Reset falling retention "wall"

We have low retention wall going from waist to below knee height as the ground rises. Part of it is tipping and a section has fresh er brick already.

My thoughts are relief holes with rock/screen filter with pipe through the brick to allow water to drain out vs swell.

Or more in-depthly,

Excavate behind the wall, maybe build a French drain along the higher side, and brace the front with wood panels and use threaded rod or 2x4s against the curb side I can expand or shim out to push the wall back once the high side pressure is released.

Most other posts were more extreme and trended towards a replacement but also larger walls

Best color matching repair option?

Century home here. This is smoother than any grout I've seen and some parts have yellowed ish in spots. Wife thinks a lot of stuff from then, mid east coat, was limestone based.

What's the best way to color match and fill? Especially against the house. Local options are super limited in what they carry to see in person and are just big box stores.

Glass Repair

Any advice on repairing old glass? We've got cracks and unfortunately near enough a military base the glass does rattle during certain exercises.

I thought of the same UV curing resin used on windshields and other glass repair. Small needle, push it into the crack, let start to cure, wipe excess.

I am NOT in the position to remove and start redoing windows though that is the plan at some point. Other more pressing issues like redoing the floors and piping first.

Condensation is cause it's cooler inside than out but it's all on the external side of the glass

Realign Triple Door Problem

I've been fixing doors throughout the house and I'm stumped here. It's a century home so everything has shifted.

All hinges are 3 hole and plan to remove, dowel, and reseat them all.

Doors 1 and 2 fold together when open and connected 3 hinges. Door 1 clears the floor but door 2 hits the floor. The hinges feel tight and when the doors are closed there is plenty of clearance to the floor which makes me not want to cut the bottom. Door 1 has a vertical latch that's misaligned but the lower floor latch lines up.

Doors 2 and 3 latch together when closed with a normal knob. It barely makes it as the lateral distance between them has grown. Door 3 opens and closes fine without issue, both top and bottom locks work.

Thoughts on how to attack this or find where the correct issue(s) are so I'm not fixing symptoms vs the problem?

If I cut the bottoms I'd have to make them even and then would likely use an automatic door sweep to seal to the floor when closed.

Quarter round trim into plaster, stair case

Anyone know the right way to put trim down along stairs? The stairs are a bit gapped on the wall side and we want to continue the trim.

Nail gun? Adhesive?

Range hood, old chimney

Looking to install a recirculating range hood (until we can duct correctly) and the only option is the old brick chimney. It's been plastered over but doubt there's structural framing other than the brick.

Is the brick sufficient? The load should largely be sheer with some pullout I would think.

No click and drag bookmark - Windows

Has anyone else had the "click and drag" feature for adding bookmarks to the bookmark bar break? It no longer works for me at all. Last posts I found were all from 2022 or so and none of them fixed it.

Not sure why reddit automatically blocked it but here's the next try!

is it a text limit issue?

Previous owner painted brick

Previous owner painted the brick in the basement. There was water seepage from somewhere cause they destroyed a concrete pad. We put in a French drain and sump, no issues since.

Outside of the house was painted with brick paint but we noticed two spots on the corner looked like this photo here. This white paint is unknown. Do we have a concern? I noticed it flaking and flicked the rest off with my finger with little effort. The edges left seem solid

Oreck Orbiter

Redoing our entire century home floors cause it needs it. Picked up what I thought was a buffer but turns out to be a burnisher so too high an RPM.

Used machine options are limited near me less one overpays for a rusted POS.

Would an Oreck Orbiter work in place of the traditional floor buffers? Just smaller and maybe a little weaker but rpms are right and says 1/2 hp
