Is this normal? I had an ad with a cpc in my target range and it was rock solid. Then I added a new ad set under that same campaign and the cpc is 3-6x what it was.

Like the title says, all I did was ad a new ad set under the same campaign to try a new creative. As soon as I did that, I went from a consistent $0.50-60 per hypeddit smart link click (good for my audience) to anywhere from $1.50-$3.00.

I'm assuming that adding a new ad set to the campaign caused the other ad set to re-enter learning? And now that it's competing against another ad set for the same audience, its turned into absolute cheeks?

This would be fine if the new creative was cost effective, but that one isn't either. The song itself is performing well, so thats not the issue (really high save rates from people that click through, already getting a lot of Radio play 2 weeks in etc)

Am I running the ads wrong by adding new ad sets? Do I need to start a new campaign so that I don't break the ad that is running fine? Every day, Meta confuses me in new ways.

Have you let a service manage your Meta ads for you? How was your experience?

I work with a lot of younger artists that have legitimately great music but zero marketing strategy and I never know how to fully advise them.

I know they should be running Meta ads (on top of organic growth), but I'm hesitant to recommend a service when I haven't tried them.

Im also hesitant to say "run them yourselves" because I'm currently doing that for my own music and theres just so much that can go wrong and lots of troubleshooting.

SO, anyone have any recs? There are so many services and I'm not sure which ones actually deliver results rather than just take your money and underperform in a blackbox you cant see inside.

Ad set less than 24 hours old with less than 50 conversions says "active" instead of "learning" in the delivery column. Is that normal or did I break something?

This is my first meta ad set. I was told that it spends time in a learning phase and requires 7 days or 50 conversions. Meta's own help docs list a learning icon that you will see under delivery status.

Is something broken or does meta show active status for ads still learning?

Is there any reason to not run an ad thats longer than 30 seconds?

Im trying to decide how to chop up my song for meta ads and its my first campaign. Using half a verse to stay under 30 doesnt feel compelling, but the full verse is like 38 seconds.

Is there some reason why I need it to be 15-20 seconds long?

About to release this song and looking for other artist comps to help with marketing. Also curious what genre this feels closest to.

Im interested in getting some gut reactions of what other artists this reminds people of. Sometimes what I think it sounds like is pretty far off from what other people think.

Also not really sure what genre to place this in, or if that even matters. Its folky because of acoustics, but opens up at the end into something else.

Does anyone know if there are still MAGA type gatherings on street corners in Metro Detroit? Trying to capture footage for a video project.

For a long time, there would be small crowds that would get together with signs and hang out at 23 and Van Dyke. I’m curious if these groups are still meeting. I’m not a part of that world so I’m not sure who to ask other than to crowdsource the info here.

Any help is appreciated!

Would love help figuring out what other artists I sound like.

Would love for anyone to take a listen and tell me what references come to mind. I think this falls generally in the "indie" genre, but not really sure after that. I really want fresh opinions on what other artists or songs come to mind.

I haven't released new music in a long time and a lot of the advice I've read on how to find your audience involves finding similar artists, which lead me here. Appreciate any help I can get!
