Hitchcock's movies - has anyone watched them in release order (either as a first watch or a rewatch)? Are they all available?
While there are a number of Hitchcock movies that I really love there are quite a few that I've never seen before, particularly those from the 20s and 30s (not intentionally so).
So I thought to myself ...... why not watch them all in release order?
But is this even possible? I'm guessing that a number of his earlier movies in particular aren't available on physical media or any streaming services, and weren't some of his very early movies lost?
NordVPN and Firefox, the latter is now reporting " Be careful. Something doesn’t look right."
Over the past few days a problem has cropped up between Firefox and NordVPN - if NordVPN is running (doesn't need to be connected to a server) and I try and access ANY web site, Firefox puts up a message (the following example is when accessing google.com), as follows:
Be careful. Something doesn’t look right.
Firefox spotted a potentially serious security issue with www.google.com. Someone pretending to be the site could try to steal things like credit card info, passwords, or emails.
www.google.com has a security policy called HTTP Strict Transport Security (HSTS), which means that Firefox can only connect to it securely. You can’t add an exception to visit this site.
What makes the site look dangerous?
Peer’s certificate has an invalid signature.
Error Code: SEC_ERROR_BAD_SIGNATURE
However, if I use any browser other than Firefox I don't see the warning, so this is Firefox and NordVPN not playing ball. Any ideas please?
Note that I'm using Windows 10 Pro, the latest update is installed.

Has Miyazaki ever commented exceptionally favorably about an animated movie (or series)?
The very best example I can find of his very high praise is regarding the 30 minute animated film 'The Man Who Planted Trees'. In fact, it was only due to my great admiration for this really wonderful movie that I found that Miyazaki also really loved it. He had this to say:
"“Even were I not involved in animation, I still would have thought I had seen something wonderful when I saw this film. This is a powerful work that couldn’t have been made halfheartedly. . . My hat goes off to Back [Frédéric Back, the director] for giving such a wonderful form to this motif by using such an expressive medium as animation."
I bought the DVD years ago (I wish it was on Blu-ray too!) but there is an HD version on YouTube (in fact as it's a Canada production there are two 'versions' - an English version that is beautifully narrated by the late Christopher Plummer, and a French version narrated by Philippe Noiret).
What other animated films (or series) has Miyazaki very highly praised?
(note that the example of Miyazaki's praise that I quoted above is from his book Starting Point: 1979-1996 - this is an anthology and compilation of materials he generated over the first two decades of his directing career).
Also worthy of note is that Miyazaki's friend and co-founder of Studio Ghibli, Isao Takahata (director of Grave of the Fireflies and others) even wrote a book about The Man Who Planted Trees, titled: Reading "The Man Who Planted Trees" - he was a huge admirer of the director's work. Sadly the book was only ever released in Japan, there's no translation in any other language.

theins.pressApparently intentional incompatibility - a rant
I'm in the UK and have owned a Panasonic SD-2500 breadmaker for well over ten years. It was though getting a bit long in the tooth and developing some issues so I bought a newer model a few days ago, the Panasonic SD-B2510
The newer model has a different physical design and a few extra bread and dough menu options but it's about the same on the whole in terms of overall functionality.
One thing that annoyed me is that the main dough/bread tin, while being the same volume as the tin in the old 2500, is ever so slightly different in height, width and length, just by a few millimetres. Also, the drive coupling assembly (that engages with the motor connection in the base of the machine) is also a few millimetres smaller in diameter.
To my mind this seems like intentional incompatibility; from the consumers point of view I can think of no good reason why the new machine would have been designed in such a way that it won't take the old bread tin from the 2500, 2501, etc. I guess Panasonic could dig up some excuses though.
On the positive side, the old paddle from the 2500 is exactly the same as the new one in the 2510. So, er, well done Panasonic?

This was the 12th launch and landing for booster 1090. The Merlin engine used for landing will of course have carried out some extra gimbaling to compensate. Nicely done.

The key thing being that they won't need a new transport erector so it will be rolled out to the pad vertically (but they can't construct it vertically due to the lack of a suitable building to do that - they don't have Mega Bays (or Giga Bays) like SpaceX.
"we had already been working for some time on eliminating our transporter-erector in favor of an alternative vertical conop, and we’ll now go directly to that; so we don’t need a new transporter-erector."
They still need a launch tower of course.

tomshardware.comKinesis Freestyle Pro - best way to replace worn out keycaps?
The keys on this keyboard have a font that takes up the top half of each key and are centered too (so not in one corner):
https://www.amazon.co.uk/Freestyle-Ergonomic-Mechanical-Programmable-Adjustable/dp/B07CX9KQRQ
I can't seem to find suitable replacement keycaps so was thinking of using something like rub on Letraset letters and then sealing and protecting them with a suitable spray.
Is this a viable option?
Would also love to know the name of the font that's used, or something very similar. I have about a dozen keys which have had the letters worn off completely.
This anime short (12 minutes runtime) is so rarely mentioned here and it really deserves more recognition.
Released in 2008 it's a Japanese production directed by Kunio Katō - it uses an art style influenced by French and European animation which is why it looks so very different to the anime we are most familiar with. Because of the art style it has a French title of 'La Maison en Petits Cubes' (Japanese title: 'Tsumiki no ie').
It's been uploaded to YouTube a number of times over the years, for example:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=j0YSFvPTm2A
Give it a try if you want to see something different that is both very relaxing and sad.
Can you think of any other anime that looks nothing like the more 'traditional' anime?
