Tips for dealing with the lack of aim assist

I suck at PVP in this game, the lack of auto aim is brutal. I have thousands of hours in COD and other FPS games with auto aim that are working against me.

What can I do to fix this (apart from get more PVP experience, such as play PVP servers). Should I turn off aim assist since it works on infecte only and that will help me learn faster? Should I dial down the joystick sensitivity? To what? Any tips? I'm thinking moving around more to move the cursor rather than move the cursor since it is a slower movement... Any tips are appreciated.

What pads for HDB 630 - slightly thicker while preserving seal / sound quality?

I got the wicked cushions freeze, but there is a pronounced decline in ANC, and bass/mid performance. What pads should I get? My only issue with the originals is they aren't deep enough for my elephant ears. I want the original sound while preserving comfort.

My experience with the HDB 630's as a non-audiophile

I recently got some Audeze Maxwell 2's for gaming, and after realizing how incredible those sounded, it had me questioning my Bose Quiet Comfort 35 II's, which I got around 7 years ago.

I'm definitely one of those people who thought Bose sounded good. After all, really crappy speakers have zero bass, and Bose has bass. I thought having bass with punch and body meant good sound. After listening with the Maxwell 2's, I realized there was an ENTIRE LAYER to all the music I loved that I was missing. Tiny effects like hearing the bow move on strings. Ghost notes on piano. Soft voices. The QC 35 II's blended everything but prominent sounds to be absolute mush and mud.

After watching a bunch of YouTube videos on Audiophile headphones, I settled on the HDB 630's, and man did these not disappoint. They are a level above the Maxwell 2's. The sound isolation is better than the Maxwell 2's, yet without it feeling as robotic. Strings and voices have warmth, and an intimate presence. You feel like they are recording their music next to you - not like you are listening to it. Meanwhile, the bass has punch and body without drowning everything out. Everything is clear, sounds great.. The channel separation from L to R is incredible. Songs where the producer puts great effort into L/R balance are amazing to listen to.

The ANC is regarded is "good" compared to the newest Bose equivalent (Quiet Comfort Ultras Gen II's), but compared to my QC 35 II's, this ANC is incredible except for very specific frequencies. I am not somebody who needed incredible ANC, I am not on a plane/train very much. But it's interesting that the ANC is not regarded as amazing, when compared to headphones from 7 years ago, it blows them out of the water. Perspective on this matters.

I'm not sure I will get to the Audiophile level of preferring wired, open back headphones, and picking out DAC's, amps, etc, but as somebody who wants really incredible portable audio at not at an absolute insane price, I have to say these headphones are incredibly impressive, and I will never again look at Bose the same way. Or the crap sound system that came in my car which sadly sounds awful now :(.

If you aren't sure about what to get if you want a really good pair of headphones and are not an audiophile, if you have the money, do not think twice, just get the HDB 630's. You will not regret it.

Maxwell 2's - Love these!

There are a lot of posts on this subreddit about how these headphones have issues, so I wanted to say mine are great.

I'm upgrading from Steel Series Arctis 9x Headphones I got 6 years ago. I also have Airpods, and Bose Quiet Comfort headphones from around 6 years ago as well. I picked these because rtings.com gave them a top rating. I tried the Arctis Nova Pro's and Astra A50's at Best Buy. The A50's had really good immersion and bass, but I didn't like the gamer style design and the fit felt weird with the squarish fabric pads. The Nova Pro's sounded like my 9X's - not really much better.

When I got the Maxwell 2's, I updated the firmware (also make sure to restart the headphones after doing this for it to take effect), and then listened to a bunch of stuff on my iPhone. Honestly, I spent the first night just listening to music rather than gaming.

The clarity and soundstage are incredible. I understand why audiophiles hate Bose now. Now that stuff sounds like bass heavy muddy garbage. No mids at all. I had no clue how much stuff in the mids was being hidden. I can really hear how things were mixed - each sample in hip hop or house music, I can hear when the samples cut in and out, hear the exact reverb effects used. With instruments, you can hear the touch of the musician, not just the general note played. Orchestral music sounds incredible. If well mixed/produced, you can almost feel the individual instruments at different spots around you, allowing you to single out instruments and hear them very clearly.

Sure, they are heavy, but I've worn helmets and toques my whole life, ski goggles, etc, this is nothing bad. I just can't headbang wearing them which is not something I want to do anyways. I don't think they are really heavy, but most headphones are crazy light. These feel medium heavy to me.

There is a very almost imperceptible muffled hiss that people have reported, but I don't notice it most of the time. Maybe if I were in a dead silent room it would bother me.

What makes me the most mad is that now I feel like I need to get a better pair of headphones for listening to music - these are just for gaming. Sigh. I always thought audiophiles were just elitist snobs, but they are right about Bose.

Anyway, I can't wait to use these for gaming!

Lack of mics

A headset with mic is like $20 now, playing without a mic is INEXCUSABLE.

Every time I run into someone and it doesn’t go immediately to violence, I ask them if I have a mic. Literally almost no one does. It would make the game so much better if they did.

I picked up a Tarmac SL8 Expert a week ago. I live in a city with pretty crappy pavement, so I picked this over other race bikes due to how it was supposed to be compliant and absorb road buzz pretty well for a race bike. I got the LBS to put 32mm Continential GP5000's on it to help with our roads.

I have to say... this bike is insanely smooth. I also have a Canyon Grail, and this bike is somehow smoother on the roads, even though it has 32mm tires and the Grail has 40's. The Tarmac soaks up the bumps unbelievably well. Of course if I hit a really bad piece of pavement I feel it, but for very minor bumps the Tarmac is smoother and nicer to ride. The grail is "bone chattering" on bumps. It feels stiffer throughout compared to the Tarmac, but the Tarmac feels like it's stiffer only where needed to be.

I am absolutely blown away. Best bike I've ever rode.
