Ceramic tint (and PPF) - done!

Ceramic front side windows to match rears and 55% on front windshield. PPF on front end including bumper, hood, fenders, lights, mirrors, a pillars, roof cap. Also had the rear bumper covered. That piano black paint has me worried.

I have done the front windshield on my last four cars. While this one looks really dark, it’s the same as my other cars - 55%. Between the dark interior and the very dark other windows it makes it look black.

Trans overheat warning

2015 Impreza with 139k miles. At 133k and again at 135k we did a drain/fill of the transmission. Last done this past December. We did it twice with a few thousand miles in between since it has never been changed and that was the advice after watching multiple videos on the procedure. Beginning in July, the light would come on. We’d pull over immediately and let it idle and it always goes off almost right away. It happens on the hwy (speed) or going up a pass (load). It’s happened four times now. We’ve had a very hot July in Colorado hovering around 100F.

I’m going to jack it up this weekend and make sure it’s full (we did do the procedure of topping it after going through the gears). The only other thing I can think of is that we did NOT use Subaru ATF, but a high quality equivalent that meets their specs.

Any other ideas?

Vision Fence-Off Zone

Thought I share something interesting (at least for me). When I created my channel from the back to front, my x430 was always challenged navigating this section through my gate.  It didn’t like anything and would wonder up into rocks on the left trying to find its way through.  So, I dropped a Vision Fence-off zone in the middle of the channel and here’s the result - it navigates a like true rock star!!!!

Video of tough turn - x430

I’m on day three of x430 ownership. This is Squirrel Shredder 2. After my previous experience with a different brand, I dipped back in with Prime Days. Very pleasantly surprised so far. Here are some of my stats:
~ 5000 sq feet
3 zones
Kentucky Blue Grass
Keep it set for max height of 4 inches (wish it could go higher)
Mows all three zones using about 45% of battery
Using nRTK

The only big “fail” so far is auto mapping. This was the same with the other mower I tried.
Also, the app takes a bit of getting used to and I think they could do better with the interface wrt redrawing boundaries.

Otherwise, I’m pretty pleased so far.

Thought I’d share this video of a funky turn the mower navigates well (imo).
