Help me locate her accent

I'm curious about the way the black actress (Marianne Jean-Baptiste) pronounces her "a" s in the words "stalk" and "call". I read that the actress is British originally so i don't know if that's the reason. I hear her in this show always and it has always made me think where does it come from. I love the way she talks actually and that pronunciation, i kind of find it soothing when i hear it if that makes any sense lol

[TOMT] Afghan movie, a woman in a burqa goes to see a doctor

Hi, i'm back again needing your help and any idea would be very much appreciated.

Years ago, at least 10, i saw a scene from a movie on TV. I think it might've been in the 2000s but i'm not sure. The movie itself might've been made in the 80s/90/early 2000s. I'm not sure. Late 90s probably.

I think it was an Afghan movie because the women all were wearing burqas. That thing they wear that covers all their body and face and everything. They just have little holes in front of their eyes so they can see but you still can't see their eyes. And from the surrounding it seemed like a hot country. I think it was summer. Dirt/sand on the ground.

I don't remember much of what happened but i will try to describe what i remember. One of the women, assuming she was the protagonist, went to a doctor. The doctor was a man and he was behind a curtain ( or a wall?) so couldn't see the women. The curtain had a very small opening for him to look at the parts of their body that needed inspection i assume. He told the woman to come closer and show him her ear. She did and she was wearing blue? earrings. I remember i thought they were beautiful. Woman might've been blonde or having light-coloured hair. I'm really not sure. I remember something blue and i'm not sure if it was the earrings or her eyes. Anyway the women used to come and go in groups. Always wearing those burqas. I think one was a little girl.

That's all i can remember.

Google translate has me thinking i may secretly be a mega polyglot

So i was commenting on a post from my friend and i decided i would just comment some rubbish for fun and we continued replying to each other this way but he was just using some random language from google translate while i kept writing nonsense and later i pasted them in Google Translate. Looks like this "rubbish" makes sense in other language i don't speak. I just thought it's weird. Is this accurate or it's just GT making stuff up? Would love to know.

Without a Trace (2002)

I started watching this series recently and i'm kinda hooked. I like the team dynamic and the characters. I love Viv and Martin and Samantha. Others are good enough as well. The stories are interesting. I love investigations, be it for murder or now it seems even for disappearances as well. I love the early 2000s colour palette. Some stories are quite sad. And what i really love is that they keep the twist (or reveal) for the very end so it's mostly mystery solving.

One thing i can complain about is that in episode 9 the man who they were looking for was said to be of Saudi Arabian descent, which makes him Arab, yet we see in a scene that he and his buddy are speaking Persian. I guess it's expected from a USA series but still kinda annoying if i'm being honest.

Anybody else has seen this series? What did you think about it? Does it get worse or better in the next seasons?

I was watching criminal minds for a long time and i loved it until>!Morgan and Hotch left in season 12!<. After that it became boring for me and couldn't go any further so i started watching this.

[TOMT] movie with bald actor who playd a hitman

I vaguely remember this movie being on TV years ago and i didn't even finish it for whatever reason but i want to find it now just to place the memory.

There was a bald guy as the lead and he was in a house with a teenage kid maybe aged around 15-17 and some guys apparently were coming for them to kill them (maybe?). I think the kid's parents were killed and this tough guy who i think was a hitman or just a guy who was good at fighting and shooting guns was trying to protect him (or maybe he came to kill his family but didn't have the heart to kill the kid too. idk really). He was not a famous actor like for example Jason Statham or Timothy Olyphant so you can rule out any movie with famous actors. He had blue or green eyes. He was in his 40s i think. Not bad looking at all. He might've been in other movies i have seen but i don't remember now.

The movie was probably low budget. It might have been made in 2010-2015. It had that feel to it. It was American. That's all i can remember.

A question that bugs me about Dumfries

Hi,

This will sound very silly (and it is tbh) but i have been reading some about Denzel Dumfries and i got that he has been praising the Premier League for years and saying how much he loves to play over there. My question is how did he end up with us since that's the case? I doubt that nobody, even mid table clubs in PL, never wanted him. He can't be that bad. And i read that he had offered himself to PL teams this summer. Do you guys think he didn't get any other offers except from us? Maybe i'm missing something.

Crab apple seeds

Hello,

Don't know if this is the right sub to ask this question but i read something now and i'm scared.

As long as i can remember i have always eaten crab apples. Those little apples that taste sour and delicious. I think they are the only type of apples that i really like. The little green ones. They taste so good, especially when you add a little salt to them.

Because they are small their seed is actually not hard on the teeth so i sometimes eat them too. I just read that they are actually toxic and not safe to eat. Is this true? Should i be worried??

Sad world

I often get ideas for stories but never write them down because i'm not really interested in writing but sometimes i really wish there was a person that i could give them to and they make it into proper stories to read or be made into movies that i could watch.

I just got this one in my head which is very basic but i wanted to know what others think of it. Could be trash but oh well.

I was thinking about how we always are encouraged to show our happy side and we mostly hide our sorrows and tragedies from people but what if there was a society/qorld where it was the other way around and everyone went about sad and sorrowful and only occasionally mention the rare happy moments they experienced?

I just found iut about this sub so sorry if this post doesn't belong.
