Best bicep band for HIIT sports for the Apple Watch Series 10?

I'm looking for a bicep band to attach my Apple Watch Series 10 to while working out in HIIT classes and running

I like the bicep band better as the wrist band can get in the way in classes

What are people wearing? There's like a million options on Amazon

Best bicep band for an Apple Watch for Muay Thai training?

What are folks using to strap their Apple Watch to their bicep?

Need something that wont slide down my arm as I slowly turn into a puddle of sweat, but also wont be a tourniquet

Does it make sense to use Whoop as a one off workout tracker vs something I'm constantly wearing?

I run a lot which I use my Apple Watch for, since I like the GPS tracking and the music streaming

I also do Combat sports, which my Apple Watch gets in the way of, either under the boxing gloves or as a thing that people might get caught on when grappling

I wont be wearing my Whoop 24/7. It will just be for when I'm actively in the gym doing Muay Thai, and not even when I'm running, since I have the Apple Watch for that. I dont want to have to wear 2 things for runs.

Is a Whoop overkill, or the wrong product for what I want to do here?

I just like the form factor and that I can strap it to my bicep where its out of the way

How do I proactively measure my heart rate with Whoop?

New user here. Just set my Whoop up today.

How do I proactively measure my HR with Whoop and view the results?

Feels like anything the whoop can do doesn't impact me until like a month of data happens which is kind of a poor experience

Wildfire smell outside last few days?

Is it just me or is there a wildfire-y smell in the air recently

At least near the peninsula

I'm like, 80% sure I'm not having a stroke here

How do I stop thinking about things when its time to sleep?

I've been up until dawn every other day for 2 months now, despite getting into bed at a normal time (11 PM) and being tired.

When I get into bed exhausted, for whatever reason, at first its like "awesome, sleep is gonna come quick" and then my brain just starts...thinking?

Not even about embarrassing stuff. But like scenarios. I save the day, or have a hard conversation with someone, or action movie type stuff.

I can catch myself when I do that and stop for a second, only to have it...start again?

This goes on essentially all night.

I have tried meditating to calm my mind. I do this daily. But at this point in the night I am somehow too tired and wired to meditate.

It almost feels like the "gear" my brain needs to get into to transition into sleep is broken, and my brain cant make the jump

How do I quiet the thinking?

Sleep Hygiene things I already do to no success:

  • Exercise daily (Running or weight lifting, sometimes heavy sometimes light)
  • Mediate daily (10 minutes in the morning to relax a bit)
  • Stretch daily
  • Melatonin (500 micrograms) at the time I'd like to be asleep (11 PM)
  • Magnesium Glycinate (250 mg) at same time as melatonin
  • Have sex and or "do it myself" (embarrassing to write, but it is supposed to help!)
  • Caffeine limited to a latte in the morning

How do you get to sleep after a hard evening class?

I love this sport, I want to do it forever

But my current job comes with morning meetings, and when I train hard in the PM, I am amped up for hours afterwords. I could be dead tired, but I'm still in fight or flight enough that I just sit in bed for most of the night with weird "thought loops"

How do you go from a 6 PM class to an 11 PM bed time without still having adrenaline coursing through your veins?

What I've tried so far that doesn't help:

  • Meditation
  • Melatonin
  • Chamomile tea
  • Stretching
  • Getting in bed in a dark room with no electronics for an hour beforehand
  • Magnesium Citrate
  • CBD / other stuff

There's tons of night classes. So clearly this is a solved problem. How do you do it? Or is my brain chemistry just dogshit

Best fitness tracker for Muay Thai?

My Apple Watch gets all sorts of buttons pushed when crammed into my gloves. Once it even accidentally set off the "call the police alarm"

What's a good tracker for this sport that can track key health metrics like HR, VO2 Max, training progress, that wont get in the way of myself or others when training?

Where to find the live punk / hardcore music scene?

Basically the title.

Where are the punk/hardcore shows around here? This music drives me but I feel like I cant find anyone else who's into it or plays it around here. Would love to meet other enthusiasts, or people interested in starting a band to jam and gig

Any specific shows or events coming up?

If there's any local punk bands you want to shout out would be cool to know who they are so I can follow

How to block Youtube.com across entire Verizon 5G Home internet?

I'd like to block Youtube.com across the entire wifi network. I dont want any device to be able to access it.

Going into the Parental Controls in the admin console on my router, I have to choose a device (or more). When I do so, neither "Bedtime" "School Day" nor "Off Limits" seems to meet my needs as they either block all network access or only whitelists specific sites.

So I create a new profile, add as many devices as I can (It maxes out at 16 which isnt enough for my network) and set the profile to enable all Internet access from 12 AM to 12 AM and add an exception that is Youtube.com

However this does not seem to actually block Youtube.com

A specific device I blocked is a Roku TV. After performing the above I could still access and stream Youtube on it.

How might I accomplish what I am looking for?

Even if its not across all devices, on some devices and have it work properly.

What did I do wrong here?

How to stop Netgear's NoIP VPN router software from leaking network data?

My Netgear router comes with OpenVPN. It asks you to create a domain with NoIP in order to use it.

After doing so and linking it with Netgear, I create OpenVPN configs on the router and put them on my devices.

When traveling outside the country, I enable the VPN on my iPhone. When I go to a "What's my IP location" site, they show that I'm in the country I'm traveling in, and not where my Netgear router is.

This is further verified when opening up streaming service apps, only to find they are showing the country I'm traveling in's offerings vs my home network's country.

I never had this problem with WireGuard on the same device. It is not a device issue.

My NoIP domain is active and up to date.

How do I stop my Netgear OpenVPN offering from leaking my network traffic to local providers?

If it matters, home is in the US. Travel is in Europe.

Can anyone recommend decent IR Masters programs in Europe with a language learning component?

I'm an American looking to pursue a masters abroad in Europe. I am an avid language learner and would love to become close to fluent in whatever language they speak where I am pursuing this masters

My goal is to leave the program with a deeper, more international take on IR, and the opportunity to live and work in Europe long term. I'd like to work at institutions like the UN, EU, etc, or think tanks / NGOs that advocate for foriegn policy related to them

A place that has a path to permanent residency or even citizenship is ideal

What do folks recommend that might fit this?

If you did the program, what was your experience?

To those who got their Masters abroad from the US, what was your experience like? Was it worth it?

To those who did their masters in Europe, SE Asia or so on, what was your experience like?

Did the experience abroad give you the cultural immersion or career opportunity in those countries that you were looking for? Did it help you work towards a more permanent residency? Did you become fluent in another language?

Or was it more of the same but in a different country?

ELI5: Why are roof tiles black when that color absorbs the most heat?

Roof tiles in the US are generally black. Its also incredibly hot across the country. The color black absorbs far more light and consequently heat than other colors.

Why not make roof tiles a color that absorbs less heat? Would that not help keep houses cooler in the hot summer?

What sqft-age can the BPi R4 Pro cover with Wi-fi?

I’m thinking about replacing my existing router with a BPi R4 Pro running OpenWRT so I can have more control over my network

I’m looking for something that can cover 800+ sqft of house. The router is going to be at one end of it, not in the middle (I know, not ideal)

I cannot, after an hour of searching find _anywhere_ that describes the distance the signal can cover under default configuration

Can a BPi R4 Pro handle that? Does OpenWRT give me settings I can tweak to ensure it produces a powerful enough signal?

Can it mesh? Does it do a good job of meshing?

Also, is there a Banana Pi subreddit that’s active?

/r/banana_pi hasn’t had a new post in 3 years it looks like
