For a sport that is so beautiful and at the end of the day is a mix of moves on blades on frozen water, the biggest story/stories from the Olympics always come from here (for better or worse, depends on the day).

For me, the 2002 judging scandal is the one that takes the cake. Specifically because someone ACTUALLY came forward with the truth to make things right

Happy 31st to Gracie Gold!

The one who got me into skating way back when in Sochi. Always loved her costumes and enjoyed every second of her book. I hope she knows how much we all appreciate her :)

I'm bored, what is your biggest hot take/unpopular opinion?

For me, mine is quite basic in that Sasha did not give a gold worthy performance in Beijing, as much as I love her I was shocked she was in silver medal position tbh

I want takes that will have me like the images above lmao

I'm bored, what are some costumes / programs you DESPISE?

Could be just the costume, the program content, the program's story, or all of the above.

Me personally, I did not care for Valieva's Truman program due to messaging (the adults in the situation twisting the narrative away from accountability), Ilia's A Voice costume and program (just didn't speak to me in comparison to programs like Succession and I'm Not a Vampire), Zagitova's Carmen costume just didn't speak to me like Phantom of the Opera and Scheherazade, and the Aboriginal costume for obvious reasons.

What are some of y'alls favorite costumes

Program content aside, just talking about outfits. I included SOME but not all of my favorites

Also, why were Alexandra's dresses so much better under Plushenko? imo her Romeo and Juliet program is the best she has ever looked

ACT Red Book (2026-2027 Edition) Error

I took practice test one and noticed an inconsistency.

On question 43/50 on the English section (page 54), the answer choices are listed as A,B,C, or D. However, whilst self-scoring through the explanatory answers section, the answer choices are listed as F,G,H, or J (page 127).

Did anyone else notice this?

Do you think we'll ever see another pre-Olympic bid like 2021/2022?

In light of the hype of Milano Cortina and the Russians being allowed back to competition, do you think we'll ever see such steep competition again? These girls were EVERYWHERE. The field to go to Beijing was deep (and very chaotic from start to finish), just curious to hear your guys' thoughts looking forward. If you could've picked the Beijing trio, would you have changed anything?

Edit: I bet I missed some people in the pictures, these are just skaters I thought of / costumes and programs I enjoyed

Practice question banks / resources

Currently prepping using the red book and the PrepPros book. Are there any online resources for practice questions? The red book comes with an online test bank, but I'm not looking to use those up too quickly. TIA

Favorite "forgotten" junior / senior skaters?

One of my favorite topics in sports / in general, the "wonder kids" or "next best thing(s)" that didn't quite get there. It's very interesting to see the rotating door of champions and favorites, and how that changes so quickly sometimes, specifically in certain jurisdictions and federations.

Please note: No hate/negativity intended with the use of the word "forgotten"

Shadowing in ITA

Hi everyone,

I am a non-EU resident who is going to be living in Italy for a few months. I'm more familiar with the North American way of medical education, so I was wondering if shadowing doctors is a possibility and if so, how would I got about this? Is it only open to current students?

Can anyone share a good example of how to list ECs?

I have my list together with positions/descriptions, but want to make sure I present them in the best way possible. Does anyone have any tips/templates for how to do this? Good luck to everyone applying and congrats to everyone from this past cycle!

What colleges send transfers acceptance packages?

Got some mail from some places during my hs cycle and cc cycle, also some schools (selective or not) sent nothing. Just wondering if anyone here who transferred T25 / T10 / HYPSM got anything fun as a result.

Listing personal art project on app?

I designed a fashion line inspired by different aspects of the medical field. (Think campy/avant garde) Did this just for fun to have some kind of fun during school but was wondering if I should include it in my app. In my view it blends both my career interests and an ec I'm involved in. Any input would be appreciated, good luck to everyone applying! Love this sub!

Attending Lombardia Trophy

I'll be in the area for the Lombardia Trophy and would like to look into going. Has anyone here gone or know any details about attending? The ISU website only has the dates and protocols.

What is something you wish you knew or did differently while applying to transfer?

Essentially the title but I am trying to have the best cycle possible. I understand that admissions are not one size fits all but would love to get any advice on really anything related to applying. This sub has been so great to me thus far and I wish everyone reading the best!
