Shout out to the pit crowd last night

My girlfriend and I were in the pit right behind the barricade and she wasn’t feeling well throughout the show. Period cramps and whatnot. She had to kneel down when they’d hit, and everyone around us kept making sure she was okay. People were offering water, hair ties, fans etc.

You people are fucking awesome.

Accidentally contributed to rollover IRA instead of Roth IRA

I have a rollover IRA in preparation of a potential rollover from a previous employer’s 401k. I’ve recently been weighing whether or not to fund the rollover the $7500 max for a while. I finally decided to do so, but didn’t realize I could’ve just opened a separate Roth IRA.

Is my only option here to do a conversion and take the tax hit?

Is dividend investing / income investing ever more profitable long term as opposed to straight growth?

Is there any scenario where income investing or dividend growth investing over the long term (20-25 years) is more profitable? I have around $85,000 in 2 401(k)s and an IRA, and I have this itch to switch to straight dividend investing, change my contributions, and let DRIP do its thing for the next 20-25 years.

I can’t help but think the snowball effect would be pretty sizable by then, especially if it’s untouched AND contributed to over that timeframe.

I’m currently 70/30 FZROX/FZILX in a Roth 401(k) as well as an IRA, with a considerable amount in private company stock in a previous employer’s 401(k).

With my timeframe, is pure growth really the best option?

Considering a 3 fund IRA

Currently have $65,000 with a previous employer’s 401k. Have a current Roth 401k allocated to 100% growth. (FZROX/FZILX). Opened an IRA and already maxed out for 2026. Looking to rollover the $65,000 and split 3 ways between QQQI, SPYI, and SCHD and not touching it for maybe 20-25 years, and of course reinvesting all dividends.

Curious on the community’s thoughts.

What percentage of my portfolio should be SCHD?

Currently 70/30 FZROX/FZILX in Roth 401k as well as a rollover IRA. Very interested in adding SCHD to one or both of my accounts. I’m 34, don’t make a ton of money ($50,000 gross annually). Currently contribute 15% to Roth 401k.

Anyone else here of a similar age? Curious as to your percentage of SCHD in your retirement portfolio.

Does this assembly include the actual LED panel and everything needed for a replacement?

Need to replace on my 7.5. This should be all I need for a simple swap right?

Go all in and not touch until retirement?

I’m 34. Currently have $67,000 in an old employer’s 401k, and an additional $20,000 between my current employer’s 401k and an IRA.

SCHD is looking mighty fine lately, and I want to roll everything into it and let it ride for 25 years or so, while continuing to contribute every dollar I can via my 401k and match.

Is this crazy? Am I insane? I don’t know man, but like I said, SCHD is looking quite enticing. This thing seems fucking invincible. You’d be hard pressed to find a red day.

What’re the community’s thoughts?

Where’d my penny go?

I deposited $7,500 into my IRA, used the full amount to buy some mutual funds, but it only shows $7,499.99. I’m not really hung up on one penny obviously, but I’m curious where it went. Anyone ever see this?

Brokerage Link Roth employer match

Why isn’t my Roth 401k employer match being deposited into Brokerage Link Roth? I have my contributions going to Brokerage Link Roth, but the match portion isn’t being deposited there. I was under the impression the Secure 2.0 act allowed employers matches to be Roth. Am I mistaken?

$2,300 worth of work: decent price?

Went to a dealer in south FL for an oil change and they found a leaking trans at the axle. Lost a bit of DSG fluid. They also found everyone’s favorite: leaking water pump! They recommended a carbon cleaning via walnut blast which made sense since they already had the manifold off.

All in all, I had the oil change, DSG fluid exchange, thermostat housing, carbon cleaning, and the axle seal fixed all in for $2,300. Water pump was under warranty.

Curious on the community’s thoughts on price.

Using dividends *AS* the growth

$100,000 into QQQI/SPYI, or a mix of different covered call ETFs, contributing a minimum of $150 per week in perpetuity, likely to increase contributions at a later date, DRIP every cent of dividends, not touching ANY of it for at least 20-25 years.

I fail to see how any “growth” ETF or strategy beats this. The snowballing should be rapid and massive.

Revisiting my hypothetical QQQI $73,500 play

Okay, so I used dripcalc, and adjusted share price growth and dividend growth down to 1% each, investing $150 weekly and DRIPping. It defaulted to 2.74% and 5.55% respectively. So even with rounding WAY down, and being ultra conservative with the numbers, it shows an estimated $4.3 million at year 25.

Again I ask: what am I missing?!

Dumping $75k into QQQI and not touching it for 25 years

I have around $75,000 ready to dump into QQQI, let it DRIP, and not touch any of it for maybe 25 years, all while contributing roughly $150 weekly into it for those 25 years.

Is this insane? Am I missing something? The return from DRIPping the dividends alone would return a hefty chunk of change, no?
