Industry Question...

Everything I know about Hollywood agents comes from Entourage, but I have a question.

Danielle said, on the most recent podcast, that she moved on from Judy Savage after BMW, because she was mostly a child star agent.

However, does Judy Savage get commission from Girl Meets World, because it's the same character or is it a new show and new network so it's a different deal?

What do we think?

Late Night Sports Bar Recs?

I always go to N. Myrtle for Labor Day week for my yearly vacation, which means I'm always there when the NFL kicks off on Thursday night.

Does anyone know of a sports bar in N. Myrtle, with good food, that's open late enough to watch the whole game?

I don't drink at all, so I don't care about beer or alcohol selection.

I just want good food, attentive and friendly bartenders, and for them to be open late enough to enjoy the first NFL game of the season.

I've driven to Dagwoods in Surfside before, but that's a long drive. Last year I discovered Backyard Sports Bar, but I thought the food was only OK and the bartenders mostly ignored me. (A common occurrence for me because I'm not drinking alcohol).

Obviously, I know about Hooters and Twin Peaks. I'm hoping for a something a little different. Maybe even local.

I appreciate any help.

Spider-Man Brand New Day Required Movies?

The Spider-Man Brand New Day release has snuck up on me. I've got tickets to see it tomorrow.

Without spoilers please, does anyone know of any movies that I absolutely need to see before tomorrow?

I've avoided all trailers. I try really hard not to watch trailers anymore if I know I'm watching the movie.

I've seen allcof of the MCU movies through Phase 3, and I've seen all the Spider-Man movies.

I've watched a season and a half of the Netflix Daredevil. I know Punisher is showing up in Spider-Man Brand New Day, but that's really all I know.

Any help us appreciated, and please no spoilers if you know any. I really appreciate it.

I Have a Recommend A Book "Am I The AHole" Question...

I have a personal pet peeve, when I scroll through the Recommend A Book Reddit threads (also applies to recommending a movie or anything else), and I wanted to ask if I'm on the wrong side of history.

I personally find it annoying and unhelpful when someone asks for a recommendation and one Redditor recommends 10 or 20 books.

I always question, are these really all great recommendations, do they all fit what the OP was asking for, do you really feel strongly about all of these?

I'm not the most diverse reader, so I can't dispute a giant list of 20 books, but, when I see it done with movies, it's generally a long list of OK to not great movies. It feels like the person recommending has no filter to filter out good books/movies as opposed to just what they've read and seen.

If I was asking for a recommendation, and someone listed a giant list of books, I think I'd ignore their list.

Does this speak to anyone else, or am I completely wrong here?

Better App Than Audible?

I'm sorry if this is a little bit of a different question. I hope it's still allowed.

Can anyone recommend a cheaper audio books app that's cheaper than Audible but still reliable?

Any help is appreciated. Thank you.

Weird Obscure Request, Please.

I'm looking for an old 90s spring break movie. It's scripted low budget movie. There were 2 guys going to spring break and recruited by a woman to find a specific cheerleader.

They meet 2 girls and one of them is a dancer who does a dance on stage in a jello bath.

I'm pretty sure it's 90s straight to video or Cinemax.

I Struggle With SW Books. Am I Alone?

I'm a very slow reader, so I try to be very choosy about what I read.

If I'm really into a book, I can realistically read it in a month. If I'm struggling, it will take me 2-3 months.

Unfortunately, I've given up on Star Wars books, because they don't hold my attention and they take me longer to read then real world books.

Maybe I'm only choosing the wrong ones, or maybe I'm just a SW movie person, and that's OK, or maybe I don't read enough to immerse myself in the world.

Hearing you guys talk about them makes me think I'm broken, or not a big enough SW fan. (I've been a SW fan since the 80s, and before it was cool. The OG trilogy is still my favorite.)

Has anyone else given up?

Off the top of my head, I've Read (In No Particular Order)

-Death Star

-Millinum Falcon

-Shadows of Mindor

-Tarkin

-Shadows of the Empire

-Darth Bane Trilogy

I'm Just Starting Season 5

I'm working my way through Silicon Valley for the first time.

It's very funny, even though some storylines weren't my favorite, I'm still very much enjoying it.

However, the Gavin Belson penis signature on the Box 3, is probably the funniest thing I've ever seen on TV.

Are Most of These "Requests" Supposed To Be A Joke?

This is a serious question.

I feel like 50% of the requests are,

"Recommend me a book that feels like a spring night in October on a snowy mountain top while the ocean laps at the seashell covered red Mars sand.

Or

"Recommend me a book that makes me feel like im at my first rock concert 1 day before my 21st birthday in 1989 as school is about to get out for thevyear."

I'm New...

So, after watching Kumail Nanjiani on Taskmaster, and seeing how funny he is, I finally decided to give Silicon Valley a try.

I've now watched 3 episodes, and it's really good.

I was way wrong about what this show was. I've apparently never seen any advertisement for this show. I truly always thought that Silicon Valley was Suits but in the business world.

(I also just watched Suits for the first time last year.)

Now, I'm mad I've been missing out, but excited to watch this show for the first time.
