Is this mileage normal?

I’ve had my 2006 Scion tC for about 8 months now. It has 135,000 miles. I only get about 200 MPG. It lasts me about two weeks since I only drive it a 8 miles everyday Monday-Friday, in a 2 mile radius since I’m a Maintenance Tech and only need to drive to certain properties. I barely drive far, could that be the problem? I feel like I could be getting more out of it.

Ideas for July 4th in Manhattan Beach?

My girlfriend and I are heading down to Manhattan beach for July 4th (Ubering ofc). It’s our first time not doing anything with family, and we plan to bar hop, have some good food, and try to see the fireworks somewhere. Any bar recommendations, food spots, or early 20’s activities?

Why does my car do this?

Why does my 2006 Scion tC do this while idling or driving? The car is great and hasn’t given me any problems.

I plan on moving out in October from my parent’s house. I get along with my parents, but I think it’s time to step out on my own and find my way, independently. They don’t charge rent which is great, but in their own ways they’re kind of controlling and I want to get out of here before it gets worse for my mental health. I’m currently in the Los angeles area. I should have about $18,000 saved up by then for first month’s rent, last month’s rent, and security deposit. I also should have about 5 months of rent covered (depending on the rent itself). I plan on finding a studio or 1 bedroom apartment, depends what I find more convenient. I have a steady job with a steady income, with major opportunity for growth at some point. I’m scared to take the step, but at the same time i’m ready. Any tips or advice anyone may have?
