Sunny apartments carmel? Fairplay?

Love my current apartment but my neighbors are insanely unbearable and unresponsive to noise or weed complaints - the entire complex just doesn't feel safe anymore. Someone pulled a taser on my partner in the middle of the day yesterday in a hallway and I don't blame them tbh. Looking to move but a lot of the apartments in Carmel seem very old and dark and sad. Fairplay seems to have many more windows but is also a bit dated. Does anyone have any recommendations for 1 bedrooms? Unfortunately am a seasonal big sads person and hoping for lots of sunlight + safety.

Sorry for all the questions new to this diagnosis and trying to figure out what symptoms is what with my leg issues-

Does anyone have pain to the touch with CVI from deep vein reflux? When I touch my legs even after sleeping through the night - it sometimes feels like terrible bruises everywhere but I don't have any visual discoloration.

More feedback please

Someone commented that it would be helpful to see more of the tort, specifically his beak. Could I get feedback on if he looks healthy? Here he is in his sunbeam.

Shell feedback please

Just started watching my family members tortoise and trying to learn all I can. Does his shell look ok? I'm fearful of rapid growth. He has a white spot that I think was a little scrape but also want to check if I'm missing any others or if there's an negative health indicators?

Shell feedback?

I just started watching my family members tortoise for a bit and have been trying to learn as much as possible. Is this shell healthy? I'm confused on the lighter line near the edge and if this could be the start of rapid growth? Or am I paranoid?

Imo r/Thyroid cancer mods are hurting people

I just want everyone to know that the current ATA guidelines are to monitor or ablate very low risk cancers up to 2 cm over lobectomy or total thyroidectomy. This is based on years of research showing that the harm of removing your thyroid outweighs the good in most instances for very low risk cancers. Effects being supressed metabolism, liver function, depression, risk of dementia etc.

I was banned for regretting not doing this as it was not presented as an option for me despite having an extremely low risk thyroid cancer (papillary, encapsulated, <1.5 cm)

I now have longstanding supplement resistant hypothyroidism (40+ lbs, myositis, memory issues, severe depression, etc.)

I just want to express frustration that the thyroid cancer reddit is extremely pro fear mongering against even current clinical guidelines and data. For anyone reading about hypothyroidism - it is not solved by everyone with T4 or even combinations. Some people, such as myself, have polymorphisms in genes that means we don't regulate T3 production at a tissue level- TSH does not represent this bio availability or supressed metabolism.

If you are newly diagnosed please ask your doctor about active surveillance or ablation - as these are now the current recommendation for low risk cancers. I was permanently banned from the thyroid cancer subreddit for saying this and a mod messaged me saying it was "highly inappropriate to advise people not to treat their cancer" which is.... I beleive, a disgusting, actually dangerous, uninformed, moronic perspective and reduction of what I'm saying. In true reddit fashion they then also muted me after having their actually uninformed tantrum. Some papillary thyroid cancers are extremely low risk and again these are the updated clinical guidelines which many doctors do not adhere to and I wish they were even available to my knowledge base for discussion before my health and life was irrecoverably changed because of what in hindsight feels like a rash and uninformed decision.

I'm just sharing my lived experience, which apparently gets you permanently banned by people that only allow posts telling people to take out their thyroids and take T4 which I think is disgusting and misguided. I've regretted the decision I made every day and it was statistically worse for me and not necessary. r/thyroidcancer will allow posts telling people they'll be fine (when a sizable amount may struggle greatly with replacement), telling people to have their thyroids removed, how easy and great it is etc. and they're warriors and etc etc. - I think it is TBH self indulgent and has become a bit of a cult that encourages people to make decisions they may regret. just sharing my experience in the hopes it helps somebody with an extremely low risk cancer like mine whose doctor is not on the up and up about current guidelines or the risk of treatment resistant post surgery hypothyroidism.

Thanks

Over treated

PTC is over treated. The harm of removing your thyroid for many of us far outweighs any hypothetical benefits vs monitoring. I had a small enclosed PTC tumor and was advised to have a lobectomy and that everything would be the same just take this magic T4 pill. This is not true. I have the DIO2 polymorphism. I have gained 60 lbs despite my "TSH being normal". I think doctors are morons. TSH is not the same axis as metabolic availability. My risk of dementia and secondary metabolic diseases are through the roof. My cholesterol has tripled. I have infertility and myositis. I feel so lied to and so angry every day. My doctor was an overconfident moron. I have so many regrets. This is not discussed often because of the "c" word but I just feel..... So beyond angry. The data is here but doctors are too mindless of pharma bots to even acknowledge it. Please if you're a young woman consider surveillance. I cannot tell you how much I wish I could go back to that day and never have had this done. Please.
