few years back yuri was a well enjoyed genre among most dudes.

but enter 'genshin'. a massively popular gacha game during covid. which brought in worst of the worst in gacha fandom.

most yuri now is not cute girls doing cute things with other girls. its linked way too much into identity politics and gatekeeping. and most people don't wanna bother with identity politics, sexual orientation talks in their booby jiggle game.

yuri side of being relatable to lesbians has always existed which is fine. but a lot of people from that side started forcing that relatability on chars and being mad if you don't see the 'sapphic' stuff in game. best example are 'arlecchino fans'. the way they treat her as some butch daddy lesbian just because she wears a suit and see their crazy reaction if you dare to ship her with a man.

plus those yuri fans hate dudes who might like yuri and call them lesbian fetishists. plus the genre of yuri arts in hoyo fandom. people just don't like women who are drawn like men in western yuri. i would say jp yuri side is still chill but its so cooked in en.

like overall the bad kind of yurifans already gatekept the potential yuri lovers by their weird behavior and increased number of people who think that gacha yuri fandom is icky.

its funny how yuri fans see harem fans as biggest enemies but when you see some og harem anime you will see how much yuri the harem genre itself had.

most gacha games communities now which are mainly catered to male fans just don't like the idea of yuri fans coming to their game and ruining its community. even if said yuri fans was a chill yuri fan.

like its so common to see people say that 'they don't want their fandom to end up like hoyo fandom' because of the damage yuri and yaoi shippers did there.

you can see attitude towards yuri in game like wuwa, nikke, ba and even zzz to some extent with how they just want to avoid those sides of fandom.

but let them have a headcanon they are not hurting anyone.

then calling out such headcanons is homophobia apparently.

it was foolish to assume columbina ml came close to what MC have with citlali.

all that columbina ml buildup just to flush it down the drain.

the existence of sandrone is nothing but a yuribait for people who like yuri. lets now ignore everything that mc and columbina had going on.

people can use yuribait for male gaze excuse but whatever i don't see much dudes who like ML are into yuri too.

have you guys noticed how people pushing yuri and yaoi, pushing for censorship of female chars making race swaps, declaring a char misandrist, canon gay/lesbian , sending death threats all are the same most of the time.

you see a yaoi/yuri sharing account and most of the time that account will also be doing other stuff i mentioned above.

probably the biggest yuribait since acheron trailer.

i feel bad for non shipping sandrone fans. and aether fans too. the stuff i am seeing has surpassed the ML moments of columbina as hoyo is way more comfortable for deep dynamics between girls and skinship between girls. while mc is too mute and sfw to get too close.

i enjoy ml but they gotta raise the ml standards tbh, i don't think mc has ever hugged a girl other than paimon lol,

this whole first columbina x aether then columbina x sandrone is hoyo munching off from all groups. at this point they have focused more on columbina and sandrone dynamic than with mc.

also gotta deal with influx of yuri arts when i want to just see only columbina arts solo.

guess a W for 'yuri made for men' crowd.

btw all npcs are straight and we even have had love stories of npcs in events and story missions many times.

btw genshin is not a romance game but if it had romance they think one of the biggest ips of china is gonna make 'queer media'?

its ok to make headcanons and enjoy any types of ships as long as you are chill about them.

but this post is directed to those people who are too deep into shipping and that weird side of hoyo that they think genshin or hoyo is bastion of queer representation and they must hate anything normal to anime/gacha subculture like female chars being flirty to mc or female character fanservice.

usually people pushing for censorship and crazy shippers share a big venn diagram. they always chose some random 1.x less fanservice design character and boast everyone should show less skin. when even 1.x have had some of the sexiest and skin showing designs.

they are even willing to larp how they were enjoyer of 1.x fanservice but suddenly fanservice is tasteless now?

add in yuribait and its peak and best written character ever for them.

i am glad all they can eat up is bait which tbh is not even bait but gotta stoop at their level to call it a bait otherwise they won't understand it.

while there are two canon straight chars in genshin alice and tsaritsa we have 0 lgtv chars including npcs too. hoyo will never make canon gay chars and they didn't use to confirm any relationships but now genshin is adding chars who are in canon straight relationships. a god step. saw a lot of crazy people finally understand that gacha is not something you look for to find 'queer representation'.

good thing i never really liked sandrone to begin with from her first appearance. never liked her design.

even in story she was nothing special other than being a tsundere for columbina.

atleast columbina is good. good design and story and she don't get as diminished by sandbina ship as much as sandrone get diminished.

in so many yuri arts the female character is just a alpha wolf BL man if you just remove her hair 😭.

or either one is super masculine and one is feminine. (inert the toxic yuri trope).

these people hate 'hetslop' so bad but do the most corny straight gimmicks just put on a facade of yuri and yaoi to call it peak.

all the sps in hsr feel so unimaginative. too many similarities to base design.

i know sps mean having similarities with base design but i think hsr is doing it a bit too lazy and too similar.

also i will never forgive them for covering up the big booba lady himeko. himeko all across honkai always have had the big boobs sexy older lady vibe but new himeko sp seems to be toning down that vibe atleast design wise

can't wait for her animations and story. they gonna go hard as 3.0 was really good.

and even if they share similarity? imagine thinking yi xuan is a bad design.
