MenACWY vs MenB vaccine

I am not asking for medical advice. Just the experiences of providers or patients.

I have to get the meningitis vaccine (MenACWY) for school, but my specialist doctor recommended I also get the MenB. I was just curious if people who have had both thought one was worse or better than the other? What their side effects were?

I just got MenACWY today and am supposed to do MenB sometime next week and I’m not having a great time with this one lol chief complaint being nausea and fatigue, mild headache.

Ledges 8/9

Another perfect day at the ledges complete with two passing boats stopping to play us some live music!

Ledges 7/24

The ledges were absolutely amazing today!! The water level wasn’t quite as crazy high, and the water temp was absolutely perfect, right around 75F. I’m hoping to make it again tomorrow, but if anyone is on the fence for this weekend, conditions are perfect!! 🤩

I’m a curvy 33F, based just north of the capital district, and I have no age/gender preference for companions, just want genuine nude friends who can go midweek!

FCI Fort Dix - visitation help

I have no idea if this is the right subreddit for this so please feel free to redirect me 🙏🏻 one of my best friends was just sentenced to 10 years at FCI Fort Dix and I am coordinating a road trip with his mother to go visit. I’ve never visited any prison before (but did see him in county) so I have no idea what to expect or how it works. These are my big questions I have, but any tips or advice is most most welcome 🙏🏻

  1. at county there was an app where you registered for a visitation time and then had to present your license when you checked in. From what I understand, you don’t register and just show up and it’s a first come first serve basis. I’m about 4 hours away, and I would be gutted if I was turned away. Is this something where you need to get there 2 hours early, or is it not usually super overcrowded where this is a problem? We’re currently planning to go on a Saturday.

  2. at county, if you brought a quarter with you there was a locked you could store your keys/phone etc in while you were at the visit. Is there something similar at fort dix?

  3. I’m female, at county underwire bras weren’t allowed - any notable clothing/attire requirements? I did read through the very dated rules on the prison website but it was updated years ago and still says Friday is a visitation day (it’s not).

  4. since this is so far away, we are planning on getting a hotel for the night prior. The two hotels his mom has sent me look… not great… per the reviews. Does anyone have any suggestions for where to stay? I don’t care if it’s 20-30 mins for the prison if it assures me a decent bed and bug free night sleep 😅

This is my first time navigating the prison system, Any and all advice is most appreciated! 💜

American gals - I’m curious how much your hysterectomy cost

Hi all - I’ve been weighing getting my uterus removed (technically I have 2, and they’ve been nothing but bullies to me 🥲) and one of the things I’ve been weighing is the cost to do it. I just lost my job last month but I’m staying in COBRA for as long as I practically can because it’s amazing insurance. So I’m just curious, insured American folk - how much out of pocket was your surgery? (And honestly any other country, moreso out of curiosity!)

Considering hysterectomy - advice wanted

Hello hysterectomy community 👋🏻 I’ve been considering having my uteruses (yes I have two! Pic for proof lol) removed for a long time now, as they have caused me nothing but trouble and I never plan to use them as incubators. For reference, I’m 33F, have multiple sclerosis (dx 2017, on an infusion that manipulates my immune system, live mostly symptom free!), and have developed anemia (which suckssss) that I get twice annual infusions for because of how much I bleed with each cycle. I also have some heavy scar tissue in my lower abdomen from having an extremely large dermoid cyst on my left ovary removed when I was 17 - because of the size and complexity of it, they went full invasive and I have what looks like a c-section scar. I did significant pelvic floor physical therapy after and again in my early 30s to try to help with some of the scar tissue.

And because I was born with two uteruses, I have always had extremely heavy and painful periods (no endo, sending love to everyone in that unfortunate club 💜) as I only have one cervix, so the two contract and cramp so intensely to try to expel the blood and uterine lining. I bleed for about 8-9 days of my 24-25 day cycle, and I would say I’m in agony for about 3-4 days of my period, with the other days manageable to low pain. The pain is so severe at times I’ve literally have to pull over while driving, called out of work, sobbed to my mom on the phone etc., and I have a pretty high pain tolerance (I’ve run a marathon, so I’m a glutton for punishment 😂). I take 800mg of Advil around the clock to try and manage the pain, which puts it at a tolerable level. I can’t tolerate hormonal birth control, and I can’t get an IUD because of my uterine anomaly, so I just suffer every month, since I was 12 years old.

All this to say- after 20 years of menstruating, I’m getting to the point where I’m 100% certain I don’t want children (for a multitude of reasons beyond my two asshat uteruses) and I’m like what’s the point of keeping these??? I wouldn’t need constant Advil or iron infusions anymore, and I wouldn’t have to bleed through menstrual cups and clothes anymore etc. But my big fear is long term impact on sexual function and health (vaginal prolapse?? Loss of libido???) of making this decision. I’d love to know if there are any other didelphic uterus peeps out there who have had similar experience or made the decision to scoop ‘em out, and from any former uterus haver who kept your ovaries - what’s your experience been like since you had the surgery? How has your sexual function been? Would you recommend to a friend? Haha

TLDR - I’m 33 and have two uteruses and it fucking sucks and causes a bunch of health problems so I’m considering scooping them out but afraid of impact to sexual health, any advice on why or why not to do it?

Idiopathic vestibular disease - advice wanted

Hi all!

My dog was wobbly and dizzy yesterday and I rushed him to the vet, where they said it’s idiopathic vestibular disease. My dog is an old man, 13.5 corgi lab mix, and otherwise in good health besides some mild arthritis. This has been jarring and distressing for both of us, and I got him on meclizine so he’s doing okay nausea wise and eating, but he’s so so distressed. Any tips or advice for comforting him? I’m trying to get him to sleep as much as possible but he’s a bit restless and just wants to go do his normal activities but of course he can’t go chasing frisbees right now.

Any advice (or kind words for me lol) welcome! Photos of my sweet boy for engagement haha

I enjoyed the nude hike I went on last year, except that my osprey water backpack was not comfortable to be worn on bare skin at allllll. It caused a little bit of chafing up by my shoulders. Does anyone have advice or a bag they like that they could recommend? Thanks!
