[Unserious Question] Can I change my surname to a completely new, unrelated name just because I want to?

Hi, so basically this is just a sudden thought that, is it possible to change your surname to a new one, like to create your own surname and use that surname moving forward without having any historical or patrilineal or matrilineal heritage of the surname? I know that you could change your name to correct it, to allow for errors to be corrected and for other issues like separation and stuff. But in the context of changing one's name, can you change your surname to a completely new one just because you want to and not because of a need? Initially, this thought stems from the fact that there were some people in the past who bought names, majority of which are of Chinese heritage in the past. Despite having no relation to the said name owner. However, in this current age where such practices are very uncommon, is it still possible to change your name legally to a name completely unrelated just because you desire it and not because of any need to do so, not to evade any criminal liability or to hide from society, but just because you want to use that surname moving forward? It's just a curious thought of mine, especially since I'm just bored, but if anyone could shed light into the matter, that would be very helpful. Thank you.

NAMA Perks as a SHS graduate?

Hi, I'll be graduating from senior high school in a month, and recently, the school released an updated statement regarding graduation fees. I'd like to ask if the NAMA application / ID fee is really that great, I guess. I've just finished senior high school in Mapua, and not the actual baccalaureate yet, so I'm not really sure if the benefits it would give are substantial enough to justify the mandatory NAMA fee. I love the school, but sometimes I don't want to be involved since I'm going to a bigger school now. But regardless, what does NAMA do for me as a senior high graduate? I'm not really sure if it would benefit me in networking and stuff since I'm just a senior high school graduate and not really a college graduate. So that's a confusing part. Is it just for status or what? Or does it have actual benefits?

Greetings in the name of Youth!

Hahhaha Hi po. I'm an incoming ECE freshman po sa UPD this upcoming school year. I have a number of questions lang po regarding things to expect (and not to) this school year. Marami-rami nga lang so please bear with me or ignore nalang if masyadong mahaba hehe.

  1. For ECE students, how do the courses in EEE differ from subjects in senior high?
  2. How is the academic load po for the first year? Is it like maraming activities pero di gaanong complicated, or few lang pero ang bigat ng gagawin?
  3. For ECE, are the orgs ng dept ay controversial like the other ones na nai-issue na may internal kagaguhan or wholesome lang naman? If so, anong orgs po recommended salihan as a first year na nangangapa palang sa mga bagay bagay?
  4. Will I be ostracized if hindi ako super activism sa mga social issues? As much as I want to join the causes na relevant naman talaga sa lipunan, my family (lahat ng sides) ay ayaw kahit yung simpleng pag-protest sa loob ng uni, at ayoko naman maging cause ng worry lalo na't valid naman yung concerns nila sa safety and well-being ko. I've heard na parang may bias is malaman na super inactive ka sa mga acts of protests.
  5. Anong GEs po yung recommended na i-take as a freshie na may prio pa sa enlistment? And necessary ba i-follow strictly yung curriculum ng program, like can I allocate a sem for all mga GEs (super impossible) without having any major subs?
  6. May archery pa rin po ba na PE? If so, yung equipment po ba is provided or do we have to buy our own?
  7. Ano po ginagawa ng USG within campus?

Like I see them in student led protests and stuff pero anong services ba yung regularly ginagawa nila and how can we acquire these if ever.
8. Are orgs important? Like in terms of job security after graduation may orgs po ba na notorious sa nepotism ng members? HAHAHAHA if so, ano po most effective? And may home org po ba ece? Like sa ie may ie club, or sa ee rin sila under?
9. May dispenser po ba sa campus or water fountains or sari-sariling uhaw?
10. Yung libraries po ba exclusive sa college na yun or any student naman ng any dept? If so, ano best library in terms of lamig, WiFi, and coffee if ever (like yung sa urban planning pero anlayo sa eeei eh)
11. Pwede ba mag summer class like para sa mga ge na trip mo and others or di masyado pwede?
12. Malakas po ba WiFi sa campus? Saan po dead zones ng WiFi and phone signals? At anong telco pinakamabilis sa anywhere sa campus?
13. As someone from ncr sa north, what is the likelihood of getting approved sa in campus dorms? And may safety concerns po ba regarding mga gamit and stuff?
14. May late po ba?
15. May excuse letter pa bang kailangan?
16. Masaya po ba sa pep squad and ano reqs para sumali?
17. Anong shop nagtitinda ng UP merch other than upbeat? Medyo di affordable and upbeat slightly and mukhang burgis eh want ko lang naman ng sablay lanyard, shirt and jacket tsaka tote tas Ang mahal 😭😭
18. Magastos po ba ece? Like sa mga hardware na ipapabili and stuff?
19. Anong orgs maganda and wholesome lang vibes na walang sa allegations hazing allegations and kanegahan?
20. May school supplies pa bang kailangan or digital digital na? Like ik yellow pad pens index card tas 1x1 2x2 pero may iba pa bang kailangan?
21. Anong review pwedeng gawin during bakasyon para maprepare sa maths?
22. Isusugal ko po ba yung kaluluwa ko para maka grad?
23. Chance po na madelay?
24. May off limits po ba other than labs, offices, and ginagamit na classrooms?
25. Toxic po ba mga isko? Like may superiority complex?
26. Success rate ng mag qa from ece to econ (try lang)
27. Ece sa up to upm med palag po ba or need pre med courses talaga?
28. Likewise, ece sa up to up law palag po ba or soc sci courses talaga?

Thank youu!!!! 🌻✨✨✨🫶🏼

Hi, super quick question. Um, unfortunately, medyo mababa yung grades ko for grade 12. Kasi may nakalimutan akong ipasang performance task na initially akala ko napasa ko na. Pero pasado naman ako sa UP Diliman for the first priority degree. Pero I'm just wondering, will my grades in grade 12 matter when it comes to the enrollment process? Like, do they defer the enrollment once they see the grades? Like, ah, I'm so, so scared because UP is UP, and UP is UP. If I mess this up, like, I don't want to stay at Mapua. Like, oh, I'm already at UP then I'm gonna go down back to Mapua. It's such a downgrade and di kaya tuition so medyo erm na status
