Sixth-sense after failed 2 point conversion

Currently up $3.8k on Kalshi, apparently willingness to spend relative to gambling winnings follows a inverse U shape curve where medium winnings cause people to spend the most, my biggest win prior to this was like $300 which i spent on Uber eats and pouches immediately. My willingness to spend after this win just isnt there. Im like irresponsible enough to throw $1.6k on the patriots but responsible enough to justify putting aside money for the IRS.

Delicate situation on probation

Hello probation officers/probationers

I'm currently on a 2 year probation sentence in Wisconsin. My supervision started on February 6th 2026, so I'm about 7 months into my supervision. I have no compliance issues at all so far and my restitution is completely paid off and my supervision fees are paid off until February 2027. I've been through 3 agents so far and I had my first agent for about 4 months and the second agent quit after having my case for a month. I also have stable employment and have been employed since late June.

Despite my perfect compliance and demonstrated fiscal responsibility, my security level is medium. My first agent actually wanted to move me to minimum back in August but I got switched to a new agent and then another new agent and it never happened. While starting supervision I also was in drug/substance abuse rehab voluntarily(not court ordered) then to treatment then to a sober house and then finally to apartment living most recently and all these transitions happened over the course of the last 7 months.

Anyways for the officers/probationers who aren't aware of how early termination works in Wisconsin, the Department of Corrections which manages both probation and parole has sole discretion to grant early termination not even the judge or an attorney can petition the court to initiate the process of early termination.

Luckily my current agent is open to the idea of early termination, but since I'm not on minimum security and I need to be on minimum security for at least 6 months in order to meet DOC guidelines for early termination. It is frustrating because the only reason I've been categorized as medium security has nothing to do with my actual compliance or not paying my fees but me changing my address too frequently has caused their actuarial risk assessment algorithm to classify me as having "housing instability" from my address changing when those addresses were places like rehabs, treatment centers, and sober livings which are places designed for short term stay.

My agent informed me that it has nothing to do with what he thinks its simply an aggregation of all the data on my file and some proprietary actuarial risk assessment algorithm classified me as medium security and also suffering from "housing instability." I'm extremely upset that some black-box algorithm is deciding with zero nuance that the frequency of my addresses changing is cause enough to hold me back from having early termination at the 50% mark.

My agent won't do anything about it and I'm pretty sure contacting a supervisor will also accomplish nothing but piss off my agent and perhaps bring 75% early termination off the table as well.

My respect for probation officers is in the gutter after learning that there's zero room for human discretion and they simply follow their actuarial risk assessment as absolute law.

Is there anything I'm missing? I'm also sure bringing it up again and insisting his actuarial risk assessment score is lacking nuance and isnt taking into account my address changes were necessary (EDIT) would accomplish nothing as well.

I built a free dashboard that tracks Dane County Jail bookings/trends nightly (open source) — Jail IQ

Been working on this as a side project for a while — an automated pipeline that scrapes the Dane County Sheriff's public jail roster every night and turns it into an actual analytics dashboard instead of just a static list.

What it does:

Tracks daily population trends (felony/misdemeanor/civil breakdowns) over time

Shows booking/release turnover day-to-day

Breaks down top charges and length-of-stay stats

Profiles arresting agencies (who's bringing in the most bookings, severity mix)

Lets you search/filter the current roster by charge, agency, severity

It's fully automated — runs nightly via GitHub Actions, no manual updates needed. Everything's built from Dane County's own public roster data, nothing scraped that isn't already publicly viewable on their site.

Dashboard: https://dane-jailauto-aebxsljxtnzfrgdskvuxoz.streamlit.app/

Code: https://github.com/bbrotwurst-tech/Dane-jail\_auto

Built this mostly out of interest in making local public records more accessible/searchable than the county's own site allows. Feedback, bug reports, or feature ideas welcome — still actively improving it.

M.O.T.A.A is back on the U.S. Senate Floor

**One pharmacy on nearly every corner. One methadone clinic for every 96 in Wisconsin.**

Methadone for opioid use disorder can currently only be dispensed through federally licensed Opioid Treatment Programs (OTPs) — not regular pharmacies. The Modernizing Opioid Treatment Access Act (MOTAA) would change that. Here's the access gap it's trying to close:

| Location | Retail Pharmacies | OTPs (methadone clinics) | Ratio |

|---|---:|---:|---:|

| Wisconsin | ~2,399 | 25 | 96 : 1 |

| United States | ~60,000 | 2,308 | 26 : 1 |

A few things worth noting from the underlying data (SAMHSA's 2024 National Survey of Substance Use Treatment Services):

- Of Wisconsin's 473 behavioral health/SUD facilities, only 25 are licensed OTPs.

- 101 WI facilities offer *some* opioid maintenance medication — but that's mostly buprenorphine through office-based prescribers, not methadone, since methadone is OTP-only by federal rule.

- OTPs cluster in Madison, Milwaukee, and a few other metros, while daily-dosing requirements make a 50+ mile drive to the nearest clinic a non-starter for a lot of rural patients.

MOTAA wouldn't replace OTPs — it would let methadone move through pharmacy infrastructure that already exists almost everywhere.

*Pharmacy counts are directional estimates from a business directory (Dec 2025); OTP counts are from SAMHSA N-SUMHSS 2024 public use file.*

I really miss drugs

Im sober and I have 973 days to go on probation. I haven't found work yet and I'm at a treatment center. I'm hoping my attitude will turn around once im finally employed, but I really would enjoy either going back to methadone (which i could probably get away with with a script) or using something else that i have a history with.

I miss both of them dearly because I'm a drug addict. The other thing I could use never shows up on drug tests but addiction to it will most certainly become visible quite quickly. I'm on sublocade rn and it doesn't feel nearly as good as being on methadone did.

I'm struggling hard rn. Could use some encouragement. I know I fucked up to be on probation but this really is hard for me. I'm still clean as of right now but idk if I can maintain this for 973 more days.

1,000 days of probation left!

Started at 1,091 days of probation. Its not much but its something!

So far very easy. No drug use nor alcohol use. Its a lot more fun to not be in jail and be sober than to be in jail and be sober anyways.

My dog has less than a month to live

My dog has cancer and is dying at 14 years old. He's been with me since my childhood. I'm devastated. How to move on?

He was the goodest boy.

I love him with all my heart.
