So I got a talk with a heating company on a trade show. They have a ceiling heating system that uses small plastic tube filled with water and claim it can "radiate" downward. Now what I understand is that heat rises. So how trueful is their claim? And if it's true then what is the physics behind this?

Hi folks,

I'm thinking of moving to the region around Munich or Frankfurt and need your advice. Which one is better for expats in terms of career opportunities, openness to migrants, good doctors, and commuting (walkability, compactness, and public transportation)? I can speak decent German, but unfortunately, where I live, there are no opportunities and it's very hard to break in.

Hi. As a foreigner I'm always confused with the use case of Stellen, which is one of the most used verb in daily life.

For instance the verb Einstellen. I always thought it means either to employ or to set up something. But today I've learned that it means also to stop something lol.

For instance, "Die Produktion einstellen" means to stop the production. Which I thought to set up the production.

Now for native Germans. How do you know when the word einstellen means something else. Like I can't not imagine how nonlogical it is. If somebody tell me "etwas einstellen" then I don't know either to set up or to stop something. Please help!

Hi folks,

I wonder if it's possible to mix erythritol to my existing xylitol mouthwash? Would it be safe or brings any benefits? Thanks in advance.

Hi,

Does anyone have experience with the new Roger Pro Ace and Pro Ldn? How do they perform for occasional tennis? I'm planning to get one as lifestyle sneaker but also hope they are durable enought to play casual sport. Thanks in advance!

I'm learning C1 now and have a difficult time with the untrennbar präfix Verben. In my language we have also the same concept, but the rule is very consistent. So even we've never seen that word before, we still could guess the meaning. But in German is different. For example Verschreiben is either to prescribe or making a mistake. If I create completely a new german verb with a a prefix. Will native Germans understand it correctly?

Let's assume I build a tunnel that hovers and follows the shortest flight route from Germany to North America (the shortest path on Earth's curved surface) and I beam the light from one end to another. As participant, will I see a straight line or bending line?

Hi. Just bought a refurbished Ipad pro with 89% battery health from Mediamarkt Marketplace. I always had good experience with Mediamarkt but this is the first time buying from their Marketplace. Now I understood the risk so I bought on top of that the plusgarantie but wonder what is your experience with this type of warranty? Appreciate any input, thanks!
