Aerocolor in E6 too dark?

Cross processed Aerocolor in E6. Looks pretty dark. First time doing E6 so not confident in my troubleshooting. Used Unicolor e6 kit. My experience in normal dev plus knowledge of the process tells me too long in the first dev or underexposed, but I rated it at 100ISO and my camera light meter is accurate when compared to a L-858. So probably too long first dev? I followed the kits instructions to a T however. Unsure where I went wrong. Pic 1 is held up to light, pic 2 is on the light table. Results online of this cross process on the light table looks much better

First time grilling. Forgot the money shot sorry guys

Continuing my journey of cooking outside of my kitchen job with the grill. Not a fan of how much the temp can vary when at the same gas setting. Seared for like 10 mins, closed lid for 5, rested for 5. Came out borderline rare. Would prefer med rare on a skirt steak. Went on some tacos. Bit chewy. Marinade was fire. Homemade everything (s/o to my friends). Hidden flank steak resting in the back of too.

First time cooking a steak at home

Clickbait title, I’ve worked in kitchens for the past 7 yrs but was vegatarian the whole time so never ate any meat at home or really cooked at home. Stole a hanger to see if I could still make it well without an industrial kitchen to inflate my ego. Came out alright. Pan seared in some clarified herb butter, oven for a couple minutes, rested for some more. Should’ve made a glaze. Oven roasted broccoli and potatoes/mushrooms.

Looking for somewhere to get a Nikon F CLA’d that can adjust/fix the Photomic FTn finder

Just got a Nikon F with the FTn finder and it works fine but needs quite a clean and probably a full CLA.

The finder is quite out of spec when tested against my spot meter, when when adjusting for the higher voltage, needs like an adjusted ASA of 6400 when comparing to an ASA 400 metering. Assuming something’s bad, would like to be it fixed and converted for use with 1.5V batteries.

Hopefully somewhere like this exists? US based

3rd time this week I find this guy in my house

Phidippus audax. 5 if you count the two times I saw one right outside my door. How likely is it that it’s the same spider? I put it right back on my porch where there are lots of flys and ants every time. Biggest jumping spider I’ve ever seen

Anybody know what enlarger these carriers are for?

Photos 1-2 and 3-4 are the same carriers. Came with some omega d2 enlargers but don’t look anything like the regular carriers for them

Looking for motor agitated drum holders like the Uniroller

Looking to buy a drum holders that is motorized. Hand rolling the drums is taking its toll. Is there any available options for this? Only ones I can find on eBay are the Uniroller brand and are 100+$ which isn’t worth it to me for a price of equipment that old. If it was new I would be willing to pay more. Unsure if there is a store out there making them new like Reflx does with film development.

Seeing as it’s just a motor that goes back and forth I could make my own pretty easy since I went to college for that but I won’t have the time or space for electronic development for a long time

Thoughts on Color Analyzers by those who have used them?

I have a Beseler Color Analyzer, never used one before. Does it actually save a good amount of time when printing? Dialing in a filter pack is quite time consuming, would love to short that bit.

My knowledge on using one is that you use a bit of a frame as reference that is the same EV level and color across other frames to get the right filter pack. Seems like you need to go thru the whole process of test strips and fiddling with the filters before actually using the color analyzer to have a standard reference

So if I usually shoot rolls that vary scenes and lighting quite a bit this piece of equipment is a bit useless correct? My rolls of film can have multiple days and many lighting conditions on them, I take multiple photos of one scene but usually only ever print one that I like the most. I used to have a Beseler Color Calculator (diffuse frame, expose a color chart that will tell you how to correct to get to middle grey), and I found it less time consuming to just have a starting point filter pack to work from.

Cinestill's FAQ page sure has some specific questions

Far as I know Cinestill didn't sue anyone, but most definitely did send emails to companies using the 800T branding on any respooled 500T. Guess they put some specific FAQ posts about the situation. I don't support their business as their chemicals are hot garbage, see any posts about their monobaths or Cs6 kits. And their film equipment is overpriced as hell, like their 100$ sous vide that is a rebrand of a 40$ one from Amazon. Their film is crazy high priced too. Hopefully the release of the AHU Vision3 trickles down to the still-photography market, seems to already be present in the EU

Chemical mislabeling on Cinestill Cs6 plus dirty re first dev

Cinestill’s simplified E6 kit has its part C bleach mix mislabeled. On the bottle it says Ferric Ammonium EDTA, but the box says Metabisulfite and Acetic Acid. Seeing as EDTA is a brown ass liquid I figured something was up. Assuming mislabeled as part B but as the labels for part B look much different it’s a big oversight imo

Further more, the first b&w developer came out incredibly brown with precipitates that would not dissolve after minutes of stirring in 135F water. A leader test at least showed that the developer is working. The info sheet says that once the developer turns dark brown/amber that means it’s exhausted. Bit confusing ngl

Never been a huge fan of Cinestill and wouldn’t have bought their kit if I had another option but damn everytime I see something done by them it disappoints me. Haven’t developed anything in it but interested to see how it compares to a full 6 bath process.

Will try and contact Cinestill support to let them know about the mislabel as that’s pretty important for safety

Got some Vision3 with the remjet that I’m wanting to process in c-41. Is there any issue with doing this at home in tanks? I know labs don’t do it to avoid gunking up the machines but if I just use a prewash to remove the remjet it’s fine right? Even if I didn’t remove it fully it’s fine? Won’t kill my chemicals. I can see it probably getting stuck to regular c-41 film if I reuse the solution

I shoot 35mm, 120, 4x5, and 8x10 and the development gear I have is getting to be a bit much. Would like to condense everything into one system or something. Right now I use stainless steel tanks and reels for 35mm and 120, a cut sheet developing tank for 4x5, and tray developing for 8x10.

Is there a single drum that can handle all of these formats? Not at the same time, but it would be nice to have one single developing tank, and reels for each format so I don’t have to have multiple tanks. Tray developing 8x10 is the worst just from having to sit in the dark for 20-30 minutes agitating the trays.

My volume is pretty inconsistent, I can go from doing like 2-3 rolls of 120/135 at once to 10+ depending on the day. For sheet film I do 3-5 sheets at a time pretty consistently.

I know JOBO drums are the most common for higher volume shooters but not sure if they can do sheet film, and their naming scheme confuses me. Would be nice to be able to do 135 and 120 film at the same time like I do now.

Seen posts on here about getting your account “dinged” if you cancel an order as a seller.
Accidentally listed an item as 2 in stock when I had one a few months ago, both sold overnight. Shipped to the buyer who bought it first, contacted the other buyer, told them I made a mistake, refunded them, canceled the order on eBay and said it was my fault for the double listing etc. didn’t get any negative result from it.
Googling just says strikes and restrictions can occur but I’ve been selling since then without any issues. Curious as what could happen?

The chemical side of film photography always interested me more than the “be good at photography side.” Love messing around with (cross)-processes and how the actual silver gets developed and how the film responds to different conditions during development. Dedicated my pantry to storing the chemistry. I make my own B&W, ECN-2, and C-41 from scratch using photographers formulary and artscraft bulk chemistry. Usually love getting the finest grain and sharpest image from my negatives. Have quite a backlog of developer chemistry I’ve picked up from people clearing out darkrooms. I have enough photoflo to last multiple lifetimes.
Stock chemistry in the 3 drawer organizer, dev tanks and measuring/mixing stuff in the left, working solutions on the right. Wish I could get my hands on Ferric Ammonium EDTA to make my own blix for RA-4 but it impossible for an individual to buy as far as I know

Moved houses and just reorganized everything. Moving and life has prevented me from printing for almost 6 months now and I miss it everyday. I love talking the chemical side of analog photography and even within the darkroom community that I interact with IRL it is still a bit of a niche.

Most people just buy print developer/fixer and make prints (which is valid). I’m pretty young and Even with the film resurgence amongst my generation, most people send off their film for development, even a lot of large format people that I’ve met, which surprised me. Understanding the entire chemical process gave me such a greater appreciation and understanding of film photography as a subject. I develop film for friends and locals who I meet and they are usually taken aback when I say “hey every photo you take I HAVE to look at, just FYI.” I can only image what nasty stuff lab techs saw back in the day.

Want to dabble in RA-4 Reversal. Need to wash off the blue filter coating the paper has. Looking for idea from the community on how to go about it

My Darkroom is my bathroom, so I can't leave the room without exposing the paper to the light from the windows outside my bathroom. Not sure how i can hang the paper to dry with this set up.

My only idea is to wait until night, my house gets pitch black, wash the paper, leave the bathroom, and let dry until the next time it is night. Problem is that I don't know if the paper will dry in 24 hours.

Since i work long hours, i can leave the bathroom for a full 24 hours, but not any longer since i need to shower.

I also have a darkbag but I cannot figure out a way to dry something inside a enclosed cloth bag. Maybe a small fan and hanger or something
