Pop tart sandwich update

Pop tart sandwich update

Hi everyone! I am now back in civilization and wanted to update you all on the Pop Tart and Peanut Butter sandwiches. It turns out I think they are gross. Ate them the first two days for lunches and it turned my stomach a little each time. I ended up giving the peanut butter to other people in my group and ate the Pop Tarts plain. Thanks to a commenter mentioning how fragile Pop Tarts are, I 3D printed a Pop Tart vault. It has a hinge and protected my lunch for minimal weight.

Pop Tarts as lunch: 4/5
With peanut butter and bacon bits 2.5/5

Best flavor pop tart for PB?

Hello you beautiful weirdos. I have a 50 miler backpacking trip coming up in a couple weeks. I’ve been inspired by the creative combinations you all post here.

I want to do pop tart sandwiches for lunch. So 2 pop tarts per lunch with PB in the middle. What’s the best pop tart flavor to use for this debauchery? I was originally thinking of doing the brown sugar ones but I want to hear what you weirdos think.

Also… if I went with a spam single instead of PB, what flavor works best?

Thank you all!

FTN5 Slim thread issue

Hey everyone,

I’m getting much closer to having a good print. I waited all day for my print to finish and it looked great, but the threads would not engage properly with the metal thread adapter. I spent a lot of time tightening and backing off the thread adapter hoping it would level out or cut its own threads, but it never did.

When I imported the file to Orca to set my settings to 300blkfde’s settings, a warning popped up saying something about highly recommending I “simplify” the file. I did that, and just used “medium” settings on that pop-up.

I am also printing Fiberon PA612-CF15 filament on a hardened 0.6mm nozzle at 280C (my machine’s max but within the recommended range from Fiberon.

Should I just try again without the “simplifying”? I’m assuming this is the way, just wasn’t sure if anyone had similar issues and how they overcame them.

Thank you all. I have really appreciated all the help I’ve received so far.

Nylon PA6CF too fast a print?

Working on my first two suppressor stamps and 3d printing some rimfire cans. I upgraded my hot end to a hardened nozzle version and got some Nylon PA6CF filament to print with.

I imported what I thought was 300BLKFDE’s settings from the Sea and plopped down the FTN5 Rimfire Slim’s model. It’s printing great and looks good, but really fast. It’s going to finish at around 3 hrs. When I’ve googled how long it takes to print these cans I hear it’s usually a 24 hour or so print.

My form 1 is for this design with an aluminum tube on the outside. Should I be concerned it printed so fast?

Aftermarket hotends Flashforge Adventurer 5M

Does anyone have experience with replacement hotends like this? I want to start printing carbon fiber filament. It looks like the Adventurer 5M is capable of getting hot enough to print this, but I’ve read I need a hardened steel nozzle to handle the abrasiveness of the CF filament. I went down a rabbit hole and found that I have to replace the whole hotend on this machine in order to get a hardened steel nozzle.

I came across this aftermarket hotend that has replaceable nozzles and is made of hardened steel. It’s also much less expensive.

Has anyone used these? I figure I’m going to try it out and I can always return it to Amazon if it fails. Do I need to change any settings for the machine?

New front sight - TruGlo

First post here. I bought a threaded barrel Ruger Mark 4 22/45. Went out and shot it, then realized I didn’t love the black on black sights. I ordered this TruGlo sight and I’m pleasantly surprised with how good it looks and how easy it was to swap out. It is even brighter outside. This should work till I put a red dot on it someday. Also got my tax stamps back from the ATF, so I’m 3d printing a suppressor for it today!

FTN 4.5 .300 blk question

Has anyone run supersonic .300 blk through an FTN 4 or 4.5 rifle suppressor? If so, how do you like it?

I’m debating filing for a Form 1 for my 16” 300 blk AR upper. I am not yet set up for CF filament printing. Would it be a total waste to make this in PLA+, if I do it this way, should I use the 36 cal instead of 30 to give some relief from the pressure?

My 300 blk upper is set up for deer hunting. It’s 16” and I wouldn’t be mag dumping it or anything. I know it’ll be louder with supers than subs, just hoping to not damage my hearing if I take a shot without earpro.
