a6700 for macro…
Hi everyone,
I’m looking to get into macro photography and currently shoot with a Sony A6400. I’ve got a Sony 90mm f/2.8 Macro lens on the way and can’t wait to start using it.
I’m considering part-exchanging my A6400 and upgrading to an A6700, mainly because of the focus bracketing feature. Over the last few weeks I’ve been watching a lot of macro photography videos covering focus stacking and the various software options available. Some of the most impressive results seem to come from cameras with built-in focus bracketing. Which has me wondering whether the upgrade would be worthwhile.
For those shooting macro with an A6400, how difficult is it to achieve good results without in-camera focus bracketing? What techniques or workflows do you use for focus stacking? I’ll mainly be photographing insects and fungi, so depth of field will often be a challenge.
I’d also appreciate any recommendations for flashes and diffusers that work well with the A6400/A6700 and the Sony 90mm macro lens.
Thanks in advance for any advice!
