VikSchewa iOS 1.1.0

VikSchewa iOS 1.1.0

2 weeks after launch – only 0.3% conversion rate

I launched my first iOS app about 2 weeks ago and I’m currently working on my first major update.
I recently got Astro for ASO and want to test new keywords, as I suspect my current keyword strategy isn’t great.
My numbers so far:
35,000 impressions → 672 product page views → 69 downloads → 0.3% conversion rate
The conversion rate seems pretty low to me. 😅
Has anyone here had similar numbers when starting out?
If so, what actually helped you improve it — ASO/keywords, screenshots, icon, or positioning?
I’d really appreciate some real-world experience from other indie developers.

2 weeks after launch – 0.3% conversion rate. Any advice?

Hey everyone,
my app has been live for about 2 weeks now. I’m currently working on an update and just started taking ASO more seriously, including getting Astro to test new keywords.
Current numbers:
35k impressions → 672 product page views → 69 downloads → 0.3% conversion rate.
I know that’s pretty low. 😅
For those who have launched an app: did anyone have a similarly low conversion rate in the beginning?
What actually helped you improve it — screenshots, icon, keywords, positioning, etc.?
Not trying to promote the app again, just looking for some real-world advice from other indie devs.

“Self-Promotion.” I built a little app because I don't want to eat only at tourist restaurants when I travel 😅

I know the feeling: You sit down at a small local restaurant, get the menu and think:

“Okay… what does any of this actually say?” 😂

Sometimes the language is unfamiliar. Sometimes you can't even read the script. And once you're away from the tourist areas, English isn't always an option either.

Then there’s the next problem: How much is this actually in my own currency? What's in the dish? Does it fit my diet? And if you have allergies, how do you explain all of that?

That's basically how VikSchewa started.

With VikSchewa, you can:

📸 Translation & ingredients
💱 Prices in your own currency
⚠️ Hidden ingredients & allergens
🎯 A personal 0–100 match
🤖 An AI image of what the dish might look like
🗣️ Help ordering in the local language

My personal favorite feature is the Allergen Pass.

You save your allergies once and can show the restaurant exactly what you need to avoid in their language — in 85 languages and offline.

There are also 536 dishes available offline.

I basically wanted an app that would make me a little less nervous about unfamiliar menus and encourage me to try the small local restaurant around the corner instead of always going somewhere made for tourists.

VikSchewa is still very new, so I'd genuinely love to hear:

What's the thing that annoys you most about eating abroad? 😄
