Anyone else trying out Capt. Shield in brawl?

Anyone else trying out Capt. Shield in brawl?

It's been doing a lot better than I thought it would in my voltron builds, and I already thought it would be a good addition. It's cheap as hell, helps get in extra damage and prevent a lot of it, and is tough for a lot of decks to actually remove. It's easily one of my favorite equipments released so far, and I was just idly wondering if other people are actually trying it out.

Can someone double-check something in ch2 for me?

I have a friend who has been editing their files to give themselves a big DEF boost to get through some of the game's tougher bosses, which I taught them how to do after learning it here

The tweak worked like a charm and let them finally get past Jevil, but now they've hit a roadblock with Spamton Neo, who they say outright ignores the boosted defense entirely. I asked them if they were editing the right value and right file, but didnt push too hard bc I felt like they were getting frustrated. As I was typing this out, they told me they finally beat him legit, but it did make me curious.

I don't have a file that would let me easily get to SpamNeo to check for myself, but if anyone else could double check it to see if he really does ignore 70+ Defense, it would satisfy that part of my curiosity. I'm legit wondering if it has something to do with his unique enrage mechanic or if. Yknow. Friend really did edit the wrong values.

Chapter Concept: A Close Shave

An updated version of a joke killer I made a while ago, but tinkered with slightly to make him a little less of a joke. The original concept was fully a joke; a bald, Slender-Man-esque guy in a barber's outfit whose only "power" was removing cosmetics from survivors he knocked down, based on the logic of "we have Franklins for taking survivor items, Lightborn for taking away blinds, Dominance to take away chests and totems... what else can we take from them?"

Fully just a troll killer. Then I started thinking about the power and personality behind the guy, and that's when I sat down and started writing the original post and putting actual mechanics behind it. The perks I'll still try and keep weak/funny, but I might get accidentally inspired, like I did for the survivor.

He's no barber, I already have one of those and his profession isn't as important as his personality (his whole Deal is being madly in love with the Entity). THIS guy is the opposite; his profession is his personality AND his power, except instead of making people beautiful, he thinks the pinnacle of beauty is being bald. YMMV if he's right; I certainly enjoy a good bald look now and then, but I don't go around shaving people's heads with maniacal obsession.

yes, I DID think about making the killer Freaky Fred from Courage the Cowardly Dog, but ultimately decided "what if a cenobite really wanted to shave you" was a better look.

------

SURVIVOR: Jackson "Axe" Buzzby. A mob tough whose suave and clean-shaven exterior hides a man capable of enough violence to nearly get him chosen as a killer if it weren't for the fact he ran afoul of something worse. Jack the Axe might kill for business, but his favorite stylist--the only guy who ever got his sideburns right-- turned out to be a serial killer who murdered purely for pleasure. Now, the two may have been able to reconcile their differences, but Jack turned down the Stylist's offer to shave him "sparkling clean" one too many times, and smoked in the salon just once too often for the murderer to stand. Despite his years of experience, Jack found himself fighting for his life against the comparatively reedy Stylist, but before either of them could get an edge on the other, the Fog closed in on them both.

PERKS

Smoke Out: Your Fog Vials are especially noxious and potent, addling the senses of the killers caught in them. Whenever you create a fog cloud (such as via Fog Vial, Void Crystal, or similar), the cloud's radius is increased by 4m, it lasts for 1 additional second, and causes killers to suffer from the blindness status effect for 30s after leaving.

Up In Smoke: You know how to disappear into the misty night streets... and if you can't find mist, you can make it. You become completely invisible while inside a fog cloud, and for 3 seconds after leaving it. You leave no scratch marks while invisible.

Smoke Break: If you're going to come back anyways, you may as well smoke 'em if you got 'em. When standing still and idle, you can press the active ability button to pull out a carton of cigarettes and light one up. You smoke for up to 15s, but ending the animation early for any reason grants no bonuses. After smoking the whole cig, you gain a buff for 60s: a 10% action speed increase to solo repairing, blessing or cleansing totems, and opening chests. Thanks to your calmed nerves, you are oblivious while smoking and for the duration of the buff. If you enter chase, the buff and the oblivious are lost immediately. You can only smoke once every 80s. If the killer is standing within 8m while you smoke, you can press the secondary action button to offer them one and light it for them if they accept (they receive no benefits from doing this, but it does make them cool).

------

KILLER: THE STYLIST

115% killer, 32m terror radius, Tall height (Myers height)

Appearance: Skin is smooth and white as a porcelain vase. Empty black holes for eyes, and a big perfectly white grin held in place by tiny hooks. He dresses in a white and black barber outfit (button-up, overalls, bowtie, the works). In one hand, a pair of bloodstained hair shears; in the other, a can of Entity-Brand Depilatory Cream. Aside from his shears, he is perfectly immaculate. His stun animation involves him swiftly, almost reflexively straightening his outfit.

One of many characters to chatter and mumble to himself intelligibly, mostly about how 'tacky' or 'ugly' or 'in need of a professional touch' most survivors are, no matter how fashionable they actually are.

POWER TL;DR: Has a can of cursed shaving foam that can be sprayed like Plague bile. Survivors hit have their screens partially covered, preventing them from easily navigating the trial. He can also spray vault locations to temporarily foam them up; a foamed up vault cannot be fast-vaulted, but the foam clears after 2 vaults. Also, he can swipe people's charms, their head cosmetic, and then their hair as they progress hook stages.

---

Power: Bald is Beautiful: When the power button is held, the Stylist holds up his can of Entity-Brand Depilatory Cream and begins to spray it. The spray is similar in behavior to the Plague's vomit, but it is slightly lighter and thus can be fired slightly further in a looser arc. The can holds 16 charges, and sprays 1.5 charges/second. The spray is a nasty, glowing orange, like the Entity's blight.

A survivor sprayed by the cream coughs and sputters as they're hit, and their screen is gradually covered in cream, starting from the outer edges and swirling inwards. Every charge they're affected by covers approximately 10% of the screen, to a maximum of 70% of the screen until all the survivor can see is their upper body and a small portion of the area in the direction they're looking in. The cream covers UI elements.

Survivors running causes the coverage to automatically decreases by 1% per second as the cream dries and falls away, but a survivor that is standing still can also wipe it off, a special interaction that clears 10% of the cream off every second they spend wiping it away. The cream makes a loud fizzling as it clings to survivors, allowing the killer to track them more easily.

The Stylist can also spray vault locations. If he sprays the equivalent of 5 charges (~3 seconds) onto a vault location, it foams up that location. An audio cue signals the obstacle is foamed up. Survivors cannot fast vault over foamed obstacles; foamed obstacles remain foamed for 40 seconds or until a survivor vaults through them twice. He can spray generators as well, preventing survivors from working on them until they clear the foam away; he can spray up to 10 charges over a generator, and each charge requires 10 seconds to remove. A generator that has been foamed up cannot be foamed again for 40 seconds (signified by an orange tint and the Stylist tutting in annoyance if he tries). This gen denial works similarly to the Bone Chill snowskulls blocking generators.

The Stylist can recharge his can by holding the secondary power button, shaking the can up to refuel it. Each second spent shaking it refreshes 3 charges. The Stylist is slowed by 8% while recharging the can.

Secondary power: Back to Basics. When a survivor is reduced to the dying state, the Stylist can spray them with foam to cover their heads completely and then perform a special give them a trim action using the tertiary power button while standing over them. This action takes 4 seconds to complete and involves the Stylist muttering aloud about all their "gaudy baubles" and "hideous wear," asking them things like "don't you know the beauty of baldness?" or "don't you know the elegance of simplicity?" as he manhandles them and uses his scissors to snip away extraneous details.

The first time in a trial a survivor is downed, Back to Basics removes that survivor's equipped charms. A survivor that has been hooked at least once is instead forcefully reverted to their default head cosmetic. A survivor that has reached their second hook stage has their head shaved completely bald--hair on their head and on their face, gone. Upon completing Back to Basics, he immediately hefts the survivor onto his shoulder for transport.

-----

ADD-ONS

Common

  • Thick Mix: A survivor that's at least 20% foamed gains the blinded condition until they wipe away the cream.
  • Lather Brush: Bald is Beautiful regains an extra 0.3 charges per second when recharging.
  • Lock of Ratty Hair: The Stylist's lunges last 0.5s longer while Bald is Beautiful has no charges.
  • The Last Little Bit: Bald is Beautiful gains 2 extra charges.

Uncommon

  • Bloody Scraps: Survivors wipe away 2% less foam each second.
  • Custom Spats: The Stylist is no longer slowed when recharging Bald is Beautiful.
  • Lock of Soft Hair: The Stylist has a 10% action speed bonus to basic-breaking breaking pallets, walls, and generators while Bald is Beautiful has no charges.
  • New Mix: Foamed up vault locations remain foamed up for 20 extra seconds.
  • Polishing Rag: Each time the Stylist uses Back to Basics, this add-on gets a token. Each token reduces his successful attack cooldown by 2%.

Rare

  • Unnecessarily Powerful Hair Dryer: Slightly increases the velocity the cream flies as it's sprayed, allowing it to travel further and foam up survivors/obstacles in the stream slightly faster.
  • Slick Mix: The Stylist vaults foamed up windows 25% faster, but doing so removes 20s from the timer.
  • Extra-Wide Can: Bald is Beautiful gains 4 additional charges, and gains an additional 0.5 charges per second when recharging.
  • Lock of Beautiful Hair: The Stylist has a 5% Haste bonus while Bald is Beautiful has no charges.
  • Firm-Hair Spray: Foam cannot be removed from survivors for 10s after being applied.

Very Rare

  • Dried Dye Assortment: A survivor that vaults a foamed up obstacle or fully clears a foamed up generator becomes stained for 60 seconds; a stained survivor leaves a bright and colorful trail in their wake even if their scratch marks are hidden. The colorful trail lingers for 10s before fading.
  • Expired Can: Kicking a generator implants it with a shaving cream bomb. When that generator is completed, it detonates, fully foaming all survivors and vault locations within 16m.
  • Mysterious Mix: Foaming up a dropped pallet causes it to become fragile, shattering the next time a survivor vaults it. A fragile pallet glows slightly orange.
  • Lock of Perfect Hair: Reduces the Stylist's terror radius by 16m while Bald is Beautiful has no charges.

Iridescent

  • Banned Chemicals: The cream of Bald is Beautiful becomes a violent red color to signify this add-on is in play. A survivor that becomes fully foamed becomes injured and broken until they're no longer foamed. (Yes, this does turn him into a pseudo-Plague.)
  • Iridescent Keepsake: Upon performing Back to Basics, this add-on gains one token. For each token it possesses, Bald is Beautiful gains 2 extra charge, and regains an extra 1 charge/second when recharging.

------

PERKS

A Little Off The Top: "Just a trim, please."--Francis 'the Fuzz' Fuzelli, final words. Whenever you kick a generator that is above 80% progress, its progress is set to 80 before any damage is done to it. A Little Off The Top can only affect each generator once per trial.

Shave And A Haircut: You search lockers 64% faster (precisely the speed needed to fit 'two bits' perfectly). Whenever you search a locker, any survivor hiding inside a locker is highlighted by killer instinct for 3 seconds. Once this perk has been used, it goes on cooldown for 70 seconds.

Finishing Touches: With a flourish, you stand proudly to survey what few details need tending to. While you are standing inside the Exit Gate area, you see the auras of all survivors, as well as the hatch if it is still open.

------

MORI

The Stylist stands over the survivor and holds his shaving cream can directly in their face. He shotgun blasts that shit all over their head and shoulders to muffle their screams, then whips out a larger, more terrifying pair of shears and a perfectly clean shaving razor and sets to work. The survivor screams in pain and horror as he works before falling limp about eight seconds into the twelve second animation. The Stylist keeps cutting as larger and larger blood sprays fly out of the scene, before finally stepping back and wiping blood off his tools, storing them away as the camera pans down to show the survivor has been shaved all the way down to a comedically clean-polished skull.

Killer Concept: The Avarice

A touch-up of an old concept, now hopefully more balanced.

This one is actually fairly simple. In fact, this killer was born because I saw a comment in the main DBD sub that said only three of the 36 available killers were listed as "easy," so I decided to challenge myself to make one that could also be rated as "easy," with a simple power.

This one was also born because I have a sore lack of female killers in my fanmade roster (I have more genderless nightmare monsters than women). I believe in unhinged lady's rights, and so from that comes the Avarice. I only have a rough grasp on her overall appearance, but I know her left arm has been dramatically altered; her skin is solid gold, but not in a beautiful, elegant way; it's more like she dipped her arm in a molten vat and pulled it back out before it could fully incinerate her. Body horror as Entity thorns and spines jut from below the flesh, the thorns also transmuted into gold. Her body is run through by veins that pulse precious metal throughout her form. Gemstones grow like tumors and warts on her corrupt arm and rarely across her body, including one on the back of her left hand which looks more like an eye than anything else. Her left eye has been completely replaced by a bloody gemstone.

Despite what appears to be a grievous and horrid transformation, she has an air of playfulness in what she does. Her wall-breaking animation is her spinning her hand around before giving the wall a single, gentle poke with a single finger. She gently flicks generators to damage them. Her pallet break animation is grabbing the thing and sinking her fingers into it, letting her power shatter it. About the only thing that isn't playful is her stun animation, in which she's absolutely furious, where she growls and hisses, the sound joined by a chorus from the living jewelry she wears. Whenever she interacts destructively with a prop, veins of corrupt gold and silver boil across the surface she's touching until it breaks.

POWER TL;DR: Enters a special stance in which she's sped up. While in this stance, she has an empowered dashslop attack that curses a survivor, or shatters an obstacle she runs into. A cursed survivor has 90 seconds to find one of the special respawning rings in the trial, or they're turned into a golden statue and treated as though they were hooked. If they're hit by the curse a second time while already cursed, they transmute instantly. Other survivors can save them from the gilded prison as normal.

-------

115% speed. 32 meter terror radius. Medium height (Pig height)

--Power: Gilded Transmutation. Pressing the ability button causes the Avarice to hold her cursed hand forward and begin to laugh. She laughs continuously for the 8 seconds she remains in her 'transmutation stance,' signaling all nearby survivors that the power is in play. While Transmutation is active, the Avarice moves at 125% speed, and she can end the ability early to perform a special lunging attack which acts as an enhanced lunge attack (think "Pig Ambush"). If she strikes a dropped pallet or breakable wall with the lunge, the impediment is destroyed after 0.80 seconds by her curse, turning to golden dust.

After hitting a survivor with Gilded Transmutation, the Avarice is slowed by 30% and cannot attack for 2.5 seconds as she giggles to herself. If she hits a pallet or wall, she is slowed by 15% and cannot attack for 2.5 seconds as she brushes wood scraps off her hand. If she impacts terrain or obstacles with her lunge, or misses completely, she is slowed by 20% and cannot attack for 2 seconds as she rages impotently.

Gilded Transmutation has a cooldown of 30 seconds.

Upon striking a survivor with the lunge, that survivor gains their sprint burst as if they had been injured, and is afflicted with Golden Death. After 90 seconds pass, if the survivor is reduced to the dying state through any means, OR if the survivor is struck with Gilded Transmutation a second time, the survivor is wracked with pain and screams as golden tendrils slither across their bodies and engulf them until they're a Gilt Statue. 7 seconds after becoming a statue, sacrifice progress begins as if the survivor had been hooked. If the survivor was on top of a prop, inside a locker, mid-vault, in midair, or otherwise not in contact with the ground when their timer ran out, the survivor staggers towards the nearest empty patch of ground that is at least 2 meters from any interactible props before transforming.

Anti-camp measures affect survivors transmuted gilt statues; they can break free of the transmutation at any stage if the Avarice spends too long within 16 meters of them (the closer she is, the faster the meter rises, as normal). Another survivor can free a transmuted survivor by taking 3 seconds to pull at the gruesome metal enough to free the trapped victim's limbs, after which they free themselves.

A survivor that dies from the transmutation (they die if they're transmuted three times in a trial, as usual) is claimed by the Entity and pulled into the ground in a special animation.

--"Secondary power:" Bury in Gilt. If the Avarice is standing over a survivor in the dying state while Gilded Transmutation is off cooldown, she may burn her power cooldown immediately by pressing the secondary power button to plunge her hand into their stomach briefly, transmuting them on the spot once they painfully stagger to their feet.

--Passive: Golden Rings. Three special rings mold themselves from the Fog at the beginning of the trial. Survivors can see the auras of these rings if they're within 24 meters of one, or within 48m if they're affected with Golden Death.

A survivor can stand over a ring and pick it up as if it were an item, wearing it on their right hand. A special icon pops up on their portrait (visible to other survivors, but not the killer) to show they have a ring. A survivor with a ring on has a band on their right hand which visibly glimmers every now and again when the survivor is in chase.

A survivor wearing a ring that is struck by Gilded Transmutation loses a health state and their ring is destroyed, but they are not affected by Golden Death. A survivor affected by Golden Death who picks up a ring is locked in place for 3 seconds as the ring counteracts and ends the curse, then crumbles away. A survivor who is wearing a ring can slip it onto the finger of a transmuted survivor, which frees them in 1 second and destroys the ring. A ring on a survivor's finger is destroyed if they're reduced to the dying state through any means.

Rings take 50 seconds to respawn, and will attempt to respawn at least 32 meters from any survivor.

-------

ADD-ONS

COMMON

  1. Tarnished Silver: Golden rings respawn 10 seconds slower.
  2. Golden File: The Avarice remains in her transmutation stance for 1 additional second.
  3. Shattered Earrings: The Avarice moves 2% faster while in her transmutation stance.
  4. Cracked Sapphire: The cooldown for hitting terrain or missing Gilded Transmutation is reduced by 0.5 seconds.

UNCOMMON

  1. Gilt Hooks: The lunge distance of Gilded Transmutation is increased by 30%.
  2. Polishing Rag: Gilded Transmutation's cooldown is reduced by 5 seconds.
  3. Transmuted Lead: Golden Death triggers 10 seconds sooner, and the grace period before the sacrifice timer triggers is 1 second shorter.
  4. Twisted Necklace: The Avarice moves 4% faster while in her transmutation stance.
  5. Slag Pile: Golden rings inflict a 5% repair speed penalty on survivors wearing them.

RARE

  1. Greed's Toll: A survivor that performs a conspicuous action within 10 seconds of being unhooked becomes affected by Golden Death.
  2. Gilt Scraps: The Avarice remains in her transmutation stance for 3 additional seconds.
  3. Gnarled Rings: Gilded Transmutation's cooldown ticks down 30% faster while the Avarice is not in chase.
  4. Old Jewelry Box: Damaging a healthy survivor with a basic attack while they're wearing a golden ring destroys the ring.
  5. Perfectly-Cut Ruby: The Avarice moves 5% faster while in her transmutation stance, and her transmutation stance lasts 3 additional seconds

VERY RARE

  1. Twisted Jewelry Box: The cooldown animations for Gilded Transmutation are all 0.5 seconds shorter. Reduces the speed penalty the Avarice suffers while in her cooldown animation by 5%.
  2. Thorn Ring: Gilded Transmutation's cooldown ticks down 40% faster while a survivor is hooked.
  3. Weight of Gilt: Whenever a survivor becomes affected by Golden Death or is fully transmuted, all other survivors within 32 meters of that survivor become incapacitated for 5 seconds.
  4. Appraisal Lens: Survivors outside the Avarice's terror radius cannot move their cameras completely off the aura of the nearest transmuted survivor.

IRIDESCENT

  1. Iridescent Diamond: Breaking a pallet or wall does not end Gilded Transmutation, though it still forces the Avarice into her cooldown animation.
  2. Malignant Gem Tumor: If the Avarice is further than 32 meters from a transmuted survivor, other survivors which free that transmuted survivor without using a ring are affected by Golden Death.

-------

PERKS

Ravenous Want: It doesn't matter what it is or what it does; if someone wants it, you want it more. This perk activates while you're within 8 meters of an item on the ground or a chest and remains active for 4 seconds after leaving this radius. While this perk is active, the cooldown for your successful basic attacks is reduced by 24%.

Terrifying Rage: The sound you unleash when you're pained is so shockingly inhuman that anyone nearby is filled with supernatural fear. Whenever you are stunned through any means, all survivors within your terror radius become incapacitated for 5 seconds. Then, Terrifying Rage goes on cooldown for 45 seconds.

Hex: Webs of Gold: An insidious sloth twines itself over those who find themselves seduced by greed, making it hard to concentrate on what truly matters. Whenever a survivor opens a chest, sabotages a hook, picks up a non-killer item, or cleanses any totem while this Hex stands, they become cursed for 20 seconds. While cursed by this Hex, they suffer a 14% penalty to repair and healing speeds. When this Hex totem is cleansed, the survivor who cleansed it is cursed for 35 seconds.

------

MEMENTO MORI

The Avarice stands over the survivor, then gives them a little finger-wave before plunging her hand into their gut. The survivor screams and grabs her arm to try and pull it out, only for the transmutation to start spreading up their arms. They're also being transmuted from within, which is horrifically painful. The survivor spits up gold and silver blood alongside several gemstones as they writhe in pain before finally dying fully transmuted.

The Avarice steps back, hefting the survivor to their feet with the end of her weapon... which I realize only now I haven't mentioned, it's a hooked cane akin to Blight's. Anyway, she steps back, pulling them to their feet by their shoulder with her weapon, and admires them. She waves them off as the Entity reaches from the ground to pull the statue away, like it does with all victims of Gilded Transmutation.

Taking a hammer and fixing the canon

I, ultimately, enjoyed the finale. More specifically, I liked how it ended... just not how it got there. I haven't been able to stop thinking about it since I saw it, and it's finally forced me to make this post. These are just some ways I think it could have been improved while making the fewest changes:

--Jax abstracts onscreen. Having him abstract offscreen was incredibly disappointing and anticlimactic, and it could add some delicious drama if the crew was around, trying to reach out to him only for him to slap their hands away (physically or otherwise) and fully corrupt. The rest of the crew being around also means they fulfill their promise to stick together and be there for each other like they said they would.

--Have the crew take the SOMA revelation worse. They brush past it too fast for my taste. It could be the final straw for Jax and a source of conflict in the group that needs to be overcome before anyone can start handling the current situation. It would play into the themes set all the way back in episode 2 with Gummigoo--just because they're "not real" doesn't matter, because they're real to each other and matter to each other, and they can make a home of the mess they've found themselves in.

--Have Jax's breakdown take longer. Yes, I know, The Jax Show And Friends, but having the main crux of the movie being everyone overcoming learning they're programs and working together, learning how to conjure, and reconstructing the circus, and all the while Jax is in the background struggling with realizing he's a program and a person... only, of course, for it all to break down.

--Caine stays dead. Instead, after he's deleted, Blue Dot is left behind. Blue Dot is unstable as an AI, and can either be a macguffin used to gain control of the circus or an antagonist in the way of everyone accepting their place in the circus. I'm more in favor of it being a macguffin that the crew uses to essentially gain admin access to the circus, allowing them to discover their names, explore the void, cure the "glitch affliction" that touching the abstracted causes, and/or reach the wi-fi outside on their own to discover how their real selves are doing.

--If Caine has to come back, it needs to be something Kinger does. Maybe they use Blue Dots power and find the recycling bin where he was sent, or Kinger conjures a way inside as a last resort to try and contain or help the abstracted (or people injured by the abstracted). Caine gets restored with limited permissions until everyone trusts him again, and he and Kinger have a god damn conversation. With the theme being "no one should feel unwanted," the man who helped create Caine should actually talk to Caine and tell him he isn't hated, and give him some of the therapy sessions he's been giving all the other characters.

--Jax's mindscape adventures should be at or near the finale instead of in the middle. This offers a ray of hope that the abstracted can be reached and, perhaps, with time, love, care, effort, and admin powers, restored to their former selves. The series then ends on the possibility (but not the certainty!) of the crew fixing everyone, leaving room for truly enormous amounts of fanfic.

Lorpheel the Gambler, before and after

I don't create a lot of planeswalkers, and I think the second card proves why. I couldn't get it out of my head, though, so I went ahead with it anyway. I like each of its three abilities enough I could just turn all three into one or two different versions of the gambling demon, and might later.

subtle political commentary

made this a while ago but i've seen Liberal Mom and Conservative Mom within the same day, so have this.

there was 0 thought put into this

saw sleight of hand and my brain instantly spat this out. this is likely broken in combination with a few cards that tuck themselves, but i couldn't focus on anything else until i made this

u/VonBagel — 2 months ago

there is a certain elegance in simplicity

If you wanted to make it true to the tale, you could make it a -X/-X effect like Tragic Slip or such to better emulate the effects of Energy Drain and allow it to circumvent Indestructible, but I like the snappiness of it and I think Xykon, the source of the quote, would too.

I was going to grab a screenshot of him defeating Vaarsuvius to hammer home the "Lesson" feel, but none of the panels made a good enough card image.

EDIT: I completely missed that Paradigm was a "may" ability, so you can actually get rid of the "up to one" text to slim it down even further!

"what do you mean 'that's not how that works?'"

i could have left it with either line of text, but opted for both just to kill two birds with one stone.

Irritants go in, pearls come out. Simple as. Made it legendary for the fun and imagery of it, but it could reasonably be non-legendary.
