I can’t be upset at men for not liking black women when I don’t even like myself

Sometimes I catch myself getting offended or upset when I see a man express that he doesn’t like black women, but then I remember: “Who am I to get upset about that when I don’t even like myself to begin with?”

I don’t even like being a black woman. Everyday I fantasize about being pretty girl of another race, hoping that then I would receive male attention. If I am fantasizing about pretty non-black women, I should also expect them to do the the same.

I just have to learn to cope with it since there’s literally nothing I can do.

I wish I didn’t care so much about race

I’m so fucking tired of constantly looking for threads on Reddit regarding black women. I’m so tired of worrying about what other people are saying about us. I’m tired intentionally looking for content about black women that I know will hurt me; I deliberately search things on the internet hoping that I find anti-black women content or content that reassures my beliefs.

I wish this did not happen to me. There are so many other black women in the world that are not fixated on what people on the internet think of them. They are not deliberately going out of their way to find content that they know will hurt them. I don’t why it had to be me that worries about this.

And I have to admit, I feel like it’s ruining my life right now. It’s literally all I fucking think about; 70% of the thoughts I have daily are about the hateful videos and comments I’ve seen men make about black women, the amount of likes they had, all of the threads I CONSTANTLY see about black women Reddit (and I’m really angry about that by the way. I can’t go one day without seeing a popular post of someone announcing that they don’t like black women or a post of a black women complaining on a predominantly white sub about how much she hates being black. It’s annoying.)

I used to have an eating disorder before this and that almost killed me but I would honestly rather live with that than live like this. Basing my self worth off of the opinions of men on the internet. At least when I had an eating disorder, I wasn’t so male centered and obsessed with male approval.

I just wanna see something positive once in while. I’m tired of all the negativity. I just want to have fun and laugh for a while, and forget about all the shit I see everyday, only for a few hours. It has even gotten to the point that things that are meant to be fun aren’t because I constantly think about the bullshit I see on the internet all day. God help me 💔

they ALWAYS have to add the tall part first lol

mind you, they have no idea whether this guy is really tall or not based off of the video. they’re just assuming that he’s tall/want him to be tall because they find him facially attractive 😂

“Preference” hypocrisy

I've noticed that a lot of people, especially men, are very hypocritical when it comes to (racial) “preferences" (and I'm putting quotations because what they really have are requirements, but that's besides the point).

As we all know, most men don't prefer black women as we are statistically the least desired race of women, and they make sure to tell us that every chance they get. Sometimes these men will make videos expressing their "preferences" regarding race and dating, and the comments will always go something like:

"Preferences aren't racist"

"People are allowed to have preferences"

"It's not racist to not be attracted to black women, it's just preference"

And they're not wrong. It's okay to have preferences, but the same people who say these things literally can't STAND seeing women state their own racial or height preferences.

For example, I have seen some women saying that they aren't attracted to white men, and regardless the race of the women saying it (especially if it's a white woman), you will see white men in the comments calling her a "mudshark" or "future single mother" (which are both insults used for women who date black men, even though black men were never mentioned lmao).

I specifically remember one video of an Asian woman in a dating show saying she wasn't attracted to white men, and the comments completely attacked her (even though she is not even white herself lol).

Not a SINGLE man in the comments saying "preferences aren't racist" or "she's allowed to have preferences", the same way they would respond to a man saying he isn't attracted to black women.

The way they act towards women who have height preferences are also insanely hypocritical, and this is coming for someone who has no problem with short guys.

I won't lie, there are definitely a lot of women who are very vocal about there disdain for short men (the same way men express their disdain for black women) and I think that is wrong, as height is something that you cannot change. But even a woman saying "I prefer tall men" (not mentioning short men whatsoever) is enough to get them riled up. They are quick to call her "hypergamous" and that she "only wants Chad" or just straight up insult her appearance. Again, not a SINGLE man saying that "she's allowed to have preferences".
