Film rights advice

Feature remake request.

We made a feature comedy last year (our first) that had a succesful run in the theaters in our country and abroad and now is online on ppv. We have been contacted by a big production company in EU for a potential remake. They'll get back at us after the Cannes festival.

Our second movie is about to end its run in the theaters as well in a couple months and is very suited for a remake for larger audiences as well. Do we pitch this one as well as they have not seen it yet? Or just suggest it without being too pushy?

But I wanted to ask anyone who has had a similiar experience, selling their rights for a remake? How should we go about it? Should we be attached as producers in making sure the remake stays true to the original or help/assist them in any way in the story and characters?

What about the legal side of it? Do we get paid and they can do whatever with it? Should we insist on any percentages on profits? And what if of potential new movies based on those characters (at least the 4 leads), who are quite different but original?

Appreciate any advice anyone has for us.

Ps. We are in EU but thought to ask here as well (if allowed) as you guys are the capital of film industry and have more experience in dealing with such matters.

Thanks in advance.
