Hyderabad to Delhi road trip advice

Road trip - Hyderabad to Gurgaon with a dog

I'm relocating to Gurgaon from Hyderabad for work. I have a dog who cannot be carried in cabin. The plan is to drive from Hyderabad to Gurgaon over a period of three days. Both me and my spouse drive so we can easily do 7-8 hrs every day. We want to stay overnight at pet friendly Airbnb or Hotels.

The route suggested by gemini is below. I have never done this sort of road trip in North of India, so looking for critique and suggestions

Day 1: Financial District, Hyderabad to Nagpur

Distance / Driving Time: \~500 km | 7.5 to 8.5 hours

Day 2: Nagpur to Sagar (Madhya Pradesh)

Distance / Driving Time: \~450 km | 7.5 to 8.5 hours

Day 3: Sagar to Sector 66, Gurugram

Distance / Driving Time: \~550 km | 9 to 10 hours

Road trip - Hyderabad to Gurgaon with a dog

I'm relocating to Gurgaon from Hyderabad for work. I have a dog who cannot be carried in cabin. The plan is to drive from Hyderabad to Gurgaon over a period of three days. Both me and my spouse drive so we can easily do 7-8 hrs every day. We want to stay overnight at pet friendly Airbnb or resorts.

The route suggested by gemini is below. I have never done this sort of road trip in North of India, so looking for critique and suggestions

Day 1: Financial District, Hyderabad to Nagpur

Distance / Driving Time: ~500 km | 7.5 to 8.5 hours

Route Details: You will exit Hyderabad and head north on NH 44 past Kamareddy, Nizamabad, and Adilabad. The Telangana stretch of this highway is exceptionally well-maintained and smooth. As you approach the Maharashtra border near Hinganghat, expect some minor traffic and occasional rough patches, but the road opens up beautifully again into a multi-lane highway leading into Nagpur.

Pet-Friendly Overnight Options in Nagpur:

Le Méridien Nagpur: A highly rated premium property right on the edge of the city (convenient to access without getting tangled in city center traffic) that offers pet-friendly rooms and excellent amenities.

Hotel Sunrise N Resorts: A comfortable mid-range resort style setup on the outskirts featuring open areas that are easier for walking a dog after a long day in the car.

Day 2: Nagpur to Sagar (Madhya Pradesh)

Distance / Driving Time: ~450 km | 7.5 to 8.5 hours

Route Details: The most efficient and scenic route follows NH 44 north from Nagpur via Seoni and Narsinghpur, which cuts right through the beautiful, lush canopy of the Pench Tiger Reserve region. This stretch is an absolute pleasure to drive. The road drops down into Narsinghpur and continues smoothly up to Sagar.

Pet-Friendly Overnight Options in Sagar:

Kaanha Water Park and Resort (Jhansi Road, Sagar): Located conveniently near the highway bypass, this property offers spacious resort-style layouts with open lawns, making it much more accommodating for travelers with pets than packed downtown commercial hotels.

Alternative nearby option: If you choose to push an extra hour north to Orchha / Jhansi (~130 km past Sagar) to make Day 3 shorter, the Orchha Club and Resort (OCR) or Bundeli Farm Resort are fantastic, highly rated pet-friendly properties with ample greenery.

Day 3: Sagar to Sector 66, Gurugram

Distance / Driving Time: ~550 km | 9 to 10 hours

Route Details: You will continue north on NH 44 through Lalitpur and Jhansi towards Gwalior. The Jhansi-Gwalior patch can occasionally have local diversions and heavier truck traffic, so keep an alert eye out. From Gwalior, head towards Agra. Once you cross Agra, skip the congested local routes and take the Yamuna Expressway (or the Western Peripheral Expressway/KMP depending on real-time traffic updates) to glide smoothly into Sohna Road / Sector 66, Gurugram.

My friend Oreo is up for adoption!

Oreo is a 3-4 year old female neutered indie based in Hyderabad. She is a Queen, friendly social and very loving. She has been meeting me at my bus stop every morning for at least a year.

A few weeks ago I discovered her with a grevious injury on her leg. The lady lives in a construction site. I took her to the vet and she stayed with me for a week till her stitches healed. But I already have a dog boy (another indie rescue) and it was becoming very difficult to look after both of them, so she is currently at a shelter where I am paying for her upkeep.

I know she deserves more. During this entire process where she was picked up, poked at at the vet, fed, handled, put in the car, brought out from the car - there was never a word of complaint from her. She never bit anyone, just kept licking my arms when she could. I cried for three days straight after dropping her at the shelter because damn, she has wormed her way into my heart. Everyone at work asked me what had happened because my eyes were swollen like balloons.

To add to this, I have been transferred out of Hyderabad. I am devastated that I won't be able to see her easily anymore.

Her honey coloured eyes, long legs and her sweet gait, her carefree friendly and curious attitude will make her a perfect companion for a family who is looking for a mature dog.

We are based in Hyderabad. Im happy to bring her out to see you within the city if you want. Please help me find her a good home.

Indie for adoption in Hyderabad

This is Oreo. She is an indie, neutered streetie who is currently recovering from a leg injury. I have known her for over a year now and she is a lovely, loving, social, friendly dog. She loves people and is very curious and open. Looking for a permanent home for her to give her all the love and attention. She could return to the streets - but the area she used to be in is getting built up and I fear it won't be friendly to her in a few months.

I wish I could keep her, but I already have a dog and my current lifestage prevents me from getting another one.

Please help Oreo find a home she deserves!

Looking for a permanent home for Oreo

My sweet girl Oreo is a female, neutered stray Indie. She is extremely friendly and social, very accepting towards everyone. Oreo has been my friend for the last 1 year as she used to wait for me at the bus stop every day when I would go to work. She plays on the street and is generally happy and social towards everyone. She has beautiful honey coloured eyes which shine when she sees someone she likes. She's generally wagging her tail, happy and pleased with the world around her. She wants very very little.

The area we stay in is getting built up - in one year the spaces she would roam around in have become construction sites.

This week, I found Oreo with a grevious cut on her hind leg, which required sutures. It was only her resilience which aided her survival.

I'm looking after her till her wound heals and she recovers. However given the changing landscape around us, I'm not sure if she would survive the streets again.

I'm looking for someone to adopt her. Please DM me and I'll be happy to share more information about this beautiful girl.

Edited to add : I already have another indie at home and my current lifestage makes it difficult to keep her.

How to take care of poo/pee of an immobilised dog.

Meet Oreo. She is a stray dog who I meet everyday when I go to work and come back from work. Yesterday I saw her hind legs coated with blood and took her to an emergency veterinary hospital. She had an extremely laceration in her left hind leg. She got some sutures. I brought her home and am currently looking after her till her stitches are healed

I will try to also find someone to adopt her, but frankly chances are slim.

Please note, I'm not in the US, I'm in a country where street dogs are reviled and people prefer to buy breed dogs but not adopt Indian pariah dogs who typically roam on the streets. I already have a dog and my current lifestage makes it difficult for me to keep her.

Now on to the question

She is currently unable to move much, just crawls around in the room. I picked her up and took her to the balcony to make her pee, she didn't do it willing but when I pressed her tummy a bit she involuntarily peed. When I picked her up again, she involuntarily peed again. I feel terrible and horrible that she has been holding in all this pee for hours and hours. I am now going to take her to pee every few hours.

On to the poo problem. She cannot stand up. She refuses to eat, she has only had a handful of kibble and half a boiled egg since the morning. She hasn't pooed even once but I have definitely smelled some farts. I don't know how to make her poo.

Any suggestions, directions will be welcome.

Edited to add as I cannot reply to the commentators : She is now alert and responsive, wags her tail when I or my spouse enter the room. When I sit next to her, she also puts her snout on my hands and licks my hands. She is unable to stand up but she has dragged herself places within the room and she sits up straight for a short period of time every now and then.

Tasmania or Uluru in June?

My husband and I are visiting Australia in the last two weeks of June (fingers crossed the visa comes through). We are not very fit but not sedentary either and enjoy outdoors, hiking, beaches/water and wildlife.

I am torn between visiting Uluru and going to Tasmania. I am not keen on staying in Sydney for long (just want to have some delish food). Realistically we can only explore 2-3 things and that's the plan. The top experiences I would have liked to have included - 1) Uluru 2) Southern Lights 3) Great barrier reef.

The more I am trying to make everything work together, the more it is falling apart due to cost and time. Turning to the wisdom of this group - is there anything you would recommend we do to accommodate all three? Would you recommend one over another between these three experiences?

Edit - I am flying into Sydney and mostly flying out of Melbourne. I can also fly out of cairns.

Edit - Thank you everyone for your inputs. With your comments and a nifty bit of google I have almost made up my mind to go to Uluru and maybe maybe skip Hobart. Only thing/context I'd like to add is I'm coming from a country whose currency has deeply depreciated against the dollar hence I want to further every dollar as much as I can. I can afford to be lavish but I am a very budget conscious person. Do drop in any budget hacks!
