Alien is my favourite horror movie ever, so it was always inevitable.

Thematically recommendations don't necessarily need to be based on sci fi (Although I would love one based on Event Horizon!), I also like cosmic horror, so stuff like In The Mouth of Madness, Dagon, The Void, Colour out of Space, etc, and I'm also a big fan of Cronenberg/body horror.

I'm happy with anything if it's fun mechanically though :)

Recommendations for board games with map books or modular terrain

Howdy freinds,

Looking for some recommendations for board games I can solo that have a heavy emphasis on multiple maps, either in a map book or through modular mapping. Something along the lines of ISS Vanguard, or Fallout (Both of which I own). Ideally I'd like something that's not as heavy as Vanguard, but still with a bit of strategy behind it.

I have had my eye on Tidal Blade 2 and 7th Citadel, unfortunately I can't find any copies being sold in Australia. I'm also more into sci fi fan than fantasy, if that helps as far as themes go.

Cheers all

Thinking of a later age (40+) career change (from hotel management)

Hi friends,

I've been considering moving out of my career and going somewhere new, but no idea where to start.

As a brief background, I'm 43, I've worked primarily in hotels most of my adult life. Started out in housekeeping, but have worked multiple departments including F&B, maintenance, events, and eventually front office management. I thought I wanted to keep progressing (I was gunning for a front office manager role before moving from Brisbane to Melbourne a couple of years back, now a duty manager) but the longer I'm sticking around the less keen I am to continue, especially as the pay will never be as good as other careers.

My interpersonal skills are always noted as my best quality, but I'm getting tired of constantly engaging with people, especially when it comes to the less pleasant ones. It's starting to get incredibly draining, and I'm finding it's affecting my social battery outside of work.

The thing is, the hotel industry is all I really know, and with my experience I'm pretty much always secured a job. The only degree I have outside of a couple of random business certs is a bachelor in digital animation and visual arts, but that never went anywhere, nor do I feel like I can make it a career (Although I do have a side project I'm working on).

I want to step back from interacting with so many people, and preferably somewhere with the ability to spend some time working from home, although that's really not important.... and it goes without saying but something with a generally higher salary than hospo work.

Anyone here transitioned from a similar industry? Or anyone with advice in general. I have no idea what I want to do or where I want to go, just that I'm at a point where I'm not feeling hotels anymore.

Thanks for reading all!

Providing balance screenshots for a rental application when you have hardly any balance to show.

Howdy friends.

My housemate and I have to move out unexpectedly due the owner of our current rental deciding to sell. We've started applying but we are now being asked to provide at least a screenshot of our bank accounts. I know my housemate is fine, but my savings are almost non-existent. I'm guessing it's to gauge affordability for the bond and advance rent, which I can organise once approved, but in the mean time I have just over a grand in my bank.

I've already supplied my payslips, my rental history is strong, in both rent payments and upkeep, and this place in particular is through the same REA I've been with for the past 3 years, who apparently like us. This is the first time I've been asked to provide a bank screenshot for a rental however.

My questions are, once supplied will they require anything else related to current bank balance? (I'm thinking of some fancy editing or borrowing some money briefly for a screenshot), and how much would be acceptable if they require $3000 in advance rent and bond.

Cheers

*EDIT*

Well someone's ears were burning. Half an hour after this post the real estate agent called asking if I had received the e-mail requesting the screenshot. I got confirmation that it is for the purpose of the bond and advanced rent. The good news is they said the owner has seen our application and is happy to offer us the apartment as soon as we get this screenshot through.

Just said I'm busy with work today, and most likely won't be able to send it through until after work/over weekend, so a sneaky edit looks like the way to go.

Thanks for tips my friends.

*END EDIT*

Pretty much topic. I got hit hard with the MrBeast Crypto hack through discord. It obviously hit Discord hard, and although I have my account back, I have multiple violations due to the hack spamming people, My Uber account got his too with multiple orders that were attempted, and most importantly, my facebook has been disabled and I have no way to recover it.

I heard I can talk to someone via a Meta subscription to try and get the account reserved, but any other suggestions would be great. I tried making a new account but because my number was tied to the previous one, I'm unable to.

Losing 20 years of photos sucks, but I've also lost the only contact I have with multiple friends I've made over the years that don't live here anymore...
