My dermatologist has been suggesting I get on humira in order to help with my HS. I’ve always been skeptical about the medication because of the side effects with getting pneumonia or getting a scrap could lead to cellulitis. I’m very curious on peoples personal experiences with the medication.
Hello everyone. I have had HS for the past 3-4 but I’m a bit concerned even after confirming it is HS with a derm multiple times. My HS seems to do something else that my mom doesn’t experience. For whatever reason it looks like there’s a piece of internal skin coming out in a ball that has blood on it.. I want to insert a picture but idk if that’s necessary. Does anyone else’s HS do this? They will do this for weeks or months and then go back into my skin and seal themselves up acting like nothing happened. My HS do at one point drain but they go thru this period of balling themselves up looking bloody and not like HS. Again my derm said this is HS even when he’s seen them like this but I’m thinking after a few years I should get a second opinion..
Hello everyone, I was accepted to UCSD but submitted an appeal after declining the admission. A few days later I opened an appeal explaining why I initially could not attend due to financial reasons. I have been in contact with the undergraduate admissions office from time to time and they told me they don’t have an exact date when they’ll start reviewing, accepting or declining appeals. I was curious if anyone knew the process of the time period it takes with appeals.
Hello I am 20 years old and noticed a lump in my breast a few months ago but kept assuming it was “period boobs”. After my last period I began to really feel the lump more prominently and decided to go get a breast exam where they found a large lump of 3.2 cm (I’m a B cup so it feels like a majority of my breast).
I then got an ultrasound the next day and I was crying the entire time, absolutely horrified. The radiologist comes in and diagnosed me with fibroadenoma and found there’s 2 smaller lumps I can’t feel (neither could my NP). They tell me I should get a biopsy so I decided I will get one to be on the safe side. While this is all happening I find out there is some history with breast cancer on my father’s side of the family. So I begin to spiral even more than I was before.. I got my biopsy done yesterday and the ultrasound tech reassured me it looks like fibroadenoma and they see them constantly, she also stated it doesn’t look cancerous. The biopsy was very easy but I’m just so scared, I can’t help but think the worse and cry constantly.
Everyone keeps saying I’m so young but cancer doesn’t pick who it decides to infect. The ultrasound has a round oval shaped lump and I’ve seen some things online stating if it is that shape it is most likely non cancerous.
Recently I’ve felt like my boyfriend hasn’t been here for me as much as he should. I sent him a long text talking about how I’ve been distant with him because I feel like he doesn’t realize the severity of the situation and I felt shitty having to remind him “hey! Breast lumps aren’t normal and we typically think the worse when we get them so please comfort me in the process!”
The night before the biopsy he called me late at night and while having a conversation about everything he randomly said to me, “do you believe in the doctor and medical stuff? There were times you should’ve went to the doctor but didn’t go”. I immediately began crying and confronted him on saying that because I always go to the doctor when something is wrong. I also hate that he said this because it sounds like I’ve done something in the past to trigger this but when I asked him in what situation did I not go to the doctor when something was happening to me and he said “idk”.
For some more info I typically don’t go when I’m sick because the doctor can’t do much, I only go if my cold lasts longer than a week or a few days. I also tend to go to urgent care quite frequently because I’m a slight hypochondriac. If something is urgently wrong I always go to the emergency room. I also have a skin condition (HS) so I see the dermatologist every few months when it gets bad. The only thing I “neglect” is getting my bloodwork done because I had a bad experience when I was younger however I went to my DR and requested blood work done recently and genealogy tests. I explained all of this to him and he didn’t understand why I was upset because “he didn’t yell at me or say it with an attitude” but it felt so demeaning to hear something like that especially when I’ve been freaking out the past week. I’ve been extremely short with a lot of people around me because I’m so scared and I have no idea what is going to happen to me. This is a very stressful time for me and I just wanted to vent here because I’m so scared and feel lost.
Hello everyone I was wondering if it is possible to major in three things? I’m a transfer student and recently decided to double major but im now considering adding a third if possible.
Is anyone still in the waitlist? I don’t care anymore what they say but please let me know im not alone 😭
Hello! I’m in SoCal and I have two red ear sliders that need to be rehomed. Is there anywhere I can take them like a rescue or should I find someone that would take them? If so, is anyone interested in in SoCal specifically Orange County? Theyve become a lot of maintenance and I rescued them by a trash on Christmas Day. Please help me out
I just graduated from cc with my AA degree, applied to schools, got into some okay choices (UCSD, CSULB, CSUF, and waitlisted from SDSU) I’ve been stuck on going to csulb or ucsd, but I’m disappointed in all my rejections I received from UCLA and UCI (I don’t care about UCR which I also got rejected to). I didn’t complete any bio or chemistry for my major (psychology) and nearly all UCs require this except UCI and UCR. Ironically I got into UCSD where I’m missing 5 pre reqs including some heavy stem courses. My gpa is currently 3.7 and I was considering doing an extra semester at CC to take bio and chem and then reapply for the next year. Is this a bad decision? It would prolong my BA and could take from my funding from FASFA. Should I just go to csulb and apply to these UCs again for grad school?
Hello, I’m a transfer student, I was placed on the SDSU waitlist. Is it normal for the SDSU waitlist to be this long of a wait? I recently received an email stating that I am still on the waitlist and saw some people didn’t make it to this wave. I have a 3.7 GPA and I am a Psychology transfer. I’m not sure if I’m even considering SDSU, but I’m still curious if this is normal for SDSU? I didn’t realize CSUs got this much attention or hype that the waitlist extends into July.
Budget: 500-800 but if I have to, 1,000
• Country: USA
• Condition: new
• Type of Camera: any type, mostly looking at canon
• Intended use: selfies, nature
• If photography; what style: NA
• If video what style: NA
• What features do you absolutely need: flash!
• Portability: fit in my purse or it can be a little bulky
• Cameras you're considering: canon sx740hs, Powershot v1 canon
• Cameras you already have: Samsung WB1100F
• Notes: Hello! Are there any cameras you guys would recommend similar to the g7x 3 camera? I was looking at the power shot v1 by canon but realized id need to buy my own flash and stand which would knock up the price to 1,000 including the memory card. I’ve also heard things about canon sx740hs being good but the flash stops working apparently. So are there any cameras you guys recommend? I’m looking to use this camera for selfies and to take photos of nature if wanted.
URGENT I ONLY HAVE 7HRS.
Hello everyone, I was accepted to UCSD and Cal State Long Beach and only have a few hours to decide which school to go to. At UCSD I am currently missing over five prerequisites. These prerequisites include two biology one chemistry, one calculus and one computer programming class. At Cal State Long Beach I am not missing any prerequisites. Additionally, I live very close to Cal State Long Beach and would not need to dorm, which would alleviate some cost that would come from UCSD. I’m very concerned for my mental health if I attend UCSD because I’m worried that I may not be able to complete these prerequisites. Additionally, I also am worried thatI would have difficulty with living away from home. But I do know that research and internships for psychology are abundant at UCSD however, I’m concerned that if my mental health starts to go down due to being away from home, I will not focus on studies. I’m also concerned with all the effort that I’ve currently put into my two years to get my AA degree that I might be running out of steam and might not be able to complete these prerequisites UCSD once with good grades in a B range or in A range rather I would get a C in these courses. in a way Long Beach feels like home because it’s close to home. I also have no extra classes I need to complete, I would have more time to look into internships and research hours, and I believe if I go to Cal State Long Beach, I’d actually have a better successful academia career rather than going to UCSD where I’m forced into a 10 week quarter system to complete 24 credits before beginning my upper division courses. I have talked to many people psychologist some professors and even friends who have said that I should go to UCSD due to the research and as long as financials aren’t an issue. My question for the sub Reddit is does it matter where you get your BA and Psychology my biggest concern is that I will reapply to UC and they will see that I got my BA from a Cal State university and they will not accept me. i’m worried about this because I may not get into labs at Cal State Long Beach due to it being highly competitive, is there anyone here in the sub rat who went to a Cal State University or well less well-known university and ended up going to a more well known university or a prestigious university leader in their academia career. Can you please tell me about your resume and how you made it through all the difficult courses you had to take along the way. Lastly, I would just like to say this is probably one of the most difficult decisions for me because I got rejected from all other UCS that I applied to this year I was rejected from UCR, UCLA and UCI. Being accepted to UCSD showed me that it is possible for getting into higher places in education.
Hi everyone you’ve probably seen me post on this sub many times but today will determine if it is my last day posting on the here. Today is the last day to figure out if I will be attending UCS San Diego because admission is due today. I wanted to ask the sub Reddit if picking Cal State Long Beach over UC San Diego is crazy. I am a psych major, that is missing over five prerequisites from UCSD which totals up to 24 units in total these units are all heavily stem related. I am missing over two biology courses one chemistry course calculus one and a computer programming course as well. I live in Huntington Beach and would have to dorm at UC San Diego however, I love Orange County and I would be able to come home on the weekends. If I go to Cal State Long Beach, I will not touch any debt due to not needing to dorm at Cal State Long Beach. I’ve also not missing any prerequisites at Cal State Long Beach. I’m curious to hear from other majors or alumni if they ended up going to a graduate school at a UC system. I generally feel like I’ve been going crazy and I’ve been crying for the past couple of weeks because I don’t know where I want to go. You see San Diego is a beautiful campus but it doesn’t feel right, State Long Beach feels much more pretty, and it feels like it has a much more genuine feeling than UCSD.
I’m transferring and got accepted but I’m missing pre reqs. Specially I’m missing 2 biology, 1 chemistry, calculus 1, and a programming course. Can any current students tell me if these are taught well at UCSD? Would it be better to take them at a cc?
Can you accept your acceptance letter on June 1st? If so is it until 11:59 pm?

If I already accepted another university and submitted a deposit but also want to accept ucsd because I’m unsure if I’m going to go through with attending is that okay? UCSD says if i accept but I have other deposits to other universities they have the right to drop me, what do I do?
When do I send my spring transcripts to CSULB? Do we even need to?
Hiii! I wanted to get your guys opinion on my situation. I got into UCSD a month ago for psychology however there’s a couple issues. The first one and probably the biggest, I’m missing 5 pre reqs and they are all STEM. I originally applied to UCSD because of my fee waiver and because it was a joke to me but I got in and didn’t complete the major prep courses required. I’d complete them at my CC while attending UCSD or id do them at UCSD. The other issue is I will owe 11k per year due to FASFA not covering my housing if I dorm. I committed to CSULB for the mean time and I’ve completed all pre reqs required and I wouldn’t touch debt. What would you guys do in this situation? The classes they want me to complete are difficult and would be an extra quarter or semester depending where I do them..
