AW3926QW - Initial Review & Impressions
C4 42” → AW3926QW
Just upgraded from an LG OLED C4 42” to the AW3926QW and honestly, I’m extremely happy with it so far.
PC Specs:
GPU: RTX 5090
CPU: Ryzen 9 9950X3D
RAM: 64GB DDR5
Coming from 4K, I was expecting the resolution increase to hit my performance. I usually run DLSS with L preset in games, so I’m still getting a really sharp image while being able to push high FPS. Haven’t noticed much of a dip but my GPU is a power house for it I guess.
HDR has also been a big upgrade in terms of immersion. Coming from the C4, I wasn’t expecting a night and day difference, but I definitely like the ultra-wide ratio and it seems more stable than fiddling with my previous LG OLED TV on PC settings. I’m assuming going from HDMI 2.1 to DP 2.1 80gb is huge.
I’ve also seen a lot of posts about the color banding around the edges, so that was something I was keeping an eye out for. Thankfully, I don’t seem to have it on my panel when looking at solid colors.
Overall, really happy with the upgrade from the C4. I was a little hesitant about moving away from 4K, but for gaming, I’m honestly loving it. Now I’m just waiting for my monitor arm so I can push it farther back on my Secretlab Magnus Pro desk. This is definitely what I’ve been waiting for years and it ticks all boxes: tandem OLED, 5k, UW, 165hz.

Why is my speed capped at 30-40MiB/s?
I have 1 gig...I usually get 85+ before on Torbox when I used JDownloader to download stuff..lately now I'm always getting up to 30-40MiB/s? My CDN was at North East before so I tried Auto but it's the same thing.

AW3926QW DP 2.1 vs HDMI?
Hey all, which port is best to use? I have a 5090 and I’ve always used HDMI 2.1 on my LG C4 displays but those were TVs.

Eras 300 - $329 new
Sonos offering me to get 2x Eras 300 for $329 (edit**each to clarify) new due to a ordering error during the refurbished sale before it sold out. Should I go for the deal? I currently have 2 x gen 1 Symfonisks as surrounds with my Arc + Sub gen 4.

39" 5k2k Ultrawide vs our 16:9 OLED counterparts
I've long been using the C series from LG (42") to cover my PC needs but it seems Ultrawide is finally getting their 39" 5k2k Tandem OLED screen very soon in the US at a good price.
I'm currently using a C4 42" and wondering what are your thoughts and pros/cons of switching from 16:9 to 21:9 Ultrawide particularly for gaming and media when put these side by side? Are there still hacks and stuff needed to run games natively on 21:9 and is the curve really bad for FPS shooters online?

Cheapest way to setup Plex server on Nvidia Shield?
I just need a drive where I can direct stream at home movies / shows through the Shield with Plex. However, I have like a UGREEN NAS DH2300 2-Bay that I can store video files too but not sure if this can have the Plex server? I don't plan to transcode anything for remote playback.

Refurbished Sub Gen 4
I bought a new Arc Ultra from microcenter for $899 during the sale however, decided to go for refurbs on the Sub Gen 4 ($619) and 2 x Eras 300 for rears($329 each) off the official store. Never purchased refurbs before but anything i should be concerned about quality wise?
