Notify when left behind just doesn’t work!

I used the AirTag fine when I first got it. Sat in a drawer and the battery died so changed it and now it seems the notify isn’t working.

I have no location exceptions on (except it keeps turning on automatically an old address of mine which I lived at way before getting the AirTag - this isn’t linked to my Apple account/iPhone in anyway I can see now?!). I don’t think this should be an issue anyway since it is no where near where I am now!

I’ve tried removing and readding the air tag but still just the same issue!

Advice regarding sedation

Hi all. Until this week I hadn’t even heard of this!

For years I’ve had what I can only describe as vasivagal syncope (or at least Presyncope) whenever I get a vaccine. I would have to lay down in the pharmacy after one and get the blackness and sweats.

It’s not the needles that’s the issue (I’m fine having my blood taken and I’m also a type 1 diabetic!) I thought I was just managing it by now telling the person administrating it, and lying down to have it done.

However this week I had a fairly scary episode. I was on fentanyl and midazolam for an IVF egg collection. Both of these seem to have low blood pressure as a side effect. I was very nervous before the procedure, hadn’t eaten for 12 hours and only had minimal water.

Basically I had a massive blood pressure and blood oxygen drop. I didn’t actually pass out but felt very close! Just trying to get my head around it and get over the trauma a little bit. Also curious in case I have to have another egg collection, and wondering if it’s more to do with those triggers (lack of food, anxiety) rather than the two meds?

Thanks all for reading!

Egg collection drugs

Hi all - just wondering what combination of painkiller/sedation people had for their egg collection?

I had fentanyl and midazolam and one of them caused a significant drop in my blood pressure during the procedure. I was alert for it and no drowsiness at all really. Just quite a traumatic experience.

Just preparing if we have to go through it all again what options there are!

Dog suddenly dislikes collar/harness

Just looking for some advice. Hector has just turned 2. He has definitely become a bit grumpier and less obedient when he thinks he has to do something he doesn’t want too! He seems to be getting snappy when he is overstimulated.

The past week he has become really snappy when trying to get his harness off after a walk. Putting it on, he puts his head down as if he doesn’t want it on but lets us. As soon as we are back from the walk it’s as if he is on guard ready for it being taken off. We thought he might no longer like the harness going over his head so tried walking today on just a lead. Same thing happened when trying to take the lead off the collar, and then the collar off.

I’ve checked him over and he doesn’t seem to be in any pain. Also he is not bothered at all about the harness/collar when it’s not on him so don’t think he is resource guarding it.

He used to go straight to rest after a walk, whereas now he seems to be quite hyper afterward.

We are planning to try chemical castration soon. It seems like it could be hormonal?

IVF - higher risk for clots?

I am just at the beginning of IVF

For background: had a leg DVT back in 2010 (when I was 20). I had been on the combined contraceptive pill for about 4 years at that point. Went on a 14 hour flight and ended up with a DVT! No Factor V or any other causes ever found.

My fertility clinic are planning to put me on enoxaparin the day after my egg collection. From what I can gather the main risk comes if I develop OHSS. However I see one of the very rare side effects of the stimulation medication is Thromboembolism. I don’t think they want me to go on the enoxaparin before egg collection due to possible bleeding.

Has anyone else gone through IVF post DVT?

Has anyone encountered the Freedeliveryzone.com Fraud/Scam?

My mum found a payment to them for £18.88 in her banking app (and two charges from her bank for an international conversion)

I found the website, managed to ‘reset’ her password and sign in to see a subscription on there. Cancelled it immediately.

I asked her if she had made any other purchases and then clicked on this as an ‘offer’ thinking it was one of those free cashback ones. She said she hadn’t. I checked her banking and no other payments for anything around that time. Other odd thing was, on the subscription website, the last 4 digits weren’t actually her card, but the Apple Pay reference for that card.

Raised it with TSB who said it was made from her iPhone and gave us her exact date and time. This was very early one morning, and no use of her phone to pay for anything. Very odd. They said it wasn’t fraud or a scam as it shows a payment made with her iPhone, which was with her at all times.

Not overly bothered about the refund for the £18 but interested to know what could have happened here to stop it happening again!

Recommendations for first EV

I currently have diesel Skoda Octavia estate. Love the car but I now WFH all the time and barely drive it. We have also just moved now and have a decent drive and space for a charger so trading it in and getting an EV has been my thought.

I don’t really need a big car. However it does need to be able to fit a dog in the boot, crated. The main thing that drew me to the Octavia was comfort (although not as comfy as my husbands superb!), good value for money (good tech without breaking the bank!) and I’ve had no issues mechanically in the 5 years I’ve had it. Ideally used as I don’t have a massive budget, and will part-ex my car in.

Any recommendations?

Help with lower shoulder blade pain when standing.

Yesterday I woke up feeling fine. Took the dog out and then early afternoon started getting a really bad pain in my back - kind of where my shoulder blade meets my spine. It’s only really present when I’m stood up. I can’t really stand for longer than a few minutes. Being laid or sat down is fine.

I wonder if I’ve just pulled a muscle by either sleeping funny or having a heavy bag over the weekend?

Ice and heat aren’t doing too much yet.

I do have lower back issues which have been largely ok lately and doesn’t quite feel like that, but is possibly nerve related. It’s hard to remember what that pain felt like!

Help accessing HMRC services as a Civil Servant

Going to start by saying I am a civil servant, which is why I am in this predicament!

Submitted a paper form to HMRC to claim back stamp duty (there was about a month when I hadn’t sold my old house, but bought a new one). It has now been about 10 weeks and I’ve heard nothing.

Rang the PD line, but they deal with everything other than stamp duty.

Rang the normal stamp duty line. They say all they can do is refer to the ‘restricted access team’. 4 referrals have been made to them now to contact me. I’ve had a promise of three manager call backs now - had none.

Submitted a formal complaint by post and heard nothing back from that (read this can take months to even get dealt with!)

It’s not a small amount of money and I am now lost on what steps to take/who to contact or complain to. The guide is 6 weeks but haven’t even heard if it has been received. Sent the complaint tracked but all it does is get signed for at a front desk.

It’s not an insignificant amount of money, but it’s more the confirmation I wanted that it is being dealt with. Feels very frustrating that we received a lesser service, due to vetting status, that I can’t just use the online system and track it.

Much appreciate any advice!

ID this treat - UK

Can anyone ID this? Searched for chicken drumstick, lollipop and thought it might be the GoodBoy brand but not having any luck!

Something in it gives my dog a poorly tummy (maybe peanut?) so wanted to check the ingredients but threw the bag away!

Stamp Duty Refund - Contact Team?

Cut a long story short (ish)! Submitted a paper form for a refund 6 weeks ago. Not heard anything. I can’t access the online systems (or talk to anyone on the ‘normal’ phone line for this) due to my job and not being about to use any HMRC online systems. When I call they make a referral to the restricted team and then I still hear nothing.

Does anyone have a contact for the restricted team?? Thanks!

Can I make this ‘built in’?

Just bought a house with a log burner. Want to know if it’s possible (safe/legal) to make it more built in so it looks like a stone fireplace with a mantle

Dog snapping - can’t work out exact trigger!

I have an almost two year old Schnoodle, male, not yet neutered.

He hurt his leg (all by himself!) when he was a puppy (overextension) and had to have some crate time and fairly strong painkillers for a few days. He has been fine since. Since then he hates having his back legs touched. Not all the time, but often when they are wet after a walk and need drying.

He is particularly worse when my husband or mum do it, and usually lets me. He is very bonded to me, as I am here with him everyday (and probably don’t tell him off, just try and give him space when he is grumpy). He will sometimes grumble, but sometimes just straight into what I can describe as a wild noise and snaps (never bites).

We thought the trigger was the legs (or thinking he is going to get wet - hates the bath!), but today I said to him to go and say bye to his grandma as we were leaving her house. He went up to her, put his back against her as if he wanted stroking, then went for her when she stroked him!

I wonder if it is more overstimulated? It’s often straight after a walk, or when he is overtired, as he isn’t much of a napper, especially if we are busy!

Concerned as we are planning a family in the next year, and especially rely on my mum to walk him a couple of times a week!
