I got everyone half way to 60!

I got everyone half way to 60!

I'm doing a solo till 60 run of every class, and I just got 45 on my shaman to bring me to half way by time to 60. What a blast this has been so far! Definitely warrior and rogue are my favorites, and shaman and paladin are not as much fun but still fun.

Everyone is mounted, I have great blue weapons (like executioner's cleaver) from drops mainly, and I've got 3 mooncloth crafters, a blacksmith, an alchemist, and a bunch of engineers.

My eventual goal is to craft an arcanite reaper on my warrior. There are better weapons out there but it's been a goal of mine to make one since 2005.

Do you keep attacking after disconnecting?

My ISP had an outage and I was sure I lost my 44 rogue because I was mid combat when the outage occurred, but somehow, miraculously, an hour later and I'm still alive. I was wondering if you keep attacking after disconnecting or if some kind stranger helped me out.

Do different ranks of target dummies and grenades have different resists?

I was wondering if for example advanced target dummies are less likely to taunt a level 45 monster than a masterwork target dummy, and I was also wondering if an iron grenade has the same chance of being resisted as a thorium grenade.

Evasion actually works pretty damn well against Magtheridon

My group had a great first two phases of Magtheridon, but somehow we lost our tank with the boss at 200k health. I waited till the boss was targeting the last melee above me in threat and cast evasion, so as soon as the other melee died I pulled the boss to the wall and tanked him for the ~10 seconds it took for us to finish him off. Evasion worked much better than I thought it would, because he didn't land a hit on me the whole time. What a rush!

Do paladins normally do much lower dps than warriors?

I have a 44 warrior and a 44 paladin. I usually get about 120-150 dps on the warrior, and about 50-80 dps on the paladin. I was wondering if that's pretty standard or if I might be forgetting to do something. On paladin I have retribution aura and blessing of might, and normally I do seal of command, auto attack, stun, judge command, reapply command. Maybe an iron grenade, too. And on warrior, for single target at least I just sunder, mortal strike and auto attack.

Warrior has an executioner's cleaver, and paladin has a bonechewer.

Is sword spec any good for arms warrior ever in the 40s?

I bought a nightblade for 10g because it was so cheap, and I was thinking of sticking it on my lvl 42 warrior and doing sword spec. Or is it actually worse than doing a blue axe with axe spec? I could go executioner's cleaver when I'm 43, but they're something like 150g on doomhowl right now which would be most of my reserve gold.

How are you earning gold for raiding consumes?

Just curious how everyone is paying for their raiding consumes. I'm a rogue so I buy 4 flasks a week, some health potions, haste potions, and scrolls of agi. Costs about 400 a week, so I do about 10 mana tombs stealth runs to pay for it.

What are some ways to stop being a jerk?

I get really irritable easily, and when I'm irritable I'm a jerk to everyone around me. I'm sick of it, and I know everyone around me is sick of it. But when I say to myself "ok enough is enough" and resolve to change, I still behave the same when irritated.

Doing a solo challenge, but I ran into a quest drought around 42

I decided I was going to do a solo challenge, so no grouping at all. I didn't realize that means I'm sort of out of quests my level before reaching tanaris/hinterlands/feralas; most quests in my log are orange at this point.

Would anyone know of any good grinding spots that feature mobs in the 37-40 range? Most guides recommend rock elementals in badlands, but it's very busy there due to people questing. I liked the tortoises in dustwallow (36-37), but I was hesitant to grind two levels out there because alliance need them for a quest.

Is it overly dramatic to say you're lucky to be alive?

I had sepsis a little while ago, and I usually tell people who ask that I'm lucky to be alive. I want to sound grateful, because I am, but I wonder if it comes across as overly dramatic.

This copper vein is such a troll

I'm not sure it's possible to reach this vein, but even if it is...who put that there.

How is protection paladin for leveling 41+?

I specified 41 because at that level you can talent into both blessing of sanctuary and consecrate, which I'm pretty sure lets you kill 2-3 things at once. I was wondering how this stacks up against leveling as retribution like the guides suggest and killing one thing at a time.

Closing in on the halfway point

I'm basically just leveling one of each class to 60, because when I started hardcore I couldn't decide on a class (I use a /random to determine who I play next). Got my dudes to 40 and all mounted and closing in on the halfway mark! This is as far as I've gotten in hardcore before, and I can't wait to try my luck at 40-60.

Does anyone feel like Shaman is way better late 30s with a shield than with a 2h

All the guides talk about 2h enhance being fast for leveling. I tried two similar level blue weapons, a lvl 35 2h axe and a lvl 33 1h axe with shield. The difference in safety and comfort was staggering. I can comfortably take on 2-3 mobs a few levels below me at level 39 with the 1h + shield (and kill a few in a row without stopping), but with the 2h it seems like a race to the death for both of us, regardless of who I fight. Using rockbiter with the 1h and windfury with the 2h.

With the 2h, every now and then I delete the mob in one glorious triple crit, but most of the time I end up low health and having to heal. Even with rockbiter on the 2h, the shield was way better. Just wondering if that matches all of your experience or if maybe I'm doing it wrong.

Difficult quests that can be made easy

There are a lot of quests out there that are difficult until you read a comment on wowhead from 18 years ago that makes it easy. Here's a few:

King of the Foulweald: horde only quest. You have to fight wave after wave of enraged furbolgs until the chief spawns, except you don't - the quest is on a timer. Get the first two enraged furbolgs to low health so that they are walking slowly, and kite them around the hill where you place the banner for 2-3 minutes until the chief spawns, then finish all 3.

The Sleeper Has Awakened: alliance only quest. You escort a druid to Maestra's Post, encountering two deadly ambushes along the way. However, if you just leave the road and run alongside it, you will avoid both ambushes (especially the one in ashenvale).

Ghost-o-plasm Round Up: Hordes of centaur ghosts are attracted to the magnet you place down. Stand on the hill east of where you place the magnet (the hill without monsters) and pull ONLY neutral centaur ghosts to you, leaving the hostile ghosts alone. This will prevent you from getting swarmed.

The Missing Diplomat (dustwallow): alliance only quest. Normally you have to fight Private Hendel and two guards. But if you pull any hostile npc to the guards before you start the quest and pull them slightly away, they will be distracted and will not turn hostile when you start the quest, allowing you to 1v1 Hendel.

What is a movie's music vocabulary?

I was reading the composer of the score for the movie Black Panther talking about developing the "musical vocabulary" of a film alongside the director. But I'm a little confused by what they mean by vocabulary here. By metaphor that seems to imply that film scores have a language, but what they specifically mean by that is beyond me.

How often does your deck’s centerpiece card swing the match for you?

I noticed this card decides the match right when I play it most of the time. I was curious how it is with other decks, whether your centerpiece card swings the match for you often or whether the power is spread across all your cards more evenly.

Thank you target dummy

I forgot I was a horde warrior - thought I was on my alliance alt, and ran right into alliance alterac valley guards and prospector stonehewer. Dazed immediately and a guaranteed death if not for the advanced target dummy.

And they're not just great defense, they're great for offense too. I can comfortably pull 3-4 even on a rogue if I want to use a dummy (up to 5 with sap).

[Star Trek: Voyager] Why would a superweapon weapon be given sentience and a personality?

In the Voyager episode Warhead (Season 5, episode 25), the crew beams an artificial intelligence on board that turns out to be a sentient superweapon. It takes over the holographic doctor's program and uses it to make demands to the crew to finish its mission - to destroy its enemy. The engineer on board the ship was able to convince the missile that the war for which it was launched was over, and then the missile heroically sacrifices itself by destroying a fleet of similar incoming missiles who refuse to believe that the war is over. and chose to ignore the self-terminate command (actually they were past the fail-safe point, my mistake)

So my question is what reason could anyone have for giving missiles personality and sentience? It seems like a recipe for disaster.

I actually feel much safer with a mount

I got a robe of the magi drop at level 39 and sold it for 30g, so I was able to get a mount at 40! Despite being a rogue, places like badlands are scary without a mount. Now I feel much safer going anywhere outside of town.
