Just for the record, Oda had Gaban say that Luffy was saved by an old man who was INJURED, just like him. So, Gaban really could have done even more against Imu.

Keep in mind that whatever Gaban does against Imu, he could do twice as well if he weren't injured, seeing as he was stabbed by Gunko when he surrendered to save his son.
